The food was good but $2.00 each for a one ounce cup of ranch and ketchup is insanely expensive! We also ordered a cream puff that was left out of our to go order and we didn't realize it until after they had closed when we got back to the place we were staying. Of course they are closed on Sunday and don't have any way to contact them to let them know of the error. Very clean polished but small restaurant. I had the soup of the day (ham & bean) and salad(Cobb) combo. I DRANK WATER which had a metallic taste. With a HOMEMADE FULL SIZE loaf of cranberry nut bread to bring home & tip=$20! No pics this time. Soup was full of carrots, and deli sliced ham & a little too salty. It should have been a little warmer. I chose the Cobb salad, (you can pick any of SEVERAL SALADS) it was tasty, but the lettuce was left whole leaf & should be chopped into bite size pieces, I forgot to ask for no egg & it was diced small as were the red potatoes which I did not expect on a salad. I chose the sweet & sour dressing which was tasty but rather thin. Nice portion of grilled chilled chopped chicken breast & very minimal bacon bits. Friends had the meatloaf sandwich with chips, & the Italian sandwich which comes with a nice portion of marinara for dipping. Both REALLY liked their meals. I would give it another try. read more

After a heavy lunch, my friends and I thought soup and salad was a good choice for dinner, and as it was getting late, the options in the area are limited. So we were happy to find the Olde World Bistro - they seat until 7 and had salads. There was a bit of a wait, and they were not doing carry out when we arrived, so we sat on the patio until we were called in, about 15 minutes later. Because we were seated towards the end of their hours, we didn't look too much at the menu, we stuck with the plan and all ordered the soup and salad combo. I chose the daily special - chicken vegetable soup, and the "Amish Cobb" salad, which is like a cross between a cobb and a Nicoise. Both were delicious. The soup was a tomato based veggie with big fresh green beans and tender shredded chicken. The salad was topped with generous portions of eggs, boiled potatoes, feta cheese, chicken and tomatoes. It was fresh and just right after a decent hike and a big lunch. We also got desserts to go, and the favorites were the chocolate torte, gluten free with a walnut crust and super dense and rich! For sure couldn't eat a whole piece of this! Second was the apple pecan cake - a huge slice of cinnamony cake with butter cream and some apple frosting. It was a bit dry, but we all loved the cinnamon flavor. The lemon tart wasn't very lemony, but the filling to crust ratio was great, and the texture was enjoyable, but we were hoping for the pucker factor. My husband and I went to Olde World Bistro for some lunch while exploring Berlin. He got the all American burger and fries and I got the BLT and tomato basil soup. The burger and the tomato basil soup were both delicious! The Blt sandwich only had 2 pieces of bacon on it. For a restaurant BLT they didn't really do anything special. It was good, had homemade mayo, but needed a little uniqueness or at least a massive pile of crispy bacon. Then we got coffee to go. He got an iced vanilla latte and I got a hot brown sugar latte. They were both good! Brown sugar latte was a little sweeter than I like, but still a good coffee option! The restaurant itself was very clean and felt welcoming. Our waitress was nice and attentive. I ordered a mushroom Swiss burger -MEDIUM- with NO Swiss add pepper jack cheese. Food came burger was cooked well done. Sent back. Remake comes, server says I'll be back to make sure this one's good. And wow burger was well done AGAIN and had Swiss cheese. My party of 6 was done eating. Server never came back. I ate the burger. Got to counter to pay and asked for manager or owner. Manager/guy that thinks he can cook came out and I said the second one was also well done- he says "temperature was exact for medium- now medium means there will still be pink- 0 pink so I said you obviously don't know how to cook, you are full of shit, and I am not paying for this. He turned and said I will get the owner she comes up angered and says did you eat it? I said yes she then says well you are paying or I'm call the police and you are threatening me. I said WHAT? There are 5 witnesses standing right here and I just shouldn't have to pay for this good. Well I paid, but wanted to tell y'all the owner and manager hate tourists and should find a new line of work. Had dinner with my Momma here tonight! I had the Pork Stack. It was so delicious! Pulled Pork over garlic cheddar mashed potatoes with crispy onions on top! Served with a side salad that they let me pick my own toppings for. I opted for cucumbers, peperochinis, Feta and bacon & their yummy homemade ranch dressing on the side. It was so yummy. Momma ordered the pulled pork grilled cheese. She thought it needed more meat. Seemed they only put the meat in the very center of the bread. She still thought it was tasty and liked that she could pick her choice of cheese! She also loved the hand breaded onion rings. The bread they serve as an appetizer with seasoned olive oil is amazing!!! Make sure you try it! You won't be disappointed! The Olive Oil was very fresh! They have so many dessert options!!!! I brought home the Keto cheesecake! Yep an actual keto dessert in the heart of Amish Country! Couldn't eat another bite. Dessert will have to be for lunch tomorrow! We stopped in for an early supper. We were glad we arrived early because the restaurant filled up quickly. It's a beautiful dining space - clean & inviting. Hubby ordered the mushroom onion & Swiss burger with fries ($15) & a Coke ($3). I got the fish sandwich with onion rings ($14). The server was helpful & I appreciated his informing us that everything was made from scratch. Both of us liked our sandwiches & sides. There was shredded cheddar on my fish sandwich but I was expecting sliced cheddar. I could have used a bit more of the homemade tartar sauce on my fish. It was tasty. So glad we found this little Gem. We had stopped at another restaurant and decided thier atmosphere and smell did not sit well, so we ventured on and found Olde World Bistro. The food was great and bakery items were great. Just wish they would have had milk so we could have tried their lattes (they ran out of milk? In Amish country? Haha). We stopped for dinner before the show and it was amazing. My husband had the bacon-wrapped meatloaf and I had the chicken pesto Alfredo special. Both were so good. The creamy Italian dressing on our salads and fresh, warm bread was a great start to the meal. For dessert, we got a buckeye hand pie to go. We enjoyed that after the show! We drove 2.5 hrs to arrive in Berlin, OH. This restaurant is in the heart of multiple shops/attractions (antiques, crafts, fabric, Christmas, pet store, a toy horse, and mule ... and so much more). A parking spot was available right outside the door... our lunch choice was decided for us. A large sign posted the daily specials outside with seating. We entered and ran smack into a huge bakery counter ... a huge carrot cake with cream cheese icing was displayed next to large glass cookie jars with individually wrapped cookies. We were seated socially distanced. Our waitress was masked. The menu discussed bus trips which told me to expect a fast kitchen. The dining area had 5 occupied tables lless than 20 people with 3 waitresses. Our waitress took our orders and repeated them back to us. The piping hot tomato basil soup was served with oyster crackers not the croutons we asked for. The lemon vingarette was 90% oil 10% lemon ... just too oily for the side salad. The house spicy sauce was not on the side as ordered for the mushroom swiss burger. So our waitress was off her game. I asked the hostess if we could put postcards in their outgoing mail and totally befuddled her. The crowning blow ... they don't take American Express. All of the other shops/attractions took American Express. I plan on returning to Berlin, OH and may try this restaurant again. read more

So, not following any COViD guidelines. The staff did not have masks on. They have the tables spread out somewhat but filled every single booth back to back. This was the second place that we saw where no one is wearing masks (I wonder why Ohio's numbers are increasing ) Anyways, the food was ok. There wasn't anything special about the menu and they cut off breakfast promptly at 10:30. I got a burger that had a weird flavor and was too small for the cibatta roll. Chips were homemade but hard. Their food is excellent. Their breakfast sandwich is the best breakfast sandwich I've had in a long time. Their chocolate macaron was excellent. Their vanilla macaron tasted a couple of days old. For me they lost a star for their hours. Starting Oct. 1 they close at 3 on Saturdays. October is the busiest month of the year for the area and there are very few non-chain places to eat in town. The next star off is for prices. They are charging big city prices for a small town restaurant. I went to get a slice of chocolate torte, it was $8 for a small slice. Free dessert with a minimum purchase has been available on the discount card the past two years. Tasty, fresh prepared meals for everyone! Salads, Sandwiches, Wraps, desserts large enough to share! Some French inspired décor accents the dining area in low lighting and a nice ambient setting in the Heart of Ohio's Amish Country. On top of breakfast, lunch and dinner this restaurant is also a bakery with cakes, breads and more!! This restaurant alone is reason enough to drive 2 hours from any region. No COVID precautions. I saw ONE staff member wearing a mask. I don't care what the owner's beliefs are about mask-wearing...the petulantly-toned notice on the door is not ok. WOW. We decided to go here to pick up breakfast because it was the only place in town we found that offered curbside pickup. The employee was wearing a mask and we felt very safe during the exchange.
