Took forever to get our food and right before the waitress brought the other orders for our table out, she told us they were out of ingredients for 1 of the orders. We had already waited about 25 mins for our food so didn't order anything else. Food that did come was disappointing: "grilled cheese" was a processed cheese slice between bread just from a toaster. Wow, where to start. We came in on a Friday afternoon and there was a wait, which was fine. We should've been tipped off by the lack of service at the front register. Two people went up to pay while we were waiting (at different times) and both were ignored. There was no one at the register permanently and each got looks from the servers but no one stopped. A mom had to take her kids outside as they were getting antsy from the wait while dad waited to pay. But we were already there and were hungry so we ignored it. No one was bussing tables so there were three open tables while we waited and another party waited but all full of dishes. There were three servers which seemed doable for the size of the place even though it was at capacity. It took 10 minutes for our server to come over for our drink order and we saw by the other frustrated patrons that we'd better have our entire order ready. I got the Sticky BBQ Burger with fries and the hubby got the French Dip (both based on pics) and he asked for the potato soup as an appetizer. We both got water and he got a lemonade as well. The soup never came and despite us even talking about it with her (so we knew she heard him), it wasn't on the bill. Refills barely happened even after promises of refills and this was when the place was almost cleared out...but they had time to stand behind the counter and chat with each other. Sigh. Now onto the food. While I appreciate a lean burger, 90% needs some kind of fat with it because that sticky burger was a puck. Dry, tasteless and the only reason I ate it is because after 45 minutes, I was starving! The bun was not the bun I saw in pics, it was a stale ciabatta like bun that was dry and I had to take a sip of water after every bite to swallow it. The fries were meh but nothing ketchup couldn't fix. The hubby's French dip was the same. Dry, limp meat with a hard bun that was only saved by dunking it into the au jus and he said even then it wasn't good but like me, he was hungry especially since he never got his soup. We can almost excuse bad service if the food is good but nope. Bad food, bad service and I don't know if we just caught them on a bad day or what but we both agree we wouldn't go back to find out. I stopped by here last weekend with my wife and her parents for lunch. We were looking for a place to eat and happened to stumble upon old world bakery and cafe as our second choice. I knew that it was a bakery as well as a bistro from what was said on yelp but whenever we first walked in all that we could see was the bakery and coffee. As a matter of fact, the people in front of us walked in and immediately proceeded to walk back out and leave. Once you made it through the bakery type area there was a rather large second room that doubles as the dining room. Our party asked for a table for 4 and were taken to a table for 8. Ironically it was made up of two tables pushed together and we fit perfectly on only one of the tables. It was here that our server introduced herself and told us that everything was homemade. After looking over the menu I was happy to see that it was noted that many items were sourced locally. For lunch I decided on the grilled sticky BBQ burger and then got a side of sweet potato fries that my wife and I split. The sticky burger was a 5 oz burger topped with onion rings, pepper jack and BBQ sauce all on a pretzel bun. I was concerned that a 5 oz burger wasn't going to be able to fill me up but my concern ultimately proved unfounded. Whenever the food came out my burger looked really good. It ended up being cooked perfectly and was really juicy. The real star of the dish for me though was the onion rings which were simply awesome. They had just the right amount of batter giving them a nice and crispy shell and all of them had a good amount of onion to batter ratio which I feel is very important in an onion ring. The BBQ on the burger was of the sweet variety and helped the burger live up to its name. Last but not least was the pretzel bun which was sort of disappointing. If you wouldn't have told me that it was a pretzel bun I would have never known. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. I love that everything was locally sourced and homemade and it didn't hurt that the food tasted good as well! read more

Stopped in for lunch after a day trip to Sugarcreek and saw that this place had great reviews online. We were definitely not disappointed with the meal we received! The prices were decent and the food was fantastic. I got the grilled chicken sandwich and it was the best sandwich I have ever had! Perfectly seasoned and just and all around awesome sandwich. I also ordered a side of the onion rings and they were fantastic. Not typical onion rings that you would expect. We went to leave and pay the bill when we noticed they had some baked goods. So we stopped and bought a loaf of cinnamon bread. The bread was very good. Tasted just like homemade (although it was a little lacking with the cinnamon). We had pancakes which were quite good and the batter was homemade. My wife had the bacon and commented it was thick and good. My favorite was the cookies. I had the chocolate chip, peanut butter and sugar and all were great. At 60 cents a piece, it's hard to beat the price at a bakery. The chocolate chip cookie seemed to have a thin layer of chocolate instead of chips, which I thought made it very good. read more

Extremely disappointed! I visited this café previously and it was amazing! We were here on 10/13/18 @ approximately 1 in the afternoon. My daughter got soup and salad. When the bowl of soup arrived I tasted it and it was barely warm. My daughter continued to eat it and found a wrapped up sweetener packet in the bottom of the bowl. I motioned for the other waitress to come over and showed this to her and she laughed out loud! I asked her to send our waitress over. When our waitress came over I showed her the bowl and she just said "oh". I said can she please get something else like fries? The waitress said yes. We should have just left at this point but we did not. I wanted this experience to be just as good as last time but it was not happening. The rest of the food was just disappointing : cheese not melted on sandwich, bun resembled an under baked roll. The baked goods we tried were very good. When I went to pay I asked the waitress if she took the soup of the bill. She said no she took the fries off and they were more money. I left feeling sad. We tried to laugh the experience off. I felt sick the whole ride home thinking was this someone's soup they sent back? So bad... I paid the bill and gave a small tip. I will never eat here again! read more

Not quite what I expected, not as sweet as I anticipated, which was fine. My husband got the Quesadilla. It was good also. Sides do not come with the entrees so we shared an order of Onion Rings. Good flavor, however we felt like we were eating donuts because the dough was so thick. We've never had onion rings quite like those. We ordered the make your own omelet and bacon, eggs, and biscuits and gravy. I had the omelet with bacon, green peppers, onions, potatoes, and cheddar cheese. It came with a choice of breads for toast. The eggs, potatoes, and onions were cooked perfectly and the omelet was just awesome! My husband loved everything but the sausage gravy. Came to Amish country for a stay at a local cabin.. was looking to enjoy a nice meal here, because of recommendation. The menu is very small. And pricey for what you get. The burgers were chewy and rubbery. They charge extra for very very boring fries. 65% of the burger was lettuce... the onion rings were soggy... not crispy. As I was eating I thought that BurgerKing would have been a lot better tasting, and cheaper. Staff was polite. That's about it. 2 Stars. read more

This was our 3rd visit to this place. I had the BBQ pork sandwich and the fries. The sandwich was very good. But the fries were exceptional. When I get average fries I drown them in ketchup. Just left and HAD to leave a review. What an awesome place! Our server was so sweet and attentive. The food was excellent. The Cobb salad was amazing. The lemon vinaigrette dressing was the best dressing I've ever tasted. They should bottle and sell it! Kids' meals were really good and serving size was great. We discovered Olde World Bakery during our stay in Berlin this weekend. We were absolutely amazed by the cozy atmosphere, incredible customer service, and incredible food. Old World Bakery brings the garden to life with their passion for food and customers. The menu is impeccable, featuring updated, delicious farm-to-table recipes. We were happy to try the spinach artichoke dip with homemade chips, farmer's wife salad, soup of the day, and chocolate torte. We wish we were closer, but will be back each visit to Berlin!
