We are always on the hunt for Mediterranean Fare. The outside and inside look inviting. We chose this place because we looked up the menu online & prices seemed good with good selections. I ordered a Greek salad for around $11-12. When it came out, it was just a bowl full of iceberg lettuce, ONE (1) grape tomato, one (1) cucumber slice, a couple pickles & maybe 3-4 slices of banana pepper and an olive or two. I called the waitress over and asked why I only had one grape tomato. She actually admitted that's all they put on a large salad that would feed maybe 3-4 people. So who fights over the tomato or the olive or the cucumber slice) and there were No walnuts as listed. I sent it back. Never ate it. I'm not paying for a bowl of iceberg lettuce. Then, my husband ordered the Kefta Kabob. Online the item is $14. In fact everywhere online it's $14. When we got our bill, it was $23. My husband didn't look because we had already decided from the online menus. The small cheese pizza for our granddaughter was ok but tasted more like a frozen pizza. The weirdest crazy part of it all was after waiting forever to get our bill, the waitress (who was very nice) said that she felt bad that I didn't get to eat so she paid for my salad. I asked if the management blamed her & made her pay. She said no- she just wanted to do a nice gesture. I said unless you are being forced to pay for it, you realize I sent back something I didn't eat and to say you felt bad I didn't eat, that you paid for it makes no sense. We didn't even know this place existed. It's well hidden off the main road, but so worth the visit!! We were met with a very nice and informative waitress. The food was fabulous! It was flavorful the plates are loaded with food when they come out. The restaurant is clean and well laid out. The bathrooms are also super clean. Let me start with the server we had was very nice and super accommodating and honestly she deserves a better place to serve at because the food we had was a monstrosity. Call Gordon Ramsey because this was a kitchen nightmare. My fiancé and I agreed the best part of the meal was the wine we had. The garlic bread was hardly even cooked and slathered in butter not toasted in the slightest. We both ordered pasta and mine should have came with penne but we were told that it was too late for them to make penne at 7:30pm so I had to have spaghetti or fettuccine noodles with my penne all vodka with chicken. On top of that our pasta came out extremely watery and tasted worse than a jar sauce. The chicken was yellow in the most unappealing way. I took two bites and could not eat anything more. Definitely save yourself of the trouble and don't eat here. After we made them aware we were unhappy, the chef came out to say he could make it with penne and when we declined he shrugged us off like shit on his shoe. Never thought I would find a Mediterranean/ Italian restaurant in the middle of a small college town, but here is the Olive Branch. Hands down the best I've ever tasted. From the bread sticks to the Hummus everything was superb. Me and my family showed up at 6pm. Our waitress was extremely nice and attentive. We ordered cheesy bread sticks as an appetizer. Beef , Lasagna with meat sauce, Shrimp Fettuccine in Rose' sauce and a personal pizza for my youngest daughter. The beef was seasoned to perfection and a tender medium cooked steak. Greek Salas was fresh and great. The Lasagne was just outstanding as well as the Shrimp Fettuccine. Nothing about this meal could be complained about. From the service to the speed of the kitchen getting us our meals. We were done boxed up and paid the bill in less than a hour. And the price? For a Mediterranean restaurant, I hoped for more, with less American style cooking. They did have Dolmas, and gyro based dishes, but I'd say it's akin to a fusion restaurant's take, to meet the needs of the American consumer. Although, neither dish with lamb advertised tzatziki sauce, which is common with a gyro. This is the extent of Greek, and the rest was American-Italian based. It'd be good to provide additional Greek options, to assist with the Mediterranean theme. This restaurant may do well, for weary travelers who are staying at the Comfort Inn, across the street, but some things may require an update to keep residents. To test the food, we had lasagna, chicken Alfredo and pasta in a meat sauce. Overall, the pasta is not where they shine. The pasta in meat sauce tasted akin to Chef Boyardee, the lasagna was akin to Stoffer's lasagna, and the Alfredo sauce was so watery, it couldn't stick to the food. Ultimately, we left feeling underwhelmed. As for the service, it took longer than necessary to place our order or pay the bill, but the server was pleasant. I always leave room for the possibility of having arrived on an off night, but this is likely not a place we'll return. Maybe the pizza and calzones is where this restaurant shines, but I can't say. read more

Okay, where to begin. Wasn't expecting a great deal...no offense to Greenwood but we're talking a local mom and pop restaurant in a small rural town but boy was I blown away. You could tell from the minute you walked in that their attention to detail was very important to them. The motive fit the theme of the restaurant and the place was busy. I was surprised at the variety of the menu. It did take a longer than normal time to get greeted but in today's world that wasn't a shocker. I opted for the Mediterranean Salad. It was absolutely delicious. Just the right amount of spices and oils. You could see the oils and vinegars on display and knew they didn't scrimp on quality. I was concerned that just a salad wasn't going to be enough food but wanted something clean...wrong, it was more than enough and I found myself challenged to finish the entire dish but I won in the long run. The food and decor won me over as well. The only detraction was the service. The waitress not only got my wife's order wrong but also my sons. However, the food they did get was good. I will say the other wait staff seemed on top of things but ours appeared to less than interested in doing her job. If not for her poor performance, I would have given them a 5 star review but couldn't get past her attitude but again, the food was tremendous.
