My only two little gripes with Cloisters is when I first went into the coffee shop I wasn't sure if it was table service or I had to order from the counter. This did make me feel a little intimidated to start with, but as a frequent visitor now it's fine. I also have found that the lack of card paying facilities makes it difficult when I forget cash as the neares cash point is a fair walk away. The cafe itself is set out in a quaint setting and appears very cosy. The tables are set out fairly close together but not so close that you are tripping over each other all the time.

The prices to go with this are well priced to match the competition in town which is a plus for a nice afternoon out rather than evening. My negatives for this pub is that children aren't as welcome as they are in other pubs in the surrounding area. I think this is a shame as it would encourage me to visit more frequently if they were.

I came away feeling nicely full too. I think this is just about my favourite pub in Wimborne. It's got a friendly feel and the music suits me and it's not too loud. Very pleasant frontage too.

Rising Sun will not be eaten at every week by every customer, so the small menu gives it a feel of attention to detail. I had pan fried mackerel with deep fried fennel, new potatoes and a bed of sliced tomato. The fish was exquisite, something I never thought I'd say about mackerel. It went perfectly with the fennel. My meal was extremely enjoyable and I felt mildly disappointed to have to finish it. I would have liked to have seen a third colour on my plate, perhaps French beans. My companion had the cottage pie, which was delicious. (I know because I had to finish the last mouthful of my daughters.) It was finely chopped steak, cooked with a hint of wine I think. Superb. My daughter had frozen berries with vanilla sauce as her sweet. Fabulous. One has to wait for the hot sauce to melt the berries! It was truly fun and and delight. The sauce was perfect. I had a Kahlua for sweet, perfect, and my friend had American Baked Cheese Cake, which certainly looked good. We were well served and attended. The staff are very friendly. Staff were polite and attentive, nothing too much trouble. The pub is tastefully fitted out, if rather a mixture of old and new.
