I ordered a dirty martini, which took a long time to come. The waitress came back and asked that I want gin or vodka. That was my fault. I often forget that you can have one of the other, but I always have vodka. I hate gin. A few more things transpired before I actually got that drink, I think it's because they didn't have a real bartender and I swear they either spilled or drink some of it before it got to the table. I came at 3pm and it was a quiet casual vibe which I really appreciated as I was by myself and needed to get work done. I was able to be seated at a booth near an outlet upon request. Abel was a fabulous waiter. He was patient saw to my needs and made sure I knew about the soups and salads that came with my lunch entree. Upon Abel's recommendation I ordered the lunch portion of the Lasagna Classico. My food was out quickly (~10 minutes). I enjoyed my lasagna and the chicken soup. The only thing that left a little to be desired were my breadsticks. I wish they had been a little fresher. This olive garden has a little bit of everything . We came in kinda late because I had just gotten off of work. We were seated promptly and provided service by Diamond. We started talking food and she immediately brought over the drinks , salad, and bread sticks . After a few minutes the manager walked over and noticed my daughters tshirt ( she was wearing smashing pumpkins) he got real with is telling us how much he loved the band and called over another waitress(Mandi) who was a singer in a band . The food was fantastic but the family atmosphere really brought it home for us. Excellent food , excellent service . We will come back at a more reasonable hour next time. Clarissa was AMAZING start to finish! Food was served fast and hot, and she timed it so our salad/soup was able to be eaten without rushing. Ok...me & my mom went to get some soup and salad during lunch hours. We were seated right away. Soup and salad was superb all due to our waiter Leo! He was so attentive even though it was just soup and salad. He made sure we had enough dressing, cheese, water and tea. Checked on us frequently and was so freakin professional! The only reason I don't give five stars is due to Olive Gardens bread...not as good as it use to be. Looks undone and tastes just ok. Food is okay. The chicken and gnocchi is either a HUGE hit or a major disappointment and taste like dish water. They often forget something's on your order for curbside. The pasta is great and they do overload with chicken on the chicken Alfredo. Breadsticks don't taste the same either. I have not been to an Olive Garden in probably three years. I have steered away with mainly service and cleanliness issues. However, this review will focus on improvements with service at a location I had yet to try. The experience was expedited by friends who waited in advance. They were seated upon arriving and a hostess showed us to the table. On the walk through everything was clean and neat in appearance. Our young female waitress was strong from the beginning and got drink and food orders immediately since we were in a hurry. We set a timetable to get our food out with having an obligation. She confirmed they could do it. Drinks, salad, soup and bread hit the table within 5-6 minutes which was excellent! The salad was fresh, crisp and yummy! A refill of salad and bread was brought out soon after with out party of five devouring both. The bread was undercooked, not buttery and not nearly as tasty as I would have liked. With the timetable and being with friends no complaint was made. Edible, not up to par from what I remembered. My son reported his chicken and dumpling soup was great All the food hit the table at the same time which excellent! Friends reported the food was hot and appearance good. My son's cheese ravioli did not look good with dried up pasta. He said it tasted fine, but ate less than half which is unusual. My lasagna Frittata appetizer which has been a staple I order looked good on appearance but lacked the flavor although the texture was correct. Our waitress did provide refills and checked in. Our party decided to use the kiosk to checkout. We were able to split the bill and the system worked great and even printed a receipt. In personally do not like the machines, but it was useful. I hit up the men's room which is in the rear of the restaurant. They may have two sets of them considering its location. The facility had proper supplies and everything functioned as it should. Unfortunately the trash was overflowing and there was debris all around the container. It appeared to me to have not been checked in a while. I probably would not return to this location. In the past the a Newport News has been stronger. I want to make it clear that it was the sub par food, not the above average service that deducted a full star. read more

Okay, seriously - when did the Olive Garden become some kind of weird bougie hot spot? Like, the whole point is that you get 90s style "classy" dining that everyone knows isn't much better than Panera (and let's be real, some of the new Italian stuff at Panera is probably better) but the breadsticks and salad dressing are laced with some kind of narcotic that you can't seem to quit and whatever you ordered for dinner is passable. On my recent couple visits here, the to-go line/time to get your order has been INSANE. So, I opted to sit at the bar top instead - I tried a chicken, peppers and pasta dish that was okay but not GREAT, especially when it had a $20 price tag. I mean honestly. The local Italian place we order pizza from every Friday has a range of MUCH better pasta choices at cheaper prices (and some of their stuff is made in-house). I guess you get what you pay for with the chain game - and it's not usually my favorite, but I do love the endless salad and breadsticks. I typically get the eggplant or chicken parmigiana, and the rest of my family often get things like chicken fetuccini alfredo or one of the seafood dishes. Setting: Bright, and not too crowded. Decent decor. We often show up on a Friday or Saturday night around 6pm, and we've never had to wait more than a few minutes for a table. Parking can sometimes be pretty full, but there are always spots out back. Tables are a decent distance apart. Quality: Always good. Breadsticks are always delicious-- salty/ garlicy without being overwhelming. The salad is always good, and there are usually a good number of olives and tomato slices in with the (iceberg) lettuce. Main dishes are always hot and fresh, and even the fish is quite good. Honestly, we've never been disappointed-- everything is prepared as we'd want it. Yes, it's not "true" Italian, but sometimes you just want some sauce-drowned fried deliciousness (or equivalent, depending on the dish). Value: Fair. It's certainly not expensive. Service: Decent. A few times, we have felt a bit "forgotten" right after first being seated (like no one thinks it's their table), but it's always fixed when we ask. Servers are always friendly & helpful, and they do check on us, though we do occasionally run out of a drink or something and have to flag someone down for a refill. But for a crowded chain place rather than a luxury local restaurant, I'd say it's very fair. Synopsis: We like it! I dare say I'm even a fan. My kids certainly likes it, which keeps me happy. I ordered the Seafood Alfredo and a bunch of other items. The Shrimp and scallops were clearly microwaved and not sautéed. Instead of arguing and them doing something worse to my food in the back, I just took it home and sautéed the seafood myself. The other food came out fine. The only reason that I'm giving this establishment one star is because of the true Olive Garden experience. Let me just start off by saying this is not the true fine dining Olive Garden experience you were anticipating. The first time I went I was denied my unlimited soup and salad because I didn't say "I explicitly wanted unlimited soup and salad". These were absolutely mortifying words to hear from my server that lovely afternoon. The second time I went, yes I went back because you can't judge a Pazooki by its ice cream, our sever denied us of our god given Olive Garden rights. She kept only bringing us out only TWO. YES YOU HEARD ME RIGHT two breadsticks at a time! What a catastrophe, not to mention one of the lightly buttered salt glazed sticks had a bite taken out of it! So came in with my family. Thought it would be a good time out for my mother. Giving this restaurant a 4 due to the great manager. It wasn't an impressive evening with our waitress so I spoke with the manager about her on our way out and the manager thanked us for bringing it to her attention, asked for us to come back and they will work to give us a better experience. Our waitress was not very attentive. Took forever to bring drinks, refills, breadsticks, food, to go boxes. She brought the check but it wasn't in a holder. The manager later mentioned that the restaurant went away from the Card/bill holders. Hmm. Ok. She said "who is taking care of the check", instead of maybe "here is your check, no rush and if you need anything else, please let me know." Also, She never offered to clear plates out of the way as the meal went on. Definitely not normal for a waiter/waitress that's on the ball. My coworker and I stopped by for lunch on a Sunday. When asked how long it would take to be seated, we were given a 15-20 minute wait time. Gave the host our name and in return we received a buzzer. Good thing I paid attention to the little ad on it because it stated that while waiting, we can head to the bar and have any glass of wine for half price! We absolutely took advantage of that. The bartender was fantastic, even though it was brief as our buzzer vibrated probably 8 minutes into waiting. We were seated in a spacious booth. There was nothing too spectacular about this dining experience. I ordered a build your own pasta: angel hair with creamy pesto sauce and vegetables. The sauce was mediocre at best. The bread sticks and salad were great. Can't forget about the 1/2 priced glass of wine. My coworkers lasagna looked okay. Unfortunately, the biggest downside was our server. I did not catch a name as his name tag was blank. It just seemed as though he did not care to be there.
