William Holland really is a unique place full of some really talented, kind, and knowledgeable individuals that are willing and wanting to share what they've learned about the craft. One main thing that's impressive about the week-long courses here is that it costs less than a typical hotel room and you get the class, a room, and 3 meals a day! You seriously can't beat that. All of the instructors are volunteers, meaning they are incredibly passionate about what they do to be here and spend their time teaching full-day classes. My favorite course was inlay with Chuck Bruce- he's really the best teacher I've ever had! Not only is he a talented jeweler making a living off of his work, he knows to to explain things very well in thorough demos. You can tell how excited he is about the class and his devotion to his students. The landscape in the mountains of north Georgia was a great escape from flat Florida and I loved the sweet smell in the air here.
