After a five minute wait outside in the freezing cold we were eventually let in to what is essentially a small room with women's apparel and another tiny room behind it with menswear. The clothes are amazing quality and not just reams of eighties gear like you find in the market, there are some lovely 1940s and '50s pieces here. It is so expensive though, the bag and dress that I liked were each £150 so i swiftly made me way to the door. Its expensive but if you needed something really special this is a good place to go.

Sure, the doorbell system is a bit wanky, but with clothes like this, it's easy to see why they need to monitor who comes in and out. The shop is tiny - but they have packed it with more stuff than you could believe could fit in such a small space. It's got an absolutely superb range of vintage things - from 1920s sequinned flapper dresses to some phenomenal 80s snakeskin boots. Sure, it's pretty expensive but some places have to be, right? Last time I was here, Kate Moss was also browsing. Only difference was she could afford to buy things, whereas I could not!

I love the original home furnishing side where you will find stylish accessories, lighting, chairs, drawers and shelves crammed in at full capacity. I find the clothing shop in contrast rather dull and uninspiring. The collections seem to merge into each other as a muddy mass (with the colourful spark of Orla Kiely occupying one rail) Mrs Robinson's fashion is however, normally quite popular. Maybe it is just not my shop.

Mrs Robinson is one of the most eclectic and funky furniture shops London has to offer. I must admit, most everything in this store is pricey. Don't think you're going to buy a really amazing lamp in here for under twenty quid, you better bring some dough. If you're into really inventive and stylish home décor and you're willing to spend £50 on a really nice piece then have a look in this store. You will be impressed.

This store does not produce the typically "mass market" merchandise. Their sales (try just after Christmas) are worthwhile - lots of great finds for discounted prices. Surprisingly, the service is very attentive and willing to help and accommodate you - this is highly unusual for anyplace in England! A must visit if you're looking for some great fashion at reasonable prices.

The Flag ship store on Argyll Street always has the most amazing window displays definitely drawing the attention of the crowds. The store itself I always feel lacks a natural flow of energy. To get upstairs you have to walk half way round the ground floor. I know this is to get people through the shop and to see more. It is a large store and the staff are ok but not overly helpful and always tend to be speaking amongst themselves with no regard for the customer. Upstairs I always enjoy, lighter atmosphere with glass panels and the changing rooms are spacious.

Anyways, for London, Jigsaw is one of those instant fashion houses that has affordable as its trademark. While affordable London style is a little bit pricier than affordable US style, this shop has a nice inventory and some nice things to update a winter drab wardrobe. Lots of lighter fabrics, bright and cool colors with not too much of an investment factor. Had some nice clothing and accessory items for nice gifts, too.

While I do love the department stores along Oxford St, they get a little same-y after awhile…read more House of Fraser often leaves me feeling this way when I enter in to yet another white main floor of cosmetics and fragrances but I think this has some fun great concessions in the basement. I have had endless hours of pleasure just wandering around the stationary or makeup or clothing of the various little nooks and placements in the lower level. I feel that the main store is too similar to other department stores to really set itself apart on the other floors much but the lower level is absolutely the saving grace for this department store.

I like Paul Smith's use of colour and print in his fashion designs so when I found out he also has…read morean antique shop full of curios finds I thought I'd take a look. This wonderfully expressive shop in West London is full of furniture and other home antiques that have all hand picked by Paul and his team of aesthetically appreciative little helpers. It's certainly very expressive of his individual taste and even the huge flower print wallpaper is characteristically charming. Some of the items are in their original state, with just a touch of refurb conservation given to spruce them up, whilst others have been upholstered with his own fabrics to give them a modern and very attractive new lease of life. There are also some quirky paintings hanging on the walls and my particular favourite, the mirrors, are something really special. Everything is a one off find so whatever you buy is guaranteed to add a talking point to your home. It's a very modern and sleek take on the olde worlde curiostity shop, so you end up 'oooooohing' and 'ahhhhhhhing' your way around, imagining how great THAT beautiful French rosewood chest-of-draws would look in your house. Unfortunately I've had to keep the land of Paul's furniture in the fantasy dolls house of my mind, as you can imagine, it's all relatively expensive reflecting the pieces unique appeal. People in Uxbridge usually go there to shop for gifts or if they are looking for an item for a special occasion. Everybody in Uxbridge will vouch for how good this shop is. It's on a different level then any other shop in Uxbridge.

It sells jewellery and clothing, and is a wonderful place to shop for unusual gifts for women. The staff are friendly and helpful, and there is always something new to see in the store. I think their prices are reasonable, and I have never failed to find a suitable gift there.
