The owner did not visit the property to provide a quote and instead relied solely on photos. He then requested a 10% deposit before even meeting in person or reviewing the job onsite -- something he claimed was required by California law, which is incorrect. We declined to pay any deposit without a proper estimate or consultation. We also found that the pricing he offered was not competitive -- it was similar to what other tree service companies quoted, many of whom provided more professional and responsive service. We ultimately went with another company that came out the same day, assessed the job in person, discussed the project in detail, and gave us a quote -- all without requesting any upfront payment. When I informed this business that we chose a different provider, the owner responded in an unprofessional and defensive manner. There are many reputable tree service companies in the area that offer free in-person estimates, no upfront fees, and have many strong reviews across Yelp and Google. I recommend exploring those options instead of this one. Feel free to message me directly if you'd like more details about my poor experience. Response to the owner: First, you were the one who suggested the price we agreed on via text message. Then you suddenly brought up a contract and a 10% deposit. You're incorrect in stating that a 10% deposit is mandatory in California--it's optional and up to the contractor. Many other companies don't require it. Also, I don't see why I should pay 10% upfront when we haven't even met in person and you haven't visited the job site. The other company already finished the job in half a day and took the payment after the job was completed.

They did a phenomenal job on this and they also did a waterfall feature that came out wonderful. The last project we had them do was a platform with pavers for our garbage cans. Apparently, the building's owner did not notify the tenants of the work. No problemo.. the guys had a job to do and did it very well. They were incredibly professional. They worked as a cohesive team for the entire day, resting only when they were allotted their legal breaks / lunch time. They were clean and very organized. Each employee was dressed appropriately & had all required safety gear - harnesses when climbing trees, work boots, long sleeved shirts & long pants, ear / eye protection, and hats when needed. Their equipment was well maintained. Attention to safety is very important to this company & its staff. The staff who worked this day spoke Spanish only, but were very friendly and went out of their way to make sure I had access to the garbage bins (actually, they took my bags to the appropriate bins - thank you!!). They also made sure I could exit the parking area easily because they positioned their truck & equipment with attention to detail. I don't know prices or any other details, but I recommend this business based on safety, respectful staff, and cleanliness. I saw only some of their finished work and it was obvious that they understand trees & other plants.
