What an odd experience this place was. I came to get some food and a drink a bit later one night. The bar was packed with some regulars treating it like it was their own clubhouse. They were loud, all over the place, and acting like children. The staff seemed over it but without any other customers in the dining room were front row for them too. This group of 20 adults spread out all over the bar and we're making it hard to enjoy. The staff seemed off too. They didn't smile or seem to give too much concern about taking care of me. They felt disconnected and distant...is the only way I can describe it. Very unusual feeling as a guest. Food and drink were ok. I had a chicken sandwich, salad, and fries with my cocktail. Walked in this afternoon to have lunch about 1 o'clock on a Sunday. Sat down and the music was so loud I couldn't even hear my wife across the table. So then she gets up, walked around the corner and tells me "look at the table. It's disgusting." And I looked down. Yep there's four forks and napkins and menus, but the table is covered in smeared food everywhere. so we get up and go to another table, same thing. Needless to say, we left and went somewhere else. It was a busy day here. First time here. I gues there was some kind of Christmas bar crawl going on. We first sat at bar got a drink right away. But then we seen a table open up. The table was in the back corner so we could see everything. It was nice to see all the people dress up in Christmas outfits. We waited a long time for a server. I even went back up to bar to ask for a server to come to our table. When one finally came by, we ordered. It took quite awhile for our food to come up. I feel like we were forgotten, however there were alot of servers rushing by us, no one willing to stop. We were there probably about 2.5 hours for just a burger and a canzone. The food was really good. And the drinks we got we great. I guess just try and find a day and time that they don't have alot of things going on near by to get a good experience. If based of food I would give 5 stars, based on experience 2 stars.. i feel like restaurant should have better staffed and organized. read more

Start with the positives- the food was good and the atmosphere was very cool. I had a bad experience- I understand being busy and I'm not one to bash someone who's just having a busy day. Our waitress Ava rolled her eyes multiple times while taking our order. And I'm not sure if she was super busy- But she took forever to get back to us for simple requests. I couldn't see her taking other tables than mine and the one next to ours. Also only chose to refill my water and not my GFs, that's relatively minor. Just could do without the attitude. Yes it sucks but waiting a long time to have the check and get going, but the attitude is the problem. Other than that this restaurant is a solid place. read more

Not much is open on Sundays anymore, but Olivers is. We got seated right away. Decent selection of beers on tap. We got pizza, my husband got the chef and asked for spinach instead of onions and I got the Bethey which is pepperoni and onion but I asked for no cheese, no problem. What we experienced from this restaurant on 11/8/2025 was like no other. First I wanna say the Christmas decorations were really nice and cool BUT if you want someplace to eat DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT EAT HERE. first of all the food is overpriced trash the pizza burger was mid and the fries were average but that's not the main problem, the main problem is my brother ordered the 15 piece wings with waffle fries and buffalo sauce and some other sauce I forgot. my mother got the tenderloin, and I got the pizza burger no one was impressed with the food but when we got into our 30 THOUSAND dollar truck we had just gotten 8 hours ago my brother PUKED all over our truck. And that's not all we all went to bed after cleaning up the mess and my mom woke up in the middle of the night feeling really sick, very cold and feverish with dizziness. Now me 24 hours now have a bubbly stomach and am now nauseous with a headache. And to also mention it was extremely crowded that Saturday night and there was barely any room for the employees to even walk due to them having so many tables crowded together. Great spot for a casual meal! This bar and grill has a convenient outdoor seating area that's perfect for sitting outside on a nice day. The atmosphere is laid-back, and the service is attentive without being intrusive. The food has been a little on the overdone side the last couple of times that I've visited, but I enjoy the atmosphere so much that it's okay. I'll be back again another time. read more

Didn't try the food so can't comment on that but my five star rating is for the drinks and experience tonight! Parking lot was full but we were easily able to find street parking nearby. Walked in with a group of four and it was pretty busy but we were able to get a table almost immediately. The waitress was very nice and never kept us waiting long. We were able to get in, enjoy our drinks, and leave without it taking too long. Tried drinks off the holiday menu tonight and they were so good. The rockin rudloph cocktail is really yummy if you're looking for a fruity drink, there's quite a bit in the glass too and the cranberries were a nice touch! But my absolute favorite was the spiked hot chocolate. Normally, not a fan of hot alcoholic drinks but this was so pleasant! You don't taste the alcohol at all and it was so perfectly sweet with a generous amount of marshmallows. The Christmas decorations were beautiful as well, gave it a nice Christmas in a cabin sort of feeling. Disappointing experience on a Wednesday night. I ordered dinner for my wife and I for carry out online. I ordered a cheese burger with cheddar well done with waffle fries, 7" Hawaiian pizza, and a half chef salad with extra pepperoni , shredded cheese. The menu states the chef salad has romaine and iceburg lettuce. The bartender verified the extra toppings I wanted. I get back home and find just shredded iceburg lettuce in the salad. No pieces of iceburg or romaine. Plenty of toppings but hardly any lettuce. The French dressing is good. Huge disappointment on the lettuce! The 7" pizza was more like a 4 inch pizza. The pizza pieces we did get were good. The pizza had diced square pieces of ham with small pieces of canned pineapple. The burger is a ok size and cooked well done as we requested. The burger was still moist and waffle fries are good. I like the ambiance here and it was bingo night. A lot of people were there. The experience was just not a good one. I would recommend never getting a salad here. Order a bigger pizza than 7". Definitely order the waffle fries. read more

I actually enjoyed the roasted veggie salad way more it was out of this world with like a sweet strawberry balsamic and side of hummus came with it. This place is awesome! My review is based on my experience consuming beer and pizza in the beer garden on a hot summer day, Friday, June 15, 2018. The beer garden is a beautiful space for gathering with friends or family and listening to great live music! Plenty of space! The beer garden bar is in a great location, which makes ordering additional drinks a very smooth process. The bathrooms are not too far from the beer garden and they are clean. The staff provided above and beyond customer service. The staff was always quick to serve and check on us to see if we needed anything additional. General Manager Pete was one of the nicest guys I've ever met in my entire life. Now to the food. I enjoyed a Hawaiian pizza and it was absolutely delicious. I couldn't eat it all. The next day leftovers were just as good if not better than when it was first served! Some of the best pizza I've ever had. I will be telling my family and friends about how wonderful this place is. We've tried a few times to experience Olivers and each time it has never worked out. The host would always seat us in the corner.. Each time, nobody would come by, even after 15 mins. Everyone else would get service right away. The food looked good, but we never were able to try it, as you can tell. Maybe one day. read more

We have given this restaurant three tries. In each case the service has been poor, food was mediocre, and it wasn't particularly clean. It's a shame as it is a great venue, and they invested in an outdoor patio that is quite nice. I hope they up their game someday. read more

The last 3 times I have been there the service was horrible and so was the food. We paid $13 for 3 "wings" and 3 burnt pieces of fryer scrap. The last time we were there it was a Sunday afternoon, not busy and all the staff were chatting at the bar except for one server who was hustling. No teamwork, no smiles, took 15 minutes to get a menu and the food didn't come out at the same time. We weren't the only patrons that were unhappy. Two other tables were in the same predicament. Went on a Friday night just in time for live music. The atmosphere is great, they have a huge beer garden and outdoor bar. Food was good too, the pizza is definitely the thing to get. The fried cauliflower was equally good and certainly up there with some of my favorite bar food in general. The service was the low point. I feel like there were not enough servers for what is obviously peak capacity on a Friday night. It took forever to even see our server, let alone get another drink (it's definitely quicker just to walk up to the bar). I don't think it was our servers fault as we could see he was working on at least five tables with 3-4 people each, plus I have feeling he had more tables around the corner where we couldn't see. Since slow service is a common complaint, I can certainly see what people mean. Definitely check it out, just don't try to get anywhere quickly after that. read more

Really disappointed with the overall experience of Oliver's in the heights. We have loved going to the location in North Peoria for years and thought we would have a similar experience, but were left disheartened. We knew the menu items varied compared to the other location but did not expect the quality to also vary. Staff acted as though we were an inconvenience to them and when we raised concerns about the validity of our drink orders were told to take it up with the bar tender directly. To top it off, we had ordered a half Hawaiian and half pepperoni pizza and received a full Hawaiian pizza. When we brought it to the attention of the waiter he said he would bring out an additional small pepperoni free of charge (only ended up being 1/2 off). When he brought out the pizza almost 30 minutes later, there was but a single pepperoni on the entire pizza. We will be sticking to the Oliver's in north Peoria as this was quite an underwhelming experience. read more

I've always been a huge fan of Oliver's, and it's only gotten better with the new management these last couple years. It's one of the more down-to-earth places to visit in the heights - complete with great food, beer selection, and a really great, friendly staff. They've done a great job with their covid-response, such as digital menus and requiring staff and those yet to be seated to wear masks. They also expanded the outdoor section with the beer garden. They have lots of heaters for sitting outside and even a fire pit! read more

Pizza was good, but we had to wait 2 hours for It. After we ordered and waited an hour, they told us the kitchen was backed up. I get that, but it took forever for drinks and our apps too. The manager was walking around but he never stopped to apologize to us even after stopping at some other tables around us. He actually seemed pissed that customers were mad at the wait. I normally don't write reviews, but since I have been sitting at Oliver's waiting for a beer, I just felt the need to get it out. I really enjoy the pizza!! However, service is absolutely terrible. If this had been the first time I was here and received bad service, I would not be writing this review. This is the third time in a row that service has been horrible and pretty-well non-existent. It appears that if you sit at the bar, you can receive drinks. If you are at a table, forget it..... When we first entered, we weren't greeted for about 10 minutes. Once a wait person came to the table, I asked for a beer list. I was told that there wasn't one because the owner has been in Jamaica for the past two weeks and hasn't created a new one. Evidently, the place does not have a manager who can type on a computer and print out a list. I really want to come back for the pizza, but am getting really frustrated with the poor service. read more

Food is delicious and love the atmosphere! What I do not love is the terrible service. Was there on 5/26/23 with some friends. We sat at the bar. It was relatively busy. At one point there was 2, 3, and 4 bartenders at any given time. The horseshoe shaped bar isn't huge maybe seats 6-8 chairs on either side comfortably. 3 sides times 6-8 chairs. Service was awful! No rhyme or reason. I was ignored several times and overlooked to other customers that had ordered after me. I could have have tended that bar by myself and moved faster than all 4 of these bartender together! I should not have to wait 20 min for a drink when I have my money up and empty glass. Especially when there were maybe, maybe 8 people total sitting at the bar at that point. I watched as a couple was frustrated that they had been trying to pay for a pizza they had ordered an hour prior! They finally walked out without their pizza. At one point I asked the male bartender if I could please order food. He looked at me, said yes and walked away. Finally he came back to me 10-15 min later and asked if I needed anything! I said yes I'd like to order my food now! Idk if these bartenders are new, or if they were drinking or possibly stoned, but I can't tell you how many times I was looked at and ignored! I work in the service industry, and the service here is by far the worst I have ever experienced. read more

I'm sorry that I can't recommend Oliver's in the Heights. I went last week to pick up some carry out food that we had ordered. When I walked in, I saw that the young man behind the bar had no mask on. He was wearing a neck gaiter, but it was down around his neck. Even when I had to approach him to tell him our name, he left it around his neck. I walked to the back in order to use the restroom while I waited for our food, and I passed three tables of people, none of whom had masks on. They were not eating or drinking. Their tables were spotless, and they were talking together with no masks on. I didn't even see a mask near any of them. If you have anyone in your household or life circle who is even remotely close to being in a vulnerable category, do not go here. As for the food, we had two pizzas - a veggie and a Hawaiian. The crust is crispy, and the pizza is not greasy at all. However, we could see or taste none of the veggies. It looked and tasted simply like a plain pizza. I can not recommend Oliver's in the Heights and will not return. read more
