Not only does it sell new and used books, but also has free books on hand, as well as the option to swap...how cool is that?! They have a great kids area to play at or just get comfortable with a good book in their bean bag chairs. Their is a couch area and tables on hand for the adults as well...and free wi-fi to boot! Nice!!! It showcases and sells local artists work as well as provides a location for community meetings to be held, open mic nights (stage built and ready to roll already), and different programs to help children as well as a place to get the community involved as a whole. Wow! I was very impressed at all the hard work that was put into getting this amazing place off the ground! This place has SO much potential to make an incredible impact in an area that is longing for and needing more! To never have had a store dedicated solely to books before in the town of Murfreesboro, NC is a real travesty worth correcting...and this is where "Cultivator" has stepped in to save the day! This family has such a heart for their community, and can't wait to witness all the fruits of their efforts come to fruition! This is an exciting new venture that I wish every success to the "Cultivator" and all that they are trying to accomplish with its ever expanding list of things they are offering and doing in our local community to truly cultivate and help the people within this wonderful town called Murfreesboro and the surrounding Hertford and Northampton Counties in Northeastern NC.

They have a few chairs throughout & even a little reading nook, they also provide bags & even have small carts for you to use while you're there. The staff was very friendly & helpful finding books. They have a credit system when you bring in used books to go towards your purchases. They also sell puzzles, book marks, stickers & more small things. This has easily become my new favorite spot!

When I entered I was not expecting the number of books inside. This place is huge. The store was divided by genres and had a good selection of books. I am not sure what the pricing was like as I did not see a price on the books. It seems that most people trade books in and use store credit to get newer books. Besides used books, they had some new books and used puzzles. The Recycled Reader had dedicated parking spots for customers. I enjoyed the bank vault that was made into a colorful reading nook. The store is an asset to the community so check it out if you are in Elizabeth City.

Do not fall for the "free magazine subscription" SCAM. The sales associate ASSURED me NO, there is no charge or fee. After the trial is over they will mail you a card asking if you'd like to continue the subscription and only at that time would you have to make payment if you chose to continue to receive the magazines. I never received said card and never thought I agreed to be charged for a subscription I didn't really want!! I am now having to go through the trouble of canceling subscriptions AFTER they have already charged my bank which B-A-M gave them the information too. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED I was mislead and lied to.

At the front, they have a more rare books for a higher price. Staff was friendly and greeted me as soon as I entered the door, but did not bother me while I was walking around. They were out of the way but ready to assist when needed. It seemed like they had a few common customers as they were on a first name basis with several people who walked in the store! My only regret is not coming here sooner.

I chose the Iced Chai Tea which was delicious. Their drink prices are much less expensive than any other coffee shop I've been to in recent times. Their book selection is truly wonderful. Don't miss heading to the back left of the store where it continues to wind around with more selections.
