Relatives were in town so we headed downtown for some shopping and came across Fortney's on Main Street which had a sign in the window that said the business had moved 3 blocks away to Mound Street. We headed that way and found the Fortney Home which is an historic mansion filled with antiques and collectibles. The owner has filled the whole house with items and each room has it's own theme. Lots of high quality stuff for sale here. The owner is a longtime business owner in Nacogdoches and has had several different businesses over the years. Check it out! You will be surprised about how much stuff there is here.

I didn't find much other than a doll here though. For me these things are more like vases and those sorts of antiques. The man was very nice though as we had to find the cabinet I needed open and I got lost in the aisles. I did get a nice doll for only $10 so that's cool too. Parking is easy.

One checker and you could tell she wasn't into her job or customer service at all. Just going thru the motions. It wasn't just me complaining. The whole line was. At one point there were 9 people waiting forever and 3 people waiting on presales and 1 person waiting on an online order. It took my whole lunch hour to get a few little items. One lady said she would not return and the other said if she wanted to shop at Belk she would go to Lufkin. I'm not too sure I will be back!
