I come to this B&N frequently. It's a great place, there are only a few issues. One is that they…read morereorganize the books CONSTANTLY. You will go there once and return a few weeks later and it will look like a whole different store, which makes things difficult to locate. They also change what amount of a genre they have frequently. I use to come and they had DOZENS of classics in the penguin classic model. They would all be the little black penguin paper back, all together in one place. But now there are barely any classic novels on the shelves, and they no longer offer a large selection of the paperback penguin classics. They're all cloth bound, hardback, or leather. Which is pretty, but not super concert if you're not looking to drop 30-40 dollars on a book. They have a ton of YA books to choose from, but I rarely see many people wandering that aisle, it's usually the classic aisle that I see more people I have to squeeze through. Another issue is that the workers can get kind of annoying. I know they're just doing their job, and if they don't then they will probably get fired, but sometimes I will no joke have workers seeming to follow me throughout the store. One minute you're looking at Brontë and the next someone pops up, "Finding everything alright?". I get it, they can't help it but it gets a little strange. I was once in the section near the register looking at some of the Smithsonian books, and a worker was just lurking. Not stocking shelves, not arranging anything, just lurking. I had no idea why. She didn't even ask me anything, she was just watching me like a hawk. Surely she could trust I wouldn't steal anything-- those Smithsonian books weigh a ton! It was kind of creepy. This really is a good B&N though, only critique is the weird rearranging and harassment.

Awful customer service!!!! I have been a customer for years, the lady today that checked me out…read morenot only embarrassed me because it was crowded but convinced me why the summit B&N is definitely more professional.

*sighs* So it's a redesign huh. I went here today to get some socks. Where the heck are the socks?…read more Everything is different. I had to ask a employee. She was friendly and showed me where they are now by the shirts. She said it wasn't by their choice. I say stores need to realize we don't like when they do this. We know where everything is and We dont like wasting time trying to find it. The socks were thrown willy nilly and they didn't have as many as they used to have. I was looking for a book and of course they didn't have it. I did buy the book online * sighs again* Why do I even go in stores now ? I mean heck at least my book will b in a box right. Would it kill you to give someone a bag . I can see now that I will b going less here than I was already. I much prefer going to the other bookstore at the Summit . You were just closer and had socks . Too bad ...Now you dont even have many of those. Very disappointing. Ah well online gets my money again.

This location is not different! As you walk in, typical for and Books-A-Million, the staff is greeting you and asking if there is anything they can help you find. Great place to come for more than books, which they have a huge selection. If you are looking for games, something for a comic fan, seasonal stuff, things related to newest movies and tv shows, etc there is a good chance Books-A-Million will have something for you. Prices are typically pretty good and it seems like they are always running sales and promotions. If I'm in the area I won't hesitate to come by this store and would highly recommend to others.

If you haven't had one before you definitely need to get some. It's the chocolate chip cookies, but they're salted. It gives them a different flavor. You can go inside and get something to go or eat it there because they do have tables for people to sit at. We came here on Mother's Day around 5 PM on a Sunday and it wasn't really busy. I will definitely be back.

This was the spot we would all come to to do homework. It's still got that same warmth and charm. I came in on a Wednesday morning to sit and do some work. I ordered a cappuccino, bran muffin, and a breakup cookie to take home. The cappuccino is just as expected. Served at the perfect temp, great flavor. The bran muffin, which was my attempt to be healthy, was really a delicious stand-out. I would definitely get that again. And, of course, the breakup cookies are some of the best cookies in town. They bake all of the baked goods in-house, I believe, which gets a round of applause from me. A lot of the recipes are still the same ones I remember from 7 years ago. One thing I noticed that's even BETTER than I remember was the books and gift selection. A lot of the books caught my eye. It's a great curation of fiction, non, memoirs, birding books, children's, etc. They also carry the Village Apothecary candles, which are made locally and have some packaging I really love. Church Street is one of the Birmingham staples. I hope they're open for a million more years. They do what they do exceptionally well.
