Cecil came out, gave us good choices on material as they are restrictions. Combined with this the price was far better than the other quotes. The quality was equal to or better than the others. The material was Sunbrella, and the frame very heavy duty. Installation was very efficient. Once installed the bedrooms off the back deck cooled down and in the evening enjoy the view and front deck. Sybil is professional, diligent and prompt. She was able to secure us a one day installation... and it looks amazing. To top it all off, they were better priced than their competitors. One of the attractive features of the home was that it had a new roof installed by City Wide Decks & railings, earlier that year in April 2023. The previous owners spent $50,000.00 for a new torch-on flat roof, vinyl deck replacement and new handrails. On Friday April 26th, 2024 just one year after the work was performed there was water leaking from the ceiling in the master bath. There was enough water to warrant a bucket so that it didn't leak through to the main floor. I felt comfortable knowing that the roof still had a warranty on it, so my partner phoned Paul that morning, and left a message and sent an e-mail. There was no response. It continued to rain over the weekend, so he called again today, April 29th. No response from Paul. I highly doubt we'll be hearing from Paul Bulat @ City Wide. Disgusting experience so far that gives small contractors a bad rap. I would warn anyone considering hiring Paul Bulat at City Wide Decks & Railings to stay away and look for a contractor that has been in business for more than 10 years. I've read some reviews that are pretty bad. I don't know why anyone would hire him.

When Bryce came through, we knew we wanted to work with him. While other contractors just asked us what we wanted, Bryce was excited about our home and the potential. He had creative ideas, and could come up with brilliant solutions where other builders had been stumped. He treated our project like it was his home and had the same standards for quality. He stands behind his work and made sure that the final product was something we loved. We re-did our kitchen, living room, stairs, floors and a bathroom. While a few small issues came up- as they do with all projects of this size- Bryce surpassed our expectations and issues were resolved efficiently and often ended up in an even better outcome. He advised us on where to invest and where we could find economical solutions. His high standards for quality extend to his team, and we were really happy with the sub-contractors (A+ to Norbert and Marty for excellent drywall/ impeccable mudding). Shawn and Travis were the two main Capilano guys on our crew and we couldn't have asked for a harder working team. Best of all, they were an absolute pleasure to have around.
