My experience with GAL Brenda Dahl during my interstate family court case from October 2025 through…read moreFebruary 2026 was deeply traumatic and, in my opinion, failed to reflect the seriousness of the evidence and concerns I presented regarding my child's wellbeing. During the case, I submitted over 300 pages of documentation, screenshots, and evidence that I believed demonstrated ongoing stalking, parental alienation, interference with my relationship with my child, and other concerning behaviors by the father. Despite the volume and seriousness of the material submitted, I felt repeatedly dismissed and unheard throughout the process. At one point during testimony, I was described as a "witch" on the court record, something I found deeply inappropriate and humiliating in a professional legal proceeding. I also recall being told in December 2025 that foster care placement was being considered after I reported abuse concerns, which left me feeling intimidated rather than supported as a protective parent attempting to advocate for my child. I was especially disturbed by the fact that major concerns involving the child's routine and wellbeing appeared unresolved. Even the GAL acknowledged concerns regarding the child not having a normal sleep schedule, not being in school, inconsistent medical care, and difficulties interviewing the child privately without the father monitoring nearby. Despite this, primary placement was ultimately granted to the father in February 2026 under the belief that it was in the child's best interests. As a mother involved in an interstate domestic violence and relocation-related proceeding, I felt many of the realities of my situation were overlooked or minimized. I also felt there was increasing hostility surrounding remote appearance issues despite the fact that all parties were aware I was no longer physically located in the state. After the case concluded, I filed a grievance regarding my concerns about the handling of the matter and did not feel that my complaint received meaningful consideration. This review reflects my personal experience and perspective navigating a highly emotional and life-changing custody case.
