They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, very beautiful and romantic ambiance. The menu is very large they have every Greek item you could think of and they even had other items like spaghetti, ribs, and much more. Food was phenomenal! The saganaki was amazing and the calamari was cooked to perfection. The salad was probably the best Greek salad I've ever had. The dressing was perfect and I love the amount of feta cheese on it. Just a personal preference but the tzatki was too thin for me. It's not the kind of Greek food I'm used to in Montreal. Glad others like it but it was missing something for me. I prefer thicker sauces and chunks of feta. Soup was bland, a little too thin for me as well. Service was nice. read more

First let me say the parking is pretty bad there's only a couple spots in the lot, so expect to park elsewhere. Besides that, I have no complaints. Upon entry, I noticed the low light settings, subtle decorations, and vibe was relaxing. The service was quick and the servers were very attentive. The place was packed but we sat down almost immediately. Once we got seated we ordered a beef kabob plate and beef and gyro combination. I enjoy how everything just pairs well. The entrees were served with salad, bread, and cheese. I can practically eat the bread by itself with the sauce and be satisfied with how good its taste. I can't see myself going to any other Greek restaurant because of how well it tasted. Food speaks for itself. I should've tried out the desserts. I actually called the restaurant that same day to share my feedback directly with a manager because I wanted to be heard, not to complain online. I was told no manager was on duty, but that someone would take my name and number and have them call me back. It's been a week, and I never received that call -- which is why I'm finally writing this. With the cost of living in San Diego, I allow myself one meal out a week -- usually on a long 10+ hour workday. That Wednesday, I ordered a salad from Olympic, requesting extra dressing and a side of tzatziki. When it arrived, there was no tzatziki (which happens from time to time), but more disappointing was that there wasn't a drop of dressing on the salad. Just dry lettuce and a tomato. It may sound small, but when that's your one meal of the day after a long shift, it really stings -- especially when it's not the first time it's happened. I didn't want a refund, a free meal, or to make a scene. I just wanted to express how disappointing it's been to see a restaurant I grew up loving lose its consistency and attention to its customers. Such a great spot! My girlfriend and I stumbled across Olympic Cafe while walking around the neighborhood and were surprised by how many people were waiting to be seated. That alone told us we had to try it, so we came back the next day. Our expectations were high and our stomachs were empty, and both were more than satisfied. Came here because they had a few greek items that most places don't have like the moussaka and pastitsio. I opted for the pastitsio, a casserole made of beef, penne pasta noodles with a layer of béchamel sauce on top. It came with a greek salad and roasted potatoes. I was very impressed with the greek salad as most places it comes with a very pungent vinaigrette dressing, this one was very mild and smooth. It also came with a whole slice of feta cheese like it does in Greece. The potatoes were tender and had a nice sauce over them. It also came with pita bread which was warm and fluffy. This was the first time I've had pastitsio so I have noting to compare it to but it was good and just as described, a ground beef casserole with a layer of béchamel on top. I liked the smooth layer of béchamel on top. It was similar to moussaka, but with penne pasta instead of layers of eggplant. It was nice to have something different than just gyros or kebab, and im glad I tried it. Service was friendly and prompt, there was a few parking spot outside but I easily found parking on the street just around the corner. Im not one to usually eat salads but this one was great because of the whole slice of feta but also the mild dressing. I'd also like to try either the Greek style chicken or the House Specialty Greek style chicken; the only difference is one is finished with lemon juice while the other is finished with lemon gravy. What a great place to have Greek Food in San Diego. Food was great, the lamb shank came with salad and pita. The combo gyro came with salad, pita, spanakopita (flaky spinach cheese pastry). The calamari was delicious, not too overly battered/greasy yet crispy, hot and thinly sliced so they were easy to chew. Over the food was delicious and the portions were generous with good prices. Service was great, the waitress came to refill water and asked which side of the table was wobbly so she can fix it. There are three places to eat in this restaurant, which includes, the inside, indoor/outdoor ventilated patio on the side and an outdoor patio facing the streets and parking lot. Inside is pretty loud and boisterous with large parties, the indoor/outdoor patio was a bit dark but with an ambience lit with candles. The outside was quiet and great for couples or those with pets. Dog friendly, as there was a water dish outside. They only have 6 parking spots and are easily grabbed as soon as a car leaves. It was my first time at Olymoic Cafe and they are definitely popular. We luckily got seated in under 5 minutes. We got seated on the indoor patio to the right after you enter and it had nice ambiance. We enjoyed some basic Greek food: gyro, pita, falafel. Next time I will try the feta fries, because they look so good. Dang trying to make "good choices" and stay healthy. The pita, gyro and falafel was fresh, well made. I got the Greek salad and it was piled high with gyro meat. It was impressively generous. The salad was ok, the lettuce may have been in the salad dressing for awhile and didn't seem freshly tossed. But the rest of the food was excellent. I appreciated the friendly waitress who was very smiley and seemed genuinely happy. It is always nice to go to a restaurant with happy staff. We had one weird experience: a man walked around to each table and said "God bless you." I don't think he worked there. He said it and quickly moved to the next table, saying it at each table. Sometimes you just wish the management had body guards. These days, you don't know if someone is stable or looney tunes. Unfortunately he came back about 30 minutes later and said it again.
