First time at a Korean spa. I booked the Goddess treatment. I knew what to expect but it wasn't a relaxing experience at all. It's a well-oiled machine but not a personalized experience. You just feel like a number and everything felt very rigid and methodical. Also, if you are a germaphobe like me, it won't be relaxing. Even if it's your first time, you won't get a tour and just left to figure it all out on your own. It was too loud. Between the chatty people in the showers, the loud splashing water and pools, and masseuses having conversations, it felt very chaotic. The wet beds don't have the donut pillow for your head. I already had neck pain, which is why I decided to go to the spa. My neck felt strained until I was able to switch to my back. They don't use high quality products. For the price, I thought they would use better products. I looked over and noticed they use a blue bar soap for the scrub and Kirkland lotions/oils. The Osea products at the front are not what they use in the back. Also, I don't know how sanitary it is. The towels she put on my face smelled musty or like they didn't even use detergent. Also, given that everyone is naked, you would think they would disinfect the beds in between but they just throw a bucket of water on them. Bacteria thrives in wet environments. I was there long enough to witness no sanitation of beds in between customers. I immediately showered when I got home to avoid those products seeping into my skin or risk any skin reaction. The masseuse was kind but are all Korean massages this rough? Her technique was really rough and fast. I wish she slowed down. I think I was more stressed during the treatment. The scalp massage wasn't even a scalp massage. She added oil to my scalp and violently rubbed my head for about 5 minutes, if that. Maybe I was expecting a Japanese-like scalp massage. Slow, long strokes. I understand if this is how Korean massages are done. Maybe they just aren't for me as I prefer a quiet, slower, relaxing massage experience. If they want to charge luxury prices, they need to offer higher-end services. This was by no means a luxurious experience. The only highlight was the red light sauna and the salt sauna which I was able to enjoy prior to the treatment. read more

Newsflash: no bathing suits allowed here! You're gonna be nakey so just get used to it lol. One of the better women's Korean spas in town. Olympic Spa is on the larger side, with 3 pools (regular jacuzzi, mugwort and cold pool) a sauna and specialty rooms (Himalayan salt, infrared and oxygen). You get access to all of that For the $30 entrance fee to use the facilities. They also have offerings such as massages (I've heard they're not that great), facials and the oh-so-delightful body scrubs. Yup, you'll be splashed with water and scrubbed up the Ying yang to get all of that old dead skin off you. It's worth it, I promise. Since I've written that review on 2/24/2024, I was lucky to find another Korean spa that 1. Does not charge 20 percent tip upfront. 2. Cheaper. 3. Cleaner. 4. Not as crowded (sorry cannot disclose - but maybe something to consider - research!..) 5. Where the management is great/ they are flexible with adjusting time of the procedures. 6. You don't have to pay upfront. 7. has a restaurant!.. And there are probably more places like this. I believe we will see dozens of horrible reviews for 2024 for Olympic Spa. My vote is for their management to change completely - they have lost everything that was good about them. And every Korean spa does similar procedures, so nothing unique in Olympic. read more

Women only, sorry boys! I adore the salt room, steam and ice sauna. The scrubbing can be rough, but the eight layers they remove will leave you softer than a baby's bum. Lay on a slab amoung others, naked and vulnerable can be beautiful. The tender care of treatments with hot milk, oils and buckets of warm H2o will heal your soul. The chill areas are quiet and calming. Venture outdoors for some sunshine and self comfort. Get ready for a date here with all of the amenities you will need to look and feel your best for a night out. The private massages are incredible. In my history of spas, Olympic Spa is by far the "nitty gritty". I was scrubbed, massaged, and treated with grit and love at the same time. I received The Goddess, which involved a lot of everything. I'm a bit overwhelmed but in a good way. It's very clean, quiet enough, but the spas were a little over crowded. A few friends that made it a spa day which made things a bit not spa -ish, so I felt limited to the eminities. However, I left feeling(and looking)like a brand new shiny penny. Please go. I went back yesterday for the first time since the pandemic. I had the goddess massage. I got my usual masseuse Moon and the treatment was amazing. I understand they have less customers inside due to Covid but I'm not understanding how come it got so expensive. $60 more than before the pandemic. Yikes. $200+ tip. Or you pay for the membership which is super expensive, and you get 20% off. It's not a monthly service anymore. Sadly it becomes a splurge. read more

Improvements have been made and my recent experience was much better. There seems to be more of an effort from guest to keep the noise levels down, and an overall more respectful vibe. I finally worked up the nerve to try the Akasuri body scrub and I felt so relaxed afterwards. The milk and honey scrub is more of the "feel good" in the moment scrub, and will have your skin glowing, whereas the Akasuri is a little rougher, but will have you feeling deeply relaxed and renewed for hours. Both are great depending on what you wish to achieve. The mugwort pool is more appealing now as it doesn't have that dark murky color that gives the nervous feeling of stepping into the unknown. However, I did notice particles of something floating in the tea. In my mind it was skin, but hopefully not...eeks! The kitchen still serves up warm, hearty meals, I just wish they offered more vegetarian options (and not just tofu). You can't beat laying in the Himalayan salt room, and all of the other rooms and pools make for an amazing day of pampering and self-care. One of the best aspects of this spa is the diversity of women it's attracts; literally women from all walks of life, ages, races, ethnicities, and body types. I went and would say I am not overly happy. I ended up with a rash from the experience and have bumps from the bed where the service was performed. It was not a relaxing experience and people were talking and quite loud. The hives have no progressed to all over my body which would suggest that the place is not hygienic and needs better sanitary standards. I am very disappointed that I spent so much money for such an awful experience. I should have just gone to a spa in weho for the prices this terrible establishment thinks it can charge. I have gone to Olympic Spa over the years, and my most recent visit on July 31, 2023, was not a good experience. 1. The pools were nice. 2. I began waiting for my 2:15 facial appointment at 2:00 PM. At 2:15 an esthetician walked by saying, "Number 67." This went on for five minutes. At one point I even said to her, "I wish I was number 67." She replied, "Me too, because we cannot find number 67." 3. Shortly after that, one of the receptionists came over to me and said, "Miss *essi*, they're calling your number, number 67." She said it very curtly, and I replied, "My number is 65," showing her my bracelet. She did not apologize and extra time was not added to my facial. The esthetician showed me the yellow Post-it with the number 67 written on it. 4. Next, the area outside of the facial rooms is a nice place to relax, but there was an overflowing wastebasket with food and flies in it. I wish I had taken a picture of it. My facial was shortened, but okay. I think I will take a break from Olympic Spa, and to think I was close to purchasing a membership. A friend suggested I give Wi Spa a try. Olympic spa used to be my go-to Korean spa. They have renovated and expanded to a nice hang out for women only, which is a relief because a lot of their wet areas are... let me just say, all naked women. Treatments- a bit too hard scrubbing for my taste, even as a Korean I always tell them, "Soft!", facials and massages are heavenly, but sometimes I wonder whether they are trained masseuses... Sometimes the masseuses talk to each other at length, which makes me feel more like a bystander than the client! It's times like those when I object to mandatory 20% tip even before the service. Isn't that why the level of "service" got deteriorated? For such an intimate service where naked bodily contact is not for the shy, 20% should be the norm if you pay over 15% for waiters/waitresses (minimal service taking orders, bring food & beverage!). However, if the service was less than ideal, substandard, and downright rude, % tip should be the patron's discretion to consider! Finally, I have gift certificates I forgot to take with me for a long time, always having to pay myself. So when they raised the prices so drastically during the height of COVID, I remembered to take one of my gift certificates. With the gift certificate, I only needed to pay the tip! But -they asked me (including the mandatory tip) $95 dollars MORE! Same service! Can you believe that? I have more gift certificates, but I am boycotting them! So Only One Star . read more

Women's only spa!! Quite small but very clean and well-maintained. I came on a Thursday night and it was quite full! Entrance fee is $25 and you have access to spa facilities, locker, and robe. The service was very friendly. As this was my first time, a lady kindly gave me a mini tour of the spa facility and how to use their locker system. Just a note, after entering the wide doors and before the general locker area, you are required to take off your shoes in individual shoe lockers. Neat~ This place doesn't have a lot of spa rooms. They have Himalayan Salt room and Oxygen room outside the shower area. There are steam rooms inside the shower area but didn't do those because they were too hot for me. I liked how the Himalayan Salt room had sand timers and the oxygen room had a clock inside so that you could keep track of time. I don't have to bring my phone inside. Inside the shower area, there are naked women. In fact, you are required to take off all your clothes since this is a korean spa and you must shower before you enter any hot bath tubs. I like how Olympic Spa has numbered cubbies for you to temporarily store your towels and other personal belongings so that way you don't have to randomly place your stuff some shelf or floor (looking at you WiSpa). Probably unique to this spa is the Mugwort hot bathtub. It's brown colored because they steeped the water with Mugwort tea and it smells nice! Overall not a bad place but it's pretty small. read more

This place requires you to sign up on line. You can't just book an appointment if you haven't signed up online. You must enter a credit card to sign up, the options are so limited and dated. You can't use Apple Pay or PayPal. You must enter your credit card in there system. They really need to offer more options than what was available in 1960. read more

I had been a client at the Olympic spa since 2003 and have personally brought them at least a dozen new clients. I know all my friends brought all their friends too. This place used to be like my church! Rarely did a month go by without being there at least once.There was a time when I went almost once a week. The scrubs? Magic. The red room? Glorious and I swear they are one of only two ladies spas in LA... the cold pool was icing on the cake. I'd spend at least 4 or 5 hours every time I went. Cue Covid and now the prices have MORE than doubled, seems the food is gone, (they had the best Bulgogi) they killed the mugwort which was totally unique and good gracious the cost of a membership is a kick in the teeth. I am crushed. Absolutely crushed. I'd give it a one star but thats just being bitter. I'll miss this place but you have to recognize when your business is no longer wanted. I hope they change their business model back someday. I get that they have to raise the price but that membership just cuts too deep. So disappointed! We went for my Birthday and it was clean. We met many members and visitors and that was the highlight. Our massages were not until 2:15 pm and we had arrived at 10 am to enjoy the spas' and saunas. At 12 pm we decided to go get a nice lunch and come back for our treatments. They told us we could not leave as they had issues before, I offered to give them $500 cash which was more than our bill would be and they said no we could not leave. So we were very hungry neither of us had breakfast and by the time we left it was 4 pm. Have you ever had a $200 massage and all your body wants is some food. Oh and the tip is auto whether you enjoyed your treatment or not??? They can keep their membership, if that's how they treat people, no thank you. read more

This used to be THE spa in LA. My girls & I would go every Sunday to hang out, eat, & get treatments. That was pre-covid. Post covid their is no kitchen sadly. They ditched their wormwood bath (literally the best) for another hot tub (why do you need two?) & you now are required to a buy a marked up(they raised prices) spa service to enter. I got an hour massage & with tip it somehow came to around $300. I still had to go next door after to eat cause I was starving after. I'm sorry but that's just not worth it. I got a shiatsu Massage for 130$ / 55 min , I wish they would tell you upfront that there also was a 20% mandatory tip . the restaurant is gone, but there is some free snacks, and you can have food delivered. They added a ice room and got new robes, if you need an XL you have to request a larger one at the front.. There isn't simple entry price anymore either, only treatment price +20% tip . I recently went back after a while, treatments are amazing as always but...receptionists should tell EVERYONE upon checking in, that they must shower before entering the pools or saunas. That's the reason why I stopped going there in the first place, I'm sitting in the hot tub and have to watch countless people walking in and jumping straight in the water without even looking at the shower. That is disgusting ;/ I pointed that out when I left but they didn't seem to care. In be addition to that, there's no peace. I love Olympic spa ! I just popped back after moving to Colorado. Prices have doubled! Omg .. miss the mugwort bath. Loving the big jugs of fruit water and the chilled towels in bowls of ice. Had the pure bliss which is one of my favorites.. One most disgusting points is in the toilet / bidet the nozzle that is supposed to hose off your privates was covered in poop. Olympic spa is where I go to relax and wind down after a long week. Highly recommend the pure bliss treatment. Don't forget to take a book if you're an avid reader like myself and lay down to read it on the heated jade floor (where I usually end up taking a nice little nap as well -- so hard not to with such a perfect setting!). Usually, I love this place. But lately, the price of admission went up and the services didn't get any better. In fact, there's two things make visits there less pleasant now. First, the manicure that they offer. I don't know if anyone tried it yet, but if you didn't and want to try - please don't waste your money. The lady named Lily completely ruined my nails, she spend 1.5 hours on French manicure and the attached picture is the result. My nails are brittle because she used half of bottle of acetone trying to correct her screwups and at the end my nails still look like someone dipped them in royal icing. This cost me $45, ladies and gentlemen. The second thing is the mugwort bath. They added so much chlorine to that thing that my finger tips immediately became creased. It kills all the benefits of the bath so that was a bit disappointing. The food there is great, massage is pretty good too. Overall, I would recommend this place for a weekend spa visit. Just don't get manicure and don't get excited for mugwort bath. read more

Sadly, I need to rate this spa so low now. They changed their pricing so that there is a tiered (membership) pricing. As I don't live in Los Angeles, this type of pricing neglects customers such as myself. Olympic Spa is usually my first stop when I arrive in Los Angeles, but the last 2-times, the scrub (pure bliss) were underwhelming. No sloughing of dead skin (both cathartic and gross) occurred which is the essence of a Korean scrub. The massages were lackluster. Korean scrubs are known to be meticulous and they were haphazard. I noticed that the automatic 20% tip to the service has it so that the treatments have drastically reduced the quality of service (perhaps just a coincidence tho'). I also don't appreciate that tip is automatic--I typically range my tip from 15%-30% based on the service as the tip should be a reward. The renovations did not add to the experience of the spa (I rarely see anyone within the veranda) but the treatments fees have become extravagant based on their previous pricing. Sad update. Olympic spa had the best treatments and I used to love that no matter who the "scrub therapist" were, they were stellar. The price was great for what one received. I'll be searching for another k-spa during my trips to LA. Disappointed. read more
