Once the counter opened, we were instructed to line up based on seat types: business or coach. Going through the custom was quick and easy. Though they don't stamp anymore, the agent was very nice to stamp it for us since it was my daughter first time out of the country and re-entry. The train ride will last for 4 hrs and 25 mins. We got food from Ekki Sushi so we could eat dinner on the train.

Affordable, timely, spacious and clean. Damn efficient I may add. Let's just put it this way, if I were to drive from Coquitlam to Vancouver during rush hour, it would give me a numbing irritable experience as likely I would to have deal with impatient drivers, stuck in grid lock and deal with bumper to bumper traffic. Hop on the skytrain then take the connecting bus, no headache and no stress. And it is even FASTER and CHEAPER!!! So what is there not to like. Sure, the impatient teenager me once thought riding transit was terrible, cuz I haven't yet been stuck on Highway One due to some jackass thought he was clever and can be quick weaving in and out finally causing a multiple pile-up blocking all lanes. I'll take the skytrain over driving any day especially during rush hour.

Finally, a decent way to get from downtown Vancouver. Sure we're all paying through the nose for…read morethis line, but I'm sure most people would agree that this line is WAY overdue. With that said, I still can't believe they had to tear up those brand new bus lanes running (they were there for less than 2 years) down No.3 Road. The stations are nice and clean, though their size leaves much to be desired. There is barely enough room to stand around on the platforms. The trains are wider than those of the Expo line, but they're also much shorter (2 cars instead of 4). Also you can tell they cheaped out when the stations on the Richmond side literally jut out onto the freaking street. Would it really have cost that much more to slide the entire station 3m to one side? One thing I always like to do is sit at the front of the trains and look out the front window. If you haven't done this before, it's actually pretty cool. The biggest complaint I have about the Canada Line is the fact that the trains only run every 10 minutes or so. Compare that to the Expo Line (1 every 2 minutes) during rush hour. Having the signs that show the ETA of the next train is nice, but it really sucks when you look up and see that you still have to wait 7 minutes. And this is assuming you're not going to Richmond, because now there's a chance you're going to wait (literally) twice as long. With that said, the YVR leg is awesome. Vancouver is now the only Canadian city to have a direct rapid transit link to the downtown core. I'm sure many of the cabbies out there aren't too happy about this. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

As of the time of writing, there really isn't much at this location other than a few restaurants and other businesses. However, it does provide the closest SkyTrain access to the nearby QE Park and Nat Bailey Stadium.

Really busy SkyTrain station at the intersection of Commercial and E Broadway…read more Even though they've done quite a few improvements over the years including the addition of a 3rd platform, this thing still gets seriously packed during rush hour, when the hordes all pile in trying to get into or out of downtown. I still get confused here and there trying deal with the Expo line. Be sure to follow the signage. One peculiar thing I've noticed is that people will zip through the train (in one side and out the other side) to skip to an adjacent platform. Haven't figured out what they're trying to do just yet. Guess I shouldn't really be complaining. Busy is good.

Finally had a chance to see what they are planning to implement moving forward on the new fare 'gate' system, and I will hold judgement till they are fully implemented, as I see a log jam that will be happening during peak hours. This station is a corridor, as it has an intersecting station (Commercial) where the Millenium line comes in. Also in the busy weekday mornings people line up on Broadway to catch the B-Line to UBC. The amount of people that come through here is (for Vancouver standards) a lot! This area was definitely a lot darker back in the day, with people begging for money around the station, and the normal small drug deal around the corner, with the addition of the Millenium line brought some new businesses that cleaned up this place. The station does look it's age on the old Broadway side but it's an important station for Transit. During the peak hours just remember your lining up, whether it's for the next train, or the next bus, just remember to try to be couteous to others, and let others off first before you go charging up onto your transit option!

Surprisingly small SkyTrain station at Oakridge (41st and Cambie)…read more There is only 1 entrance. Hopefully they improve access once the new Oakridge complex is complete. The platforms are definitely on the smaller side too. Great for connecting with R4 (41st Avenue), as well as getting to the airport.

Its definitely a very clean station. There are a few areas where I am confused. I mean heading to…read moredowntown you would have to go downstairs and once you are downstairs you would have to go back upstairs to the other side. I mean that is a lot of walking. The station is underground and this is a plus. I like the fact that Oakridge mall is just upstairs which means that this station is located in a good location. Very convenient.

(Northeast corner)…read more Yeah, I live close to here and would not worry about pulling up in the alley to wait for someone. The transit police car is usually parked there, but I never see them around. The station still has some shiny new parts (pic included). There appears to HAVE been a Jugo juice in there. Why it was not successful is beyond me, considering the amount of Langara College student traffic there is. I did see a food truck outside the other day, but IDK if it is going to stay. So this station is pretty boring, but try not to be around when school starts or ends otherwise you end up waiting in a looooong line for the #49 bus. Fair warning!

There are a bunch of restaurants as well as some office buildings. With that said, there isn't too much in the surrounding area. Several bus lines also connect here at a loop next to the station.
