    Spanakopita
    J E.

I read such positive reviews about this place and since I absolutely LOVE Mediterranean food I stopped in while visiting the area. The ladies working the lunch shift on the day I went were pleasant. The menu is interesting, as they do some unique stuff with gyros and sauces on them, so I opted for the Habanero Hades and for a side, I tried their spanakopita. While waiting for the food, I noticed the napkins at the tables were paper towels removed from the roll and cut in half with scissors... rather odd. The gyro came out first and it was stuffed and looked decent, but it was a little on the salty side and definitely very dry. I had to go ask for more of their tzatziki to put on it. The tzatziki was unlike any I've had before as it was smooth, not chunky with cucumbers and garlic and other things in it and of those flavors. It was slightly bland, but had a decent heat. The Spanakopita was ok, nothing special. When I asked for more sauce, they actually charge $.86 for a small sauce cup of it, I found that odd too. Overall, I was middle of the road with this visit and thought I might try it again some other time to see if this visit was just a fluke, but when I got back to my hotel my stomach really didn't appreciate the food I just ate, which rarely happens to me. So, after that part of the experience too, I can't say I'll return.

Ordered takeout from here. My order was ready when I picked it up. One girl at the counter was very friendly, the other person looked annoyed. I ordered the Hades gyro and a side salad. The gyro was HUGE with a ton of meat and toppings. Very flavorful and good. The side salad was lacking - for $4.25 it was just a few pieces of lettuce and tomatoes, just thought there would have been more to the portion.

    "taziki sauce"

Had a decent size order for this place because I was douped by the reviews. The gyro meat doesn't taste like lamb, the taziki sauce was not taziki sauce it's some sort of salty feta water w spices. Fries tasted old, the kids chicken tenders were so dry they were overcooked and falling apart the only decent thing was the small Greek salad. Save your money go somewhere else. I wrote a Google review they responded too saying I ordered through door dash and we did not, we ordered online and picked it up. I feel these owners are the type that if you disagree they will try whatever they can to make themselves be in the right when in this specific case they are definitely not right.

Regular Gyro. Loaded with meat and toppings. Yummy

Looking for a quick lunch on the way to the airport. Right on Route 30 small little restaurant that does Gyros right. They have many variations of the traditional fillings but oh the fries are delicious. Sorry no picture of the fries but order a side to share with your table, btw no ketchup needed. If you are looking for a Gyro stop by.

Always a go to spot at our school when teachers get lunches on student free days. Always go with the habanero hades as the spice level of the sauce is pretty elevated but not palate numbing. Their specialty gyros come with fries on the bottom which makes it unique but the gyro meat itself is consistently stellar.

Ginormous gyros! The first time I came here I made the mistake of ordering 2 gyros - now I know I only need 1 and can split it and still have leftovers! Olympos is no joke - they make an awesome gyro! Their food is delicious and everyone I dealt with was super nice - I will definitely be back - glad for this location and so happy to have this as an option for lunch. Service is fast and food is great!

I stopped by Olympos while running errands and making some returns out in Robinson. The photos I took doesn't serve the gyro justice, it was huge!! Aside from the generous portions, there was a ton of meat and tzatziki which I love! Overall, I'm very satisfied with my experience and will be back when I have future errands to run!

Awesome gyro! I bet there was a point of gyro meat. Perfectly seasoned. Super nice staff.

My husband and I stopped by here after passing it for years and saying we have to try that place. My husband loves gyros and has been back several times since we finally tried it . It's a small little place with a few tables . You order at the counter . Hubby had a classic gyro and I had mine with chicken . Both were delicious . We especially loved the tzatziki sauce . It was the perfect consistency and packed with flavor . We added a side of fries to our order which was perfect amount to split . The 2 guys working couldn't have been nicer . Food came out quickly . My only complaint is they didn't have spanakopita on the menu.

Downey's House provided the local spot I needed. An ice cold Yuengling on draft went down very well, and while I didn't find pierogis on the menu, I settled for a phenomenal bowl of spaghetti & meatballs. Local marinara & meatballs made with the same recipe of the old Main Hotel that was in Carnegie for nearly 100 years. That bowl of pasta was SCRUMPTIOUS and just what I was after. I even talked my lovely wife into doing up her salad 'Pittsburgh style', which means adorning the salad with fries. And yes, it's as good as it sounds. Thrown in a protein like grilled chicken and that is a banger of a meal. Great dining area with a square-shaped bar and TVs with sight-lines in any direction. The service is friendly and helpful, and prices are probably lower than at some chain-y eatery that just makes your food via assembly line. It's local and sensational!

I ordered one of the specials (pot roast) and it was supposedly sold out, 90 minutes after the on sale. Minimal to no check ins. My wife had a fish sandwich and had to ditch her soggy bun midway through. I'm in no rush to return. Portion for the pot roast was beyond lackluster. Atmosphere was average at best. LOVED our dinner at this place…read more We came here for dinner while visiting Pittsburgh. The first thing that struck me was the interior decor. Very industrial and moody with an open kitchen/preparation area that adds some intrigue. I do like to see the happenings of what's going on as someone with zero attention span. Service was excellent. George was fantastic. He kept a close eye on us without being overbearing. He anticipated what we might need so we didn't spend one second waiting to order anything. The menu is not endless or overwhelming which, presumably, allows them to focus on the items that are listed. I have decision panic so it was kinda nice to have less things to choose from. They asked if there were any allergies or dietary restrictions so I mentioned my vegetarianism. George went through the menu and pointed out the vegetarian options including what seems like it is vegetarian but isn't. They had TWO vegetarian entree options and fortunately the non-mushroom one was something I probably would have ordered anyway: pesto with walnuts, arugula, and a very generous amount of grated cheese. To start, I ordered the Brussels sprouts whichc I was warned had fish sauce. This was fine but nothing that blew me away. GF, on the other hand, loved this. GF ordered the wedge which was brought to our attention as vegetarian with the bacon on the side, which was her request. We ended up sharing both, a large part of that was because hers came out first and I couldn't wait but I'm so glad because the wege was FANTASTIC. The dressing? holy fuck pure ecastasy. The wedge was more like a filet shape which was much easier to eat. Who decided on the wedge shape anyway? The lettuce was so fresh and crisp and went wonderfully with that orgasmic dressing and breadcrumbs. Back to my pasta. Also delectable. Noodles were al dente. The sauce was creamy and packed that pesto umami flavor. The walnuts were a really nice contrast in texture. Everything about it absolutely fucking slapped. GF ordered the mushroom entree which came served on a bed of barley which, don't mind if I do, had a few forkfuls to "sample" for "my review". Again, so fucking good. Because it was my birthday, George provided a dessert (yuzu maybe?) that was served inside a meringue-esque igloo, creamy perfect balance of sweet and tart custard with some berry business underneath. Wonderful. I almost forgot their spectacular cocktails! Holy shit, literally they have a CORN CHIP cocktail that I could not pass up. It comes with two massive cornchips on top of a flavored foam. When you bring the glass up to sip, the cornchips are right in front of your nose and their aroma sets the stage for the drink which was STRONG. It wasn't as corn chip forward as I expected but I understand that flavor is probaly hard to create. For my second drink, I ordered the blue one which was refreshing, light, and really good. GF ordered a spritz which was gorgeous "it was good". For second round, I picked out some uranium thing that was very cucumbery, GF says, "it was good". I just read it outloud to her. "it's true!" Fantastic meal at a great place.
