Mary was the worst counselor I met in my life (I met at least 5 other counselors in the past). Note…read morethat she is a registered counselor not psychologist this means most of insurances won't cover the cost of sessions. Mary was inconsiderate and rude and overly confident about subjects she had no clue about. She gets really offended when you question her judgment or logic and becomes really defensive. I believe she needs to really work on some issues of herself before trying to help other people (she needs to get over herself). I went to her for couple therapy because I and my girl friend had some issues in our relationship. I spend 450 dollar for a 100 minute session. If you call her to schedule an appointment the first thing she will talk about is money. She simply does not even show she care in therapy session. In summary, the advice you get from her, at least about relationships is probably not better than the advice you get from your average friend or family member. Her final advice to me and my girl friend: you guys need to explore more and decide whether to see each other or not. Thanks Dr Marry for telling us the obvious :) Last but not least, it's true that she will keep you waiting outside of her office. At the end you just feel disrespected and judged. I am not sure how good she is in other areas. At least for marriage and relationships she is not the person to go to for advice.

She is great at CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) and I found her to be a genuine and competent counsellor. Everybody is different, finding the counsellor could be challenging sometimes as it is almost like a matching service, you and the counsellor have to have good chemistry and see eye to eye on some non negotiable (values). For me, Mary was excellent and I would highly recommend her. It is almost worthwhile to note that my employer's EAP service referred me to her.

When my sister was given a few short month to live after her cancer spread, I sought out anticipatory grief counseling and Willow Tree Counseling came up. I have been working with her for months and now that my sister is gone she is helping me work through the incredible grief I'm experiencing. I wanted to post a review in contrast to the previous one because I really feel like out of a handful of counsellors that I've seen that's I've really felt the strongest connection and had the most help from Megan. She doesn't write notes while you are in session, but that has never been an issue for me. She has always remembered our previous sessions and I know she records notes of her sessions after the hour is over. She also provides a feedback form after every session that gives the client an opportunity to provide thoughts on various aspects of her counseling. I feel badly for the other reviewer who had a poor experience but I wanted to come on here and provide a different perspective. Without Megan's guidance and support over the last year my grief journey would have been far harder and more detrimental to my wellbeing. I am beyond grateful to work with her on my problems. She is a gem.

Not only were the sessions unhelpful, the counsellor was condescending. At one point when I briefly mentioned a past event, she leaned forward, shook her head, and said "and you bringing up the past, how does that help?" I was shocked by her response, and I said, "excuse me?", and she repeated the exact same words. We have since found a much better couples counsellor at another clinic. I would not recommend Jericho counselling.

I once said out loud to Heather during a session, "I love you Heather; you're my favourite person in the world." I'm a sensitive, openly sharing man & I meant those words. I'm also very logical & pragmatic with my treatment, thoughts, & actions; my counsellor is always right beside me, guiding accordingly. I made an appointment to see Heather Bach a few years ago when I was in a tough situation. So much…read morestress and anxiety that I really needed to talk to someone and hopefully put an end to it, or at least make it manageable. I set an appointment for 11am, showed up at 10:45am. And waited, and waited, and waited. By 11:30am I was starting to get a little frustrated. The walls and door were paper thin so I could hear the entire conversation she was having with her patient before me. At no time did she say "well it's time for my next appointment". Or come out to say "I'm sorry I'll be right with you". I just sat there like an idiot wasting my lunch break. At 11:40am I said to myself "forget it!" On her website it read "please show up on time, don't cancel or you'll be charged". So I expected the same treatment in return. By this point I was really frustrated, the exact opposite of how I thought I was supposed to feel after going to a counsellor! So I left my business card and went back to work, more stressed out than before my lunch break. At around 12:15pm I receive an email from her. No apology, no explanation, just "I must have JUST missed you! Your business card is still warm." Huh? I didn't want to work with someone that would give so little consideration to her new patients. Honestly though, this turned out to be the best thing for me! I went back to work and discovered that my employer pays for counselling. So I started to see Martin Pinot around lower Lonsdale. 6 sessions that absolutely changed my life! And he was so considerate of starting and finishing on time, such a kind man! So I guess I should be thanking Heather!

Did everyone get 100% what they want in my situation? No. But I think the key point is that she brought everyones wants and needs together so everyone could be happy and move forward in a more peaceful situation. You have to understand that you're still going to be functioning as a family unit no matter if you are a broken family or not. If one person isn't having their needs respected, it's bad for everyone. Kathleen does a wonderful job puling everyone together and creating peace. Which is what the kids need above all else. She's also realistic and listens to the children in a way that they feel heard. I just cannot applaud the incredible work this woman does in such a difficult job description enough. I would not recommend anyone else if you are struggling with a high conflict parenting situation. And this comes from someone who is in a the tip top of the high conflict scenarios and has been suggested enforced visits from her. So she's not catering to anyone. She's in it for the kids. And a big part of that is creating a peaceful agreement so that the parents can move forward in a way that supports the kids. I feel so fortunate that my ex husband found her and brought her in. Things were going sideways fast before her guidance and I'm really not sure anyone could have done what she's done for us. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone else who feels like their coparenting relationship is skidding out of control.
