It's been over a month since I made the mistake of going here, and I'm still pissed off. That should tell you everything. I've had breakups that haunted me less than this coffee shop. The espresso tasted burnt. I really needed my caffeine so I tried to force it down but i just couldn't. I got a cinnamon roll that was hard as a fucking rock. I genuinely thought i was going to chip a tooth. It had to be like weeks old. As if that wasn't enough, there was an old lady working there who was so aggressively rude it was actually impressive. I wasn't sure if I had walked into a café or wandered into an episode of a prank show where the theme was "How Fast Can We Ruin Your Morning?" I don't even want my money back--I want the memory erased. Do. Not. Go. Here. Unless you're into emotional damage and ash-flavored beverages. read more

My husband and I stopped by Omega Coffee on the way home from the Lake of the Ozarks. Let me start out by saying, I am definitely a coffee snob. I ordered an iced raspberry latte and I was not impressed. The espresso tasted burnt and there wasn't enough ice in the coffee. The vibe of the shop is super cute and comfy and the lady who took our order was very nice and friendly. My husband got an iced pumpkin spice latte and he really liked it so maybe I just need to try some thing else here. read more

I think this company recently changed names to The Bean Depot. The staff were super friendly, welcoming and helpful to my questions. I'm pretty picky about my coffee, but will state without hesitation that the white chocolate mocha was THE BEST I've had from an independent coffee shop. This is a lovely small-town *third place*. "Friendly" doesn't really cover it. Everyone I met here is the kind of person who likes people and welcomes everyone into the space. That's not so rare around here. You can find an inviting atmosphere in which to get a beer or fried eggs. AFAIK you cannot get coffee like this anywhere else in the area. The coffee is competently sourced, skillfully roasted, meticulously brewed, and presented in refreshing simplicity - all on-site. In Kansas City this place would be a favorite. At the lake, Omega is an absolute treasure. read more

I was really surprised to find a coffee shop at the lake. The place is small with only two employees when I visited. There was a long line so I waited about 15 minutes but it was worth it. They had a very good selection of coffee, tea, and smoothies. read more

We are new to Laurie/Gravois Mills area and we were craving coffee this morning so we decided to try Omega coffee, when we walked in we were greeted so nicely by locals and the staff, the place itself as you walk in was so welcoming and magical along with the coffee and staff. The staff was so nice and friendly and didn't treat us like the new kids on the block like other coffee shops have in the past, we were treat like we were regulars in the coffee shop. The coffee as the sign says in front of the shop was right omega coffee is like a hug in a mug. I recommend people to come to this coffee shop if you are in the area. Great little coffee place without the "high falutin' clientele you find at Starbucks! Their muffins are to die for! Free Wi-Fi if you purchase something....employees are very friendly. They have a cute little gift shop inside where you'll find reasonable prices and nice things. Great little coffee place! Lots of choices to buy beans and have them ground. Stopped in for a couple mochas on a Sunday morning. Both were super hot and delicious!! A little under staffed, it took about 20 minutes for the line as only one older man was working behind the counter. Best coffee at the Lake! Well worth the drive to Laurie. I'm there every Tuesday morning (that's my day off) and they're always busy which is a really good sign! Dee is the best barista I've ever had and always nails my drink. Try their in-house roasted beans to take home, better than anything you'll find at the grocery store.
