I can only endorse what 99 percent of others have said about this provider....RAPACIOUS is a word that springs to mind!! Called them out to quote on a new hot water system My research told me it should cost $2000 max . ..which still would have made them a fair profit...given that they get access to bulk discounts etc etc Not enough for this mob they made it 4K.. I sent them on their merry way.... Customers...dont be lazy...unless you have inherited piles of $$ from daddy!!! . Do some homework yourself before throwing hard earned $ at this mob. I am getting the job done this Friday by the way and it will cost me $1700 in total. I've never written an online review before but feel compelled to do so about Omega Home services. I requested a quote to fix two fans that were working intermittently and replace some lightbulbs in my halogen downlights. All the electrician could tell me was that the fan was broken and needed replacing. One fan would have cost me $809 (excl GST). He didn't carry a basic halogen lightbulb, and could only help by replacing the whole halogen system with LED lights. I had to pay $79 for the privilege of him telling me he could do squat. And that's after he turned up well outside the agreed time slot. I ended up getting another electrician the next day who was able to fix both fans and replace the lightbulbs for $350 (incl GST). read more

Damien A from Omega Service Solutions Pty Ltd was so helpful, patient and courteous in a hot water crisis. He had to handle 3 parties and I don't know how he did it with so much grace! He had manage a landlord, her son and us - the renters with respect and technical advice. Damien was an incredible star - delivering service and respect - in a situation that would have been challenging for anyone. Well done - would recommend him to anyone. read more

Just dropping by to share my experience with Omega plumbing. I had HORRIBLE experience that I had with Omega plumbing several years ago. I had a blocked sink and after Omega attempted to unblock it, they charged me $99 and gave their "expert" advice - redo the entire plumbing in my kitchen entirely at a cost of more than $1000. Refusing to believe this was my only option I invested in a plunger from Bunnings ($10) and plunged the sick myself for about 5 minutes which promptly fixed the blockage. I requested a refund of my $99 given they didn't fix the problem nor was I at all satisfied with their work (in direct contradiction to their customer satisfaction guarantee the have on their website) - I was snubbed off by Omega, they claimed that it was the best they could do and therefore were still owed the $99. This all happened in December 2011 and in the 2.5 years since then, I haven't had to plunge the sink once, and thankfully still have the $1000+ they were going to quote to "fix" my plumbing in my bank account. I have also make sure that I relay my story to anyone I meet in any need of a plumbing service. I certainly hope that they all heed my warning and learn from my mistake. read more

Terrible, do not rely on this company for any form of warranty on defective services. They will not hold any responsibility for services undertaken, that are defective. They will only offer to repair faulty work at all new charges irrespective of the original warranty provided at installation. read more

Called for a job fixing the bursting pipe, plumber came in and dig hole for $1300 without getting a leakage specialist detect the damaged pipeline. After replacing one pipe, water still leaking, quote for $5500+gst for fixing other pipelines. Still no mention of getting water leaking specialist. Lucky did not accept the quote, as it turns out my main pipe was leaking too after the test. The final resolution I got from the other plumber is to cap the pipe Omega is going to amend (cost $5500+gst) as it is for garden irrigation, and spent $4000 to fix my main pipe ( 3 person one day job involving excavator, including water leakage test cost). Manager called after received unfavourable feedback, still trying to protect the plumber by saying it is owner's fault by presenting on the spot. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! Booked a plumber with these guys last minute because my original plumber cancelled on me on the day. So I explained the situation and that I really needed someone in and then they assured me that I would have a plumber later that day. Right when the plumber was supposed to arrive they call me to cancel. I specifically took today off for this and now I'm screwed. And they even had the nerve to try and re-book me for later when I said I needed it today. Not a chance. Never using these guys again and urge you all to avoid them at all costs. read more

I had blocked sewer. Called Omega . Used camera to check for damage. I agreed for Jet blast clearing . They only cleared downstream even though I knew that the main blockage was upstream. Boss came and suggested replacing pipe work etc. More than $9000 on top of the work already done. That quote was after I would do all the digging my self. Changing pipes is the easy part and definitely not worth the money charged. So am I supposed to be happy? They advertise pensioner discount and when I asked for it I was told "You don't look like a pensioner. You look 55 years old" . Steer clear!! 10 June 2014 - I had a leaking tap in my bathroom and called Omega. Firstly they called on the day and advised that the plumber assigned was sick - inconvenient but not terminal. Then the plumber did turn up - $55 call out fee. Rang me and said that he was going to check if was water pressure (5 minute job) and that would be $176 if I didn;t go ahead with their quote! reluctantly said yes - then came back and said he'd need to replace the mixer and quoted me $750 for a leaking tap! I asked him what the break down was between parts and labour and he wouldn't tell me! Told him no and was charged $176 for checking my water pressure. Called another plumber and had the work done for $250! Would suggest that Omega services should have a hard look at themselves - the plumber was following orders - issue with management methinks. read more

Asked Omega to quote on installing some downlight and a bathroom heat lamp and extractor fan in a new bathroom. The guy who came out to quote was very rude and pushy and keep telling my girlfriend what she needed even after being told that we knew what we want installed. We asked for a quote both for supply and installation of the heating/light units and they applied an over 100% mark up on buying them from a normal retailer (over $600 for something I can get for $275 from bunnings). Fit 2 downlights that we had already supplied? $495 + GST!!!!! Our other electrician installed 9 downlights and 2 powerpoint recently for under $300. These guys are a rip off and when I complained their manager made a bunch of excuses. My advice would be to get ANYONE else to do your electrical and plumbing work read more

I booked an Omega electrician a week in advance to install a powerpoint and repace another. They came out and only wanted to give me a quote- which I should have refused!!! $1200 to replace a broken power point and install one other!!!!! Took one electrician and his apprentice just over an hour to complete the work! Lesson learnt- always get 2 quotes. Be warned they will charge you $50 for the callout for the quote if you don't use them!! read more

Forget these guys, they charge a $49 call out fee and then give me a quote of $1100 to run 6m of conduit. The Quote says: "Install customer supplied exhaust fan by knocking out existing brick vent and installing fan into void. Run conduit to outside power point (existing)" There was already a passive vent there, so not sure what they were knocking out. So effectively its $1100 for 6m of conduit and to hook up to existing power point. Be careful, be smart, Try someone else read more

Booked Omega to do some minor repairs to an existing water pipe at the entrance to my property. Including a so called pensioner discount the quoted me $990 excluding GST which I accepted, being without water until the repairs were completed. Mark who quoted the work disappeared and 3 hours later a young guy (apprentice?) arrived to actually do the work which took less than 2 hours and used I guess a metre of copper pipe and a few fittings. Why do I feel that I could have done so much better with a local plumber. read more

i have used this company for many years but now I will never ever use them I feel they are sales people not plumbers ,we had a leak in the same spot which was repaired by them 6 years ago and of course they said it was a different part so the 25 year warranty was not valid ,a guarantee is useless if you can never claim it. we were totally overcharged and sold a whole new replacement which I believe was not necessary. The quote for a replacement was 3 times what I am now paying another plumber and the quote for a pressure water valve was twice what I am now paying and twice what they charged my friend .I believe they are trying to get as much money as possible from people not just do what is required read more

I was in need of a minor job but wanted it done asap. A technician arrived and said that before any prices or parts were discussed that a full home safety inspection was necessary. We agreed thinking it would be handy for future repairs. We had already priced the parts needed for the repairs which would have been $47, (2x white wall power points & fluro light repair) so when I eventually laid my eyes on the quote i nearly fell of my chair. The job i requested was priced @ $985.41, plus all the other jobs they said were necessary (over $7500 worth). The only reasoning he could give when i queried him was that "that's what you pay for with our service, I am a qualified electrician who has the parts on hand and ready to go. Any electrician who buys from Bunnings isn't worth it." We denied the quote, insisted he take the call out fee as we wanted to keep the quote. He went outside to speak to his supervisor and returned saying "don't worry about the call out fee, but my supervisor wants to talk to you before i leave." I am afraid for people not so verbal or those who may be easily persuaded into unnecessary repairs that they simply can not afford, and may not have shopped around. Very disappointed in this company and so far everyone i have asked for advice agrees that these prices are beyond fare, but due to the industry having no price regulations, unfortunately they can "CHARGE WHAT THEY LIKE!!!" We had a blocked sewer. Called up and booked it for $99. Do not get fooled by that. Ended up costing $3500 The plumber came out and gave me a run down about how Omega is very honest and always let the client know what the cost is before commencing work. Had a good feeling about the company. Next on his list was that Omega can examine all the plumbing in your house for no extra cost (should have raised a red flag). I mentioned that "I was more concerned about my blocked overflowing sewer than the house plumbing". Got a little more salesmanship from the plumber to help find out all the plumbing issues at my place. Finally the plumber agreed to look at the blocked sewer without finding all the faults with my house. Omega Analysis: It appeared that there was a blockage in the sewer and we would need to replace the PVC pipes. Also, there was an apparent breach of building code. I was told that I could pay $6,000+ to get it all fixed or I would be reported. I asked for some time to sleep on it, but was informed that I had to do it immediately or it would end up costing more. Agreed to do it as I was worried about the sewage overflow. After they left. I had a look at the building codes and realised that I was not in breach. Called them and let them know. I was then told by the plumber that they would need to charge me more if I did not agree to the additional work that was not required. DO NOT GET INTIMIDATED BY THEM. Tell them that you don't mind waiting before agreeing to any work. Sleep on it despite their pressure tactics. We changed the pipe although there was no blockage in the section of the pipe that was removed. I will only engage Omega is there is an issue with the work that they have done. Else, I will avoid them like the plague. I paid for all the work and I am yet to receive my receipt. I was told that they would mail it to me. All the transactions were done over the phone and yet no receipt 2 weeks later. (Another red flag). read more
