This may be the worst experience with a doctor I have ever had. I need a new PCP, and came in to establish care. I told him I hadn't been feeling well over the last week and that i didn't know if I had allergies or if I was getting sick. He had an over-the-top reaction to this, exiting the room quickly and bringing me to another room, where he put on a mask and opened a window. I understand wanting to be safe and not catch a cold from a patient, but his reaction was all about himself. He then asked me if I had a fever. I told him I wasn't sure, I don't have a thermometer. He did not take my temperature or offer to check me for anything at all. Bizarre. He told me if I do have a fever to seek medical attention. LOL I hadn't come in for any specific check-up and was there to just establish care with a new primary and get a referral to a new OBGYN. I told him I was interested in learning about options for perimenopause. I'm 47, and while I still get my periods, they have become irregular over the last 3 or 4 years. He seems taken aback, telling me that it's quite abnormal for someone my age to begin experiencing irregular periods. I asked him about HRT, and he was very dismissive and told me that HRT will not help with mood, energy, weight-gain, or any other symptoms associated with menopause. I was astonished. It is widely believed that HRT can help metabolic slow-down, and the balancing of the depleted hormones can have an over-all positive impact. This was just the worst experience. The doctor is condescending. When I questioned his opinion on HRT, he went on a weird tangent, throwing red herrings, and trying to sound very educated and important without actually addressing my question. It was overall a very bad experience where I felt on edge by this very weird guy. Top it off, I received a $200 bill for my appointment. They didn't even weigh me, take my blood pressure, temperature, or do anything. I sat in a room with a weird man who did not help me and got a large bill for it. Avoid this office. read more

I have been avoiding following up on my own care because of my experiences at this office. As a patient, I have not been provided with any sort of reassurance - that goes a long way when working with people in the medical field, I am one. During one of my visits, I was going through a tough time. I was going through the loss of three of my beloved pets in a year. After he asked and I gave him that answer, he was unsympathetic and judgmental that I was citing those events affecting my state then. He called it "abnormal" for me to be feeling like that. Every time I attempted to follow up on my appointments, I'd get upset and angry. If anxiety and depression are out of your area of competence - I'd advise leaving opinions out, demonstrating empathy, then providing some sort of solution-based response. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Anker for a while now, and I can honestly say he's one of the kindest, most patient doctors I've ever worked with. What I really appreciate is that he's never quick to throw medications at symptoms. Instead, he takes the time to actually listen, get to the root cause of what's going on, and focuses on prevention rather than just masking issues with prescriptions. Recently, I went through a rough patch with panic attacks and some serious mental health struggles that forced me to take time off work. That process alone was overwhelming and stressful, especially with all the paperwork I had to deal with--and the forms I needed him to fill out. Dr. Anker was incredibly patient and understanding through all of it. He supported me every step of the way and made sure I had what I needed to recover without added pressure. Highly recommend this practice. The whole staff is amazing from Julia and the front desk to Dr. Anker. Easy to schedule and beautiful/modern office with great air quality. Dr. Anker was very thorough and wonderful. I felt instantly comfortable with him. He doesn't give up in trying to find answers which I really appreciate as someone who has a lot of uncommon health issues. I'm very high risk and still having to isolate. My family started seeing Dr. Anker in July 2025. Our family deals with a variety of health issues that range from mental health, pediatric disabilities, issues requiring gender affirming care, and geriatric care. Dr. Anker listens and believes what he is told by his patients and works with us to bring about better health for our family. His office support staff are also incredible to work with. Dr. Anker and his staff are amazing and super helpful. He is always attentive and is a great listener and isn't quick just to prescribe something and is willing to really work with you and give you advice on the best plan to help with any problems you may have. I recently got new insurance and they recommended I go to mercy but I chose to stay with Dr. Anker because I enjoy coming in and having someone to give me options to my treatment. Worst primary doctor experience. His office feels like your in someones condo. He brings his sick kids to work that interferes with his care for you; his exam tables resemble massage tables. It all feels very cheap and low quality. When I first made an appointment with him I brought labs from an outside clinic I was receiving Testosterone treatment from. I wanted to discuss my entire health plan to which he was extremely dismissive. He went on a rant about Joe Rogan for some reason and claimed he "goes to all the conferences" on subjects like this. He told me its better to just age naturally, get old, and feel pain and not fight it. I disagreed and I can tell this rubbed him the wrong way. Recently I asked for a refill on my anti-anxiety medication for flying(which I have used safely for over 20 years) and he accused me of drug seeking behavior. He sited my recent prescription for Hydrocodone that was issued by a doctor to me by the hospital for a fractured rib. I didn't even take them. I find his practice to be very judgmental and he clearly lacks experience as he didn't know about how comprehensive my TRT doctor and their lab testing has been. I receive FAR better care other providers. Final word is this guy is insecure and feels threatened by other doctors treating his patients even if they are specialists. Better doctors are out there. read more

Dr. Tomas P. Anker, D.O., or Dr. Tommy as our family calls him, evokes a nostalgia of the good doctors of the past but with all the modern medical technologies. He is a deep listener, a caring health provider and takes a methodical but loving approach to western medicine.  We choose Doctors of Osteopathy for our young family because not only do they have a comprehensive medical training, they have additional studies which gives them a wider breadth for treating whole human. Dr. Tommy's particular background in genetics initially attracted us to his practice. The Good DOctor recently treated and monitored our whole family for COVID-19 that began with a breakout case of my firefighter husband. When we went to Dr. Tommy, he had a supplement protocol ready to go and even dropped off the prescription pharmaceuticals medications because we were isolating in quarantine. He also suggested some herbs and his own herbal formula was a helpful addiction to our recovery. He checked on us often and went so far as to bring over organic ingredients for chicken soup. Honestly, it was the best western medical care we have ever received.
