The place was set up beautifully. It was very professionally run. The food was top notch, really really good. They actually handled everything perfectly. My only complaint of that the food servers put the good away too quickly. None of the guest were given the opportunity to go up for seconds although there was a ton of food left over. It stated in the contract that food cannot be removed from the premises and that's was fine with me but I would expect my guest to be able to get what was there instead of it being packed away so quickly. Some of my guest left and went and picked up a burger because they were still hungry. There were several guest that did not make the event which means there was more than enough for some folks to get seconds. I'm not sure what happened to the food that was left over but it was a significant amount. My nephew actually did ask for s couple of played to go and was given what he asked for but I'm my opinion the servers should have allowed a little more time for people to eat their fill. I would definitely use them again but I would make sure there would be a better understanding about the serving of the food.

Seems like kind of an odd spot, but as long as you're using a GPS you should be good to go! They seem to have several different rooms here that can be utilized all at once. As we were walking in the main doors, we heard a loud "SURPRISE!" coming from one of the neighboring rooms. Regardless of how much was going on, the reception we attended was great. Let's start with the top priority: the drinks were strong. Totally solid. The food was A-OK, and there was a good variety of things. My favorite thing to eat were the pumpkin & red velvet cupcakes at the end... yum! From what I hear, you can design your own package and figure out what food would work the best for you. The dance floor was a good size and everything was fun and comfortable. One note, though... don't try to bring in your own wine. They'll take it away. Who brings their own wine to a wedding, anyway? Last night I attended one of my favorite nonprofits' biggest fundraiser of the year. A room full of…read morepeople gathered to raise money for families who lose their babies -- served completely free of charge. These are families in the worst moments of their lives. This nonprofit deserves the very best. What they got was Le Belle Coeur. Here is what happened. Staff was late that morning, blaming traffic. When they finally opened the space, it was still set up from the night before. Dirty tables. Not even close to what was arranged. And while this tiny team of women was trying to set up for one of the most important nights of their year, Le Belle Coeur was giving wedding tours through the space. Food arrived over an hour late. There was one server. One. For 125 people. The service was so slow that the nonprofit's own staff had to stop what they were doing and help serve dinner. Guests and volunteers pitched in. Some people did not eat until 8:30. I personally had to DoorDash dinner to the venue because by the time I made it through the food line after 8:00, I was told there were no gluten free options -- despite being promised there would be. The server just looked at me. That was it. Once the food line cleared, that server disappeared. We never saw them again. Tables were never cleared. Water glasses sat empty. The only staff visible for the rest of the night was the bartender -- also one person, for the entire room. At some point we watched Le Belle Coeur employees leave the building carrying food across the street to their sister venue. That tells you everything about where their priorities were. There was no working speaker system. No music. There was no projector. They could not find it and did not tell anyone until that evening. No slide deck. No videos. No way to display donor names as people gave. No way for families to share photos alongside the stories of their babies. No way to honor sponsors. That moment is the whole point of the night. Gone. Not one apology. Not one moment of accountability. Not one staff member who appeared to care. I have grace for a hiccup when a team is visibly trying to make it right. That is not what this was. This was failure after failure with zero ownership. Here is what breaks my heart. This nonprofit does extraordinary work for families in the most devastating moments of their lives -- for free. Their largest fundraiser of the year was undermined at every turn by a venue that was simply not there. People left early. People went elsewhere to eat. I would be shocked if this experience did not cost oir nonprofit significant donations. Would Le Belle Coeur have let a wedding go this way? I genuinely don't know. What I do know is that whether it was negligence or indifference, a room full of people who came to honor babies who died were not worth showing up for. Do not book Le Belle Coeur.

Stone House Of St. Charles This place isn't worth it. Don't…read moreget me wrong the place is unquestionably beautiful. However, the owner Ruth overshadows that with her rudeness, condescension, pushiness, and interference. Stone House isn't cheap so you would think you would be able to have your wedding the way you want it. Not with Ruth around. A wedding day should be about the bride and groom. If you want it that way do not use Stone House. There are lots of venues that are just as pretty that don't come with an owner who is overbearing and tries to force you do what she think you should want vs what you as a couple actually want. My husband and I got married there a few weeks ago and I hardly know where to start so I'll go in order. First, you can only used one of her caterers and of the five only one will respond so it's not a stretch to figure out that they are friends. The food was so-so and the carterer was easy to work with so I can make my piece with that. Second, the bar BOOZE BROTHERS. You are required to use them and they are impossible to work with because of their lack of communication. I would be hazard to guess that the only reason they are in business is because of Stone House. Nobody would book them otherwise. Ruth's son runs Booze Brothers. The only way to reach them is to email mommy and after she or her husband reaches out to them, they will respond to an email. There was a required meeting with Ruth a few weeks before the wedding. I knew then that we were going to have a problem. She'd ask a question and before I could finish a sentence she'd interrupt and keep talking. I tried to tell her what we wanted and how we wanted things set-up and not only did she keep interrupting she argued with me that what we wanted wasn't a good idea. Just for context part of what I do is directing production shows which includes organizing local and national talent. I know how to put on an event. It only took about ten minutes for me to just sit back and let my husband talk. She tried to interrupt him also, but he just kept talking until she eventually, reluctantly agreed we could set up our wedding and reception the way we wanted. Ruth requires rehearsals to be the Thursday before the wedding at her designated time. So, good luck to anyone in your wedding party who is coming in from out of town. When we arrived, I began introducing people and then started from the beginning of the ceremony and intended to go in order until the end. Well, Ruth had no intention of letting that happen. She wanted to start in the middle and then circle around to get back to the beginning. Since our previous meeting, my husband and I had come up with a pretty nice way to honor my parents who had passed which meant it moved where some people sat. So, I was having to go around behind Ruth correcting her as she went. Ruth is a very loud woman and asked me if I wanted her to run the rehearsal or not. I told her I did not that I was perfectly cable of running a rehearsal. I had also told her this when we arrived. Evidently, it was a rhetorical question because she kept talking and directly people the way SHE wanted them to be. I was frustrated and tired of arguing with her so I sat down and watched with some amusement about the ludicrously as she stumbled through the most unorganized and confusing rehearsal, I had ever seen in almost 40 years. What resulted was a group 12 people leaving rehearsal without a clue as to what they were doing. So, I had to conduct 12 individual rehearsals on Friday and Saturday before my wedding started. Ruth also said they she would be running things the day of the wedding and her "team" would be giving instructions and orders. I put my foot down there and told her there would be no one ordering anyone around. The person running the wedding would by our DJ. As far as the DJ, it is included in her price. However, Ruth refuses to let you meet with him or her prior to the wedding. I would never agree to let someone in such an important role be selected without a meeting. That, in my opinion, is a recipe for disaster. So, my husband and I spend the money to hire our own DJ and it was money well spent. Despite the fact that Ruth made her life miserable for a week before the wedding and made digs at her the day of, she was professional and made sure that things went according to the plan my husband and I laid out. The day of the wedding, I gave my bridesmaids one job. Keep Ruth away from me. Unfortunately, her "team" wasn't much nicer than she was. The day went smoothly because our DJ did take over and my Husband's mother oversaw the set-up. Ruth sent her rules at least four or five times and they are all listed in the contract. We obeyed every rule no matter how small or stupid it was. However, Ruth violated her own contact. Her contract states that Stone House will get, set-up, and repack any items that are brought in exactly as they receive them. I packed every box carefully and labeled them. About 9

The event itself was down in the bowels of the building which gave me galactic fellowship hall vibes. There black lights to showcase the neon paintings on display and those we were about to create. The two men's room toilets had no door and no walls, respectively. One lady's room stall had a view into the kitchen. Most glaring, the in-house DJ was awful. Right after the first dance, he decided, without permission or even awareness from the newlyweds, to play some sort of elaborate military tribute. It colored the whole rest of the night, and not in a positive way. During the night, he just looked so upset to be there. At the end of the night, he chimed in to warn drivers away from a certain neighborhood in the area, claiming it was the "Ferguson of South County", a pretty clearly racist statement. If you rent this space, make sure the bathrooms are fixed first, and definitely bring your own DJ.

Attended a friend's wedding reception here, some pros and cons:…read more Pros: * Prices are competitive for venue rental, a DJ and bartender are included in the price * They appear to have no restrictions on external caterers * Far as I could tell, the owner (also the DJ), had everything set up on time, and the venue decor (medieval German kitsch - lots of dark stained wood trim, fake stained glass, and photos of Neuschwanstein) was delightful Cons: * Bathrooms are weird: men's bathroom has two sit-down toilets completely open to the room, one dividing wall but no doors, women's bathroom was 'vaguely creepy' * As the first song after the couple's first dance, DJ/Owner blared an orchestral rendition of 'Dixie' complete with slideshow of Confederate war veterans and climactic unfurling of the (modern) U.S. flag, to 'honor veterans, police and firefighters' - totally lost the room, made a lot of people uncomfortable Bottom line: great for the price, if they made it easier to poop, and picked a less *frightening* song to honor the troops (maybe try Toby Keith or Faith Hill next time?) would be an easy 5-star.
