What really stood out was how quickly and efficiently she resolved any issues I faced. While some of my classmates often struggled to get responses from their admissions representatives, I never had to worry because Palak was always accessible and supportive. Her dedication, responsiveness, and genuine willingness to help made a huge difference in my overall experience. I'm really glad I chose her, and I'm grateful for all the support she provided from start to finish. To everyone looking to join cdi , I highly recommend her, you won't regret your journey trust me, after service is equally important as your studies and she is best at it

I worked in nursing…read morefor 16 years in a Vancouver, and it has been a great career; however, my mental health made it challenging since 2013. Being jobless, homeless at some point and sick for several years, I also got into enormous debt. I was reluctant at first to apply to a college, knowing I have this debt baggages, a learning disability and mental health issues. This didn't stop me. I would never know unless I try. So I decided to venture into a different career and pursue my passion. I started to search on google about the courses school offers nowadays. I stumble upon CDI College optimized website. I found that they offer many courses and one of them is Social Media and Web Marketing, a growing industry nowadays. I send out my name and email on the website's online form. Roman Ansari, Director of Admissions emailed me, and my journey began. Roman is one of the best people I met; he is passionate about his job and has the heart to help people pursue their dreams. I am one of them. He guided me to explore my career options with great patience and proficient knowledge. He went above and beyond his duties and even encouraged me to join a women's group that has been so helpful. The finance department applied for my student loan. All the finance staff & others were very kind, patient and friendly and guided me to the step by step process. I was surprised and grateful to get the student loan and a huge grant. My course started in March 2021. This has been a life-changing opportunity for me. I could never ask for a better teacher than Ms Angie Janzen. She has been so patient and very helpful to her students. Ms Janzen makes it easy for us to absorb the daily lessons, be very emphatic, and listen to her students. This course has been extremely fun for me, and I am excited to finish this course and start a career in Digital Marketing. I am beyond thrilled that not only my expectation was met it surpassed my expectations. I am glad to take this career change with this, and I am excited to see what is in store for me. Whatever obstacles you have, every moment is a fresh beginning and it's never too late to become who you want to be. I highly recommend any aspiring students who want to pursue their dreams through education. Reach out to Roman and I know he will go above and beyond as my personal experience has been nothing but excellent. Best, Nems

This place literally saved my life. Well, not literally in that they kept me from dying, but…read moreliteratlly in that they saved me from being in extreme pain all the time. This is a pain clinic that practices IMS (Intra-muscular Stimulation) which is a technique using accupuncture needles to stimulate irritated nerve/muscle circuits. This is just a fancy way of saying that if you're in pain, they'll fix you up. And that includes pretty much any kind of pain - carpal tunnel, muscle and joint pain, back pain, I saw a guy there on time who had nerve damage from getting his wisdom teeth out and they helped that too. Prior to finding these guys, I was in extreme pain due to sciatica. I couldn't walk more than a block. Standing upright was difficult. I was a walking version of that evolution diagram but in reverse. Whenever I went to my family doctor I was prescribed medication. My condition would improve slightly but the pain was still excruciating. Finally, I found out about I-Stop and I haven't looked back ever since. Dr Chan Gunn, the guy who developed this proceedure, has received both the Order of British Columbia and the Order of Canada for his work in pain research. He doesn't practice much any more but there are a few trained practitioners that work out of the I-Stop headquarters. They're a non-profit pain clinic. The initial assessment will cost you about $100 and treatments are $75 each after that. When I was in really bad shape, I went once a week. Now I just go every now and then for a tune up. If you've been suffering from any kind of pain and haven't found a good solution, give these guys a try. It can't hurt.

Also, the experience with the instructor in the first class, who didn't show up for the final exam, made the class an absolute nightmare (although Langara did right by taking our complaints seriously and giving everyone a very generous credit). And the Starbucks on campus is run by fucking morons. However, I am giving them back a star, because I was impressed with how they handled the recent school closure. On Monday April 1st, a disgruntled student* set off some incendiary devices in the school, causing the evacuation and closure of the school for two days (luckily it reopened on Wednesday April 3rd, the day I had class). It was big news, and Langara was really good with sending everyone informative emails about the incident. They updated everyone in a timely manner about the school closure and what was going on (Translink could learn from them), and even after the school was reopened, they kept everyone informed about the progress of the case, and offered students support services if needed. The emails were well written, informative, and interesting. There were quite a few emails, but it didn't feel like spam. So good job, Langara, at keeping people informed. *One of my classmates said that she had found out that the student who set off the devices had failed his chemistry class. I guess good thing he failed, otherwise the damage might have been worse.

Courses fill up with the insane amount of international students Langara hosts and you'll be lucky to have a spot in the 20's in the waitlist. Not even the worst part. Before you can actually see the course outline or how the course is etc, Langara has their 100% refund date set to just the day before all that info goes live. If on the day all the info goes live and you see that you don't like the course itself, too bad you just lost money and are now only eligible for a 70% refund. This school is the gross reality of what post secondary has become, a product only for those who can afford it and past that, only for those with the incomprehensible patience for it.

It's a beautiful building. Spacious, well lit, multiple levels with a fast elevator, and charging stations everywhere for those laptops and pads. The new SUB is still connected to the old SUB via an underground corridor. The PIT is now moved into the new sub from it's old location. I wonder what it'll be like. The soft opening of the new Sub happened sometime early June 2015. I got to peek in here yesterday in the evening. There are still several vendor vacancies in here, but the usual food stalls are around. Blue Chip Cookies will be moving in. I notice that there will be a grocery store settling in soon. There are individual study and conference rooms, as well as new club offices. CITR has already relocated in the basement. In addition there is an performance space and an art exhibition space. There has been many times in which I felt like a mother cleaning up after these slobs. Oh to be a self absorbed teenager again. There are some food stalls, however, the better ones are closer to the cafeteria (I've reviewed those). They'v recently expanded.

It is one I had not seen in quite some time, and seeing it again sure ignited a wealth of memories of my very many 'UBC days'. The book: The University of British Columbia - A Souvenir -- by George Woodcock and Tim Fitzharris. A quote from the forward: ".............. a lasting reminder of this special environment for anyone who has ever visited or been a part of it". For me, those days started in the late-1950's, and continued through to the mid-1960's. UBC was definitely a "special environment" -- it changed and dominated my life in such wonderful, exciting, and fulfilling ways.
