I go every 6 months like clockwork, and they always schedule my next appointment before I even leave--which is the only reason I never forget! The staff is super nice and incredibly efficient. I was very impressed at my first visit to Omni Dental yesterday. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. Dr. Stevens was awesome-- he was highly skilled at diagnosing my tooth pain. He listened very well, helped me understand everything about his recommendations and patiently answered all my questions, taking time to show me lots of details on the X-rays. And he's funny! Another staff person let me know what my costs would be for different services through my insurance, again very helpful. This is the best dental office, hands down. Dr. Stevens and Dr. tsang are outstanding. I have moved around the country and had horror dental work done (crowns that were done wrong) and Dr. Stevens fixed the issues. All his work is fabulous - I am very sensitive to minor changes in my mouth and he makes sure things are perfect. He does not upsell - he is straightforward with options and doesn't encourage doing anything more than what is necessary. After moving to Texas, I still come back for dental visits. I had to take my child in with me to my appointment here at Omni Dental. I was already dreading it bc he is a year and a half old, so getting him to sit still was going to be almost impossible. The staff at Omni dental were so gracious and understanding. They assured me that "hey life happens it's fine, we just do what we need to do". I got through my routine cleaning with ease. I went in for a routine cleaning--I like to have my teeth cleaned every 3 months and take great care of them. I actually enjoy going to the dentist. However, I was disappointed with the cleaning itself. I know I'm in the minority, but I genuinely prefer a thorough cleaning using manual instruments. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience here. They use a hypersonic water system to loosen plaque and then follow up briefly with manual tools. This was, hands down, the worst cleaning I've ever had. My teeth didn't feel clean afterward. If you're someone who dislikes cleanings or prefers a gentler touch, this approach might suit you. But if you like a detailed, old-school scraping and truly clean teeth, this may not be the place for you. read more

As someone who hated the dentist for years, I now am a completely dedicated client of Omni. As you can see- 8 years strong!! I even continued to come when my insurance changed and I had to pay out of pocket- they are THAT WORTH IT. Excellent care, excellent staff, and for the first time I feel respected, safe and comfortable. I had an appointment scheduled for 2 PM earlier this week, when I got the confirmation request, it had been moved to 8 AM. Unfortunately, I am unable to make that time so I had to reschedule. When I showed up from my rescheduled appointment, I called as I was walking up to the office and was placed on hold. He came back on the line and told me I was three minutes past the cut off time for the "grace period" and that I would need to reschedule. I walked up to the office manager, seeing as I was already at the office, standing out front, and she was unwilling to help even though there was only one patient in the office. She told me that I was not able to be seen this morning even though I explained it took me over 45 minutes to drive here, and I was still met with an unfriendly response from an unapologetic "manager". This used to be my favorite office with quality care, but unfortunately, I feel as though the front staff is unwilling to accommodate a simple teeth cleaning. I had the same dentist since I moved here in 2001 up until he retired a few years ago. I was pretty devastated and I found finding another dentist daunting. There are MANY out there that are terrible! I've unfortunately had too many bad experiences. I was warned by my dentist to not trust an office that wanted to change my fillings out. I was met with several dentists who did try this, even pull teeth, but not OMNI DENTAL! I always feel welcome here, the staff is great and very gentle with my crazy teeth sensitivities and now I'm an OMNI lifer! I take my kids (7&9) here and they love coming! They don't get scared like other dentists they have tried in the past. The kids love playing angry birds on the screen by the treatment seat while waiting. The staff is very friendly, professional, and the dentists give you what you need to know without all that fluff. It's a very relaxing environment, has a gorgeous fish tank, a massage chair you can use while you're waiting (perfect for while I'm waiting for the kids). I don't have any negative reviews about Omni Dental. I'm surprised at the bad reviews I see here because they don't seem accurate at all. I was referred to Omni Dental by a friend and after my recent cleaning at Omni Dental, I am very happy to have found them and I definitely will be coming back in 6 months for a follow up cleaning. My previous dentist sold his practice and after a couple of years the new owners went out of business. Looking back my old dentist always seemed to upsell me on buying sonicare toothbrushes and special fluoride mouth rinse. My kids have been going to another dentist in the area and when they had appointments we almost always have had to wait which is frustrating. At Omni Dental I didn't have to wait at all for my visit. The front desk, hygienist and Dr Stevens the dentist were super friendly and very honest. I'm so glad I found them and I definitely plan on coming back for my 6 month appointment. My family members and I have gone to this dentist for years and have always been annoyed with scheduling because they schedule 6 months out and if you need to change the appt, they won't have any openings for another 6 months minimum. After one too many scheduling nightmares my family decided to find new dentists. I found a new dentist who told me I had 8 cavities, 2 of which were almost root canals while my other family member went to a different dentist who told her she had 9 cavities. The worst part is that both of the new dentists looked at our old x-rays from Omni and could see the cavities had been there for years. Avoid this dentist unless you want a mouth full of cavities and root canals. read more

Every part of each visit is always like I have arrived home. The from staff never fails to greet me by name and are always so sweet and pleasant to talk to. I never feel like I am just going to a place of business. As for the dental care, I have never had anything close to an unpleasant experience. The dental assistants are always proactive and their working relationships with Doctors Stevens and Tsang are always on point. During my last visit the was an intern present. I had to get a temporary crown and it was so nice to hear how detailed the explanations for the intern were from Dr. Tsang and her assistant for the different aspects of my procedure. Reliable, professional, honest, friendly, and well managed all are things to expect when visiting Omni Dental for the first time!! I am new to the San Diego area and was behind on my cleanings about 10 months. Before I could find a local dentist in my new town, I had a severe tooth ache that needed immediate attention. Worrying that a new office and a tooth ache may break my bank or encourage a new office to throw in a few extras, but that couldn't have been further from the truth with the Omni Dental team. I was immediately greeted by the office manager Jessica, who knew my name even though it was my first time. She was super friendly and on top of every detail, while also training a new employee. I would say she is an excellent asset to the business and to all the patients. After getting checked in, I was immediately called back by Dr. Tsang who I would learn to be very thorough and seemed to truly care about the patients well-being first. She had the dental hygienist run the initial tests and I was in a lot of pain, I was sure I had a root canal. Dr. Tsang checked and double checked everything.m, even when it could have easily been ruled a root canal, she insisted on triple checking a previously laid crown. Ultimately, decided to wait on any big decision like that because of the uncertainty and gave me a plan for the next week, which ended up being just an irritated crown. Such a relief for me and strong first impression. I needed a cleaning but had made another appointment because of the multiple month wait at Omni Dental, but they had a cancellation the morning of much emergency appointment and asked if I wanted to squeeze in that day. I took it in a heartbeat! and was seen by Lovelyjoy Tan, who was also an extension of the very positive experience I had earlier that morning. Also, special thanks to Geri who helped me think through my options over the phone prior to making the appointment. She was great as well! This is looooong overdue...but here it is! I LOVE OMNI DENTAL!!! They have THE BEST staff and dentists ever! My experience there is always pleasant, and I am treated with respect and kindness. I never feel like they are dishonest, or trying to upsell me anything. I've had both Dr. Stevens and Dr. Tsang as my dentists and they are both wonderful people. Dr. Tsang is also so great with kids, especially with my 3yr old. He isn't afraid of going to the dentist, and he actually has a good experience when he gets his teeth checked out and brushed/cleaned. There was a time where I moved from Liberty Station to UTC, switched dentists, and realized that I had made a big mistake. My experience with the other dental office was sub par compared to Omni Dental. I ended up switching back, and even though my commute is further (30mins) it is worth it to go to a place where you are treated warmly and fairly. I also have peace of mind knowing that my son is good hands, just as I am, when it comes to our teeth. We love you Omni Dental! read more

My husband and I have been going here for ten years. We used to love this practice. It is a really nice office, and the staff and hygenists were always so sweet. I used to find the doctor's really knowledgeable and while scheduling was sort of irritating (you cant even get in every six months because of their limited availability), it was nice that they didnt seem to push unnecessary care. However, in the last year or so this practice has rapidly declined. The doctors are never there, and in fact I'm pretty sure I've only seen him once in two years. The patient isn't even informed ahead of time, you simply show up for a cleaning and are told it will only be a hygienist. They can't rebook you in a reasonable amount of time because there's no availability. I mentioned to the hygienist at my last cleaning that I've had some sensitivity and pain for awhile in a particular tooth and her response was "oh you should really tell the doctor, but he's not here." If I wanted to speak with the doctor I'd have to pay out of pocket for another office visit, even though my bi-yearly cleaning SHOULD be at the very least supervised by a doctor. I also used to always have the same hygienist as well but it seems they've had a lot of turnover lately, as I see a different one every time now. I'm really disappointed and have found a new practice that I booked my next cleaning with. Something tells me that sensitivity/pain is likely a cavity that's gone unnoticed for some time. read more

I suffer from severe anxiety and we're talking bad here. Last time I had to visit a dentist I nearly passed out and I have perfect teeth. I say this because I've never had a cavity or anything just some traumatizing experiences at the dentist. So when we got moved here I was less than thrilled at finding a dentist. I was about 2 years overdue for a regular checkup and cleaning. The office is REALLY nice. They have televisions, a keurig, and even a massaging chair. My husband went with me on my most recent visit and he said he wants to go with me every time I visit because he was so pampered, LOL. The first time I went I did warn them how twitchy I am with everything. The lady who cleaned my teeth was nice to me and was extra careful. She even gave me bubblegum flavor for polishing my teeth (hey she asked what flavor I wanted haha). Dr Stevens is one of the sweetest most relaxing people I've met. He took a long while to talk to me and talk about my teeth. He even gave me delicious taco suggestions (which were spot on!). On my first visit we talked about my husband being deployed and how I had taken up teeth grinding again (first time since childhood). He told me he would make me a night guard for free; whatever the insurance didn't cover he wouldn't charge me. I got the notice from Metlife it didn't cover like $300 and sure enough he was true to his word and did NOT charge me. What an absolute blessing when money is tight. Skip to 6 months later I come for my follow up and you know what, I wasn't really that scared. Dr Stevens remembered me and he fixed my guard as I had been having issues, now it works fine. He even offered to remold it several times. Or give me my money back (which I had to explain what he said). I was amazed he'd do that, assuming I had paid. This place is hands down the best dentist I've ever been to in my nearly 30 years. Still got my perfect teeth and besides "arguing" with the lady who cleans my teeth about flossing (nearly impossible to do on my teeth) it's all wonderful. They do accept tricare and yes they accept United Concordia insurance. No they're not closed contrary to what facebook says. They DO have a lot of business so if they're booked get on the waitlist. I did that when I first got here and was seen later that week. read more

I am overdue in writing this review. I just thought to do it now as I had my 2nd appointment there yesterday and just told my friend about this place. I saw Dr. Stevens a few months ago for an overlay on my teeth (instead of doing veneers like other places tried to sell my on for THOUSANDS of dollars. This literally was like... $20-30 per tooth. (I did two). Of course, my insurance ended up not covering it because it wasn't needed (just my own vain reasons lol) and I paid a bit more out of pocket but that didn't bother me one bit. The office itself is clean, beautiful, smells great, massage chairs.. my oh my. Staff is nice. Dr. Stevens is GREAT. I went back again last night for a teeth cleaning. I had went to a different sketch-ball office before this and they told me I needed TONS OF WORK DONE. Mind you, I actually went to school for dental assisting, I know a bit about teeth and I take excellent care of mine. I decided not to go back to this place.....Scheduled my teeth cleaning at Omni instead. After my teeth cleaning, Dr. Stevens took a look & was like "well, see you in 6 months.. Looks great" -- my point being, you can trust this place to not scam you like many other offices around here in San Diego. 5 BIG FAT STARS!! BIG ONES!! My family dentist retired years ago and I've been so disappointed since. No one was able to fill his awesome dentist shoes. I've tried a few in Point Loma, Clairemont and University City. Dr. Larsen was nice and her staff was great but the morning after she replaced my cap the top cap broke. Coincidence? Maybe? He let me know about what it would take to get a former, root-canaled tooth whitened. After a couple visits, my old brown tooth disappeared and was replaced by a nice, permanent alternative. I should have written this review a month ago but my excuse is that I've been floating on a cloud since Dr. Stevens gave me back my smile. I came to Omni Dental for a second opinion. Best decision ever! My four front teeth fillings had dark stains on them and I have felt so self conscience for years. Also, one of my front teeth was pushed a bit behind and created a shadow which made the situation even worse. My previous dentist had told me that I needed to first do Invisalign for about a year. Then whiten the teeth and then replace the old fillings. This whole process would cost about $7,000. He also said I needed grafting on some other gum lines which would bring my total to $9k. Dr. Stevens assessed my situation and suggested a different route which made much more sense to me. First, I needed to whiten my teeth. Once I got my teeth to the desired white, then I would go in and he would take care of the rest. Instead of taking out the whole fillings, he just sanded them down a bit and added product. On the tooth that was slightly behind, he just added more product to the front of the tooth. All of this happened in little over an hour with no need to numb the area. The result is perfect! And it cost 80% less than the other dentist and took a couple of weeks rather than a year. And Dr. Stevens said that I did not need grafting. I 500% recommend Dr. Stevens and Omni Dental. The office is beautiful and the staff at the front desk are so helpful and efficient. Needless to say, I will stay with Omni Dental. I feel like I won the lottery, so grateful. read more

All I can say is WOW! Today was my first visit and everyone from front desk, hygienist, to dentist were all fantastic. Very welcoming and helpful. Dr. Stevens went over my X-rays with me, explaining the light/dark shading etc. I have never had a dentist explain how they identify cavities in x-rays before and I really appreciated this!
