I'm not a fashion expert but these names might mean something to you: Palma Talulah Shakuhachi, This is Genevive, One Teaspoon, Children of the Sun, Azuki, Alice Mccall, Piper Lane? Love Affair is actually a bit of a surprise. You have to pass the chicken shop, and the Cafe Primo, and the Blockbuster, and the Eagle Boys, and then at the end of this suburban dream shopping centre you find: funky high end fashion. Who knew? The shop is small but packed full of stuff and from what I can see they have a high turnover, not unlike my handbag and chocolates. While I'm not a fashionista I have noticed that they have one-offs and quirky pretty things that you wouldn't find anywhere else. They also always have sales racks at the front with really nice stuff too. And the store name: provocative isn't it? Makes you want to buy a dress. And some condoms. Good store.

Having been a big fan of Waste Not Want Not on Goodwood Rd, Goodwood for many years I was disappointed to hear that high rents in Unley had forced their re-location recently to Old Reynella. Looking around for a local alternative I ventured to Magill. Ecolateral has a good variety and I agree the owner/manager is nice however the prices are generally prohibitive and I decided that a trip down south would still be cheaper despite the fuel cost. If you are desperate you can probably find what you are looking for if you are prepared to search a bit. You will find eco lines in most health food stores and at the Adelaide Central Market. Better still make a short detour on your next trip to the south coast and visit Waste Not Want Not!

They've just opened in Ebenezer Place so we're lucky to have the original store in the 'burbs. The helpful and friendly owner can tell you what will suit, and you know from the manchester to the makeup it's all ethically sourced. Pop in; the parking is easy and the shop smells freshly scrubbed with organic goodness.

Lots of beautiful wedding dresses and fabrics hanging off of mannequins to resemble what the fabric would look like if it were to construct your wedding dress. It's like a special combination of Enid Blyton dreams and Sex and the City on E. Their whole mission is to assist you create the dream wedding you always wanted, and of course it all starts with the dress.

I made a quick stop at this Salvos store as I am in search for a ceramic butter dish. It is actually quite hard to find one. Apparently they get picked up pretty quick when donated. But, it seems that this store has more clothing than ceramics or homewares. There is nothing wrong with that though. I have a clothing addition. There are many racks of clothing to have a good rummage through. I saw a couple of nice jackets and woollen jumpers. As for the prices, some Salvos are a little more expensive than others. Given the area, the clothing is quite conservative, but there are lots of nice pieces. They have a lot of long skirts, and plenty of men's working wear. They're following the Salvo's trend of selling new jewelry, but there is rarely anything worthwhile. There is a nice range of new-looking cushions and throw rugs at the moment though. Definitely a shop worth checking in on regularly.

Despite being located across the road from their fashion competitors TuYu, Nina Stephanie does a good trade and there is always customers in the store having a browse. They stock labels such as Bluejuice, Paradisco, Angel Biba and Sweetacacia and have a great range of casual and formal wear. The store is spacious and clean and everything is laid out well so it can be easily perused. There are a couple of large change rooms (I hate pokey ones) and the staff are helpful if you need any assistance. They also have a permanent sale rack where items are alternated and they are actually not all junk like most sale racks are; it is a good first port of call to look for a bargain.
