Ice cream looked pretty but tasted pretty gross. Brownie was stale, and the chocolate chips tasted pretty rancid. Inside the store was kind of gross as well. Only one guy was working behind the counter and he didn't even speak to us. Just took our order than held his hand out for my husbands card. Definitely won't be going back

too bad i don't live closer. It's GOOD. I was expecting a dippin dots kinda thing, but it's WAY better. kinda reminded me of astronaut ice cream but better because of the toppings. I LOVED it. I liked how it had a soft crunch. My kid got a scoop of ice cream. and they do offer food. But I did see a deal of ice cream and pizza so you can do that too. Eat inside or outside. Up to you! Please go here and keep this place in business. Price is reasonable and really good.

We came here on a craving and a whim! I was definitely coming for the shaved ice. Upon entering we were nicely greeted by a gentleman, I'm thinking he may have been an owner or the manager because he was very informative about his products and he was very customer friendly. I decided to get the sphere ice cream, because personally I was here with my young son and I thought the experience of watching them make it with a liquid nitrogen would have been cool and THAT it was. I ordered the brownie sundae made with the liquid nitrogen Sphere ice cream balls. Now please keep in mind there are different ways to get your ice cream you can have it traditional, sphered which gives it more of a crunchy texture Or you can opt for a shaved ice. There is a nice little patio outside in the front that you can enjoy, dogs are allowed outside. The inside is extremely clean and very impressive if I do say so myself.

NICE cream. Frozen with Nitrogen crunchy.

Really neat to watch cream and flavor turn into ice cream right before your eyes. The Nitrogen frozen NICE cream is crunchy and cool. A very unique ice cream experience for both adults and kids. They serve shaved ice, sundaes, cones, milkshakes, pierogis, sloppy joes, etc. We LOVED the ice-cream but overall hoped for a better customer service experience. We will return for more Nitrogen frozen ice cream BUT holding on to hope for a friendlier customer service experience. Parking is limited but the location is not very busy. Happy Eating Yeeps!!!

Best ice cream I've had in maybe forever! LOL. It's right down the street and I really wanted to go out and get ice cream. I sampled the butter pecan and fell in love! I got a whole pint of that and two small scoops of mint chip! So creamy and just overall the best. The staff is really nice too. Highly recommend.

This place is a hidden gem! So awesome! I got the Brownie Sundae with their N.I.C.E (which is the ice cream made using liquid nitrogen) the customer service was great, she was nice and gave me some samples. The spot is very very clean and neat! The N.I.C.E was great! Very different texture, you could call it an ice cream pop corn or something! You should def try this place out even if you want traditional scoops, shaved ice, shakes, or whatever your heart desires lol.

Great crew working tonight! It was our first visit and they were so helpful and friendly! We had the brownie Sunday NICED, Cookie Monster ice cream and a shaved ice! They were all amazing!

Yess! This place was amazing! I saw it on a tik tok and just had to come by and try it for myself. The service was good and they were super nice! The NICE cream was not too sweet but had just enough sweetness to make it a tasty, refreshing dessert which is rare for ice cream to be refreshing.. They also have shaved ice and regular(traditional) ice cream scoops. I recommend this place to anyone in the area or that is wanting to try nitrogen ice cream! I will be coming here way more often!

On my way to pick up my son after school, I stopped to get us pizza. With a little time to spare, I decided to venture next door. Nice quiet mid-day mid-week. I wasn't sure how to read the menu. Manager/Owner kindly finished his orders and came around the corner to explain it a bit. A little overwhelming to take in if you're not sure of the flavors or texture you want to start with. Any of the flavors can be made into 3 textures; Italian ice, ice cream-like, or milkshake. The ice cream-like nuggets remind me of larger nugget sized dippin dots. Held together by the quick freeze process of nitrogen. If any of that made sense?! I highly recommend! Bring the family and get creative. Estimate $5-9 per person. This Fall they have also launched authentic Pierogi's. YUMMM.

Stopped by on a winter day for a frozen treat and was greatly impressed. The made from scratch ice cream was a joy to watch bring created and even better enjoyed. The customer service was amazing as well.

It was the perfect summer treat. It had the creaminess from the ice cream but the tropical and citrusy flavors from the lime and pitaya. Please be aware that this place does not have bathrooms, so if you have to go I recommend stopping somewhere before hand. The guy at the counter was patient taking our order. I didn't have much to say about the service other than they did get out my kids orders out quickly. I liked the experience, and it's a great place to enjoy the summer. Tropical to sugary flavors; Dragon fruit to bubble gum. My personal favorite is the Float On which is root beer float inspired with vanilla icecream and it's seriously amazing. They put vanilla ice cream in the middle, shaved ice packed with flavor, and then top it with their house-made whipped cream. It just makes it perfect. The ice cream is delicious, the syrups are flavorful, and you can tell everything is made with care. As far as seating, it's a small spot. Inside where you order, there's only a tiny bit of seating so it's not really somewhere you go to sit for a long time. Most people order at the walk-up window and wait for their name to be called. They do have picnic tables outside if you want to sit out on a nice sunny day. And right beside it, there's an attached space with additional seating if you want to be somewhere a little more covered or out of the weather. It's perfect in the summer, but I also love that they stay open in the winter. They usually do buy-one-get-one free Fridays during the winter, which is such a nice bonus. And the customer service is always really good too friendly and welcoming every time I go. Definitely recommend if you're in Virginia Beach and craving something sweet and refreshing!

Stopped in after a quick trip to NC and thought that it would be nice to grab a snowball. Things that I love about Penguin's Snowball is that it is a locally owned establishment to grab a fun summer time treat and it is in a great location. Also, if memory serves me correctly it is owned by a veteran. I come here several times throughout the summer months and I love the different options, my favorite being the Piccadilly. Today I watched as the young lady, who appeared to be working alone, made snowballs with one glove on her right hand and no glove on her left hand. I stood and watched as she made two snowballs and then realized that she needed more snow. She adds more snow to both cups and proceeds to push the snow with both the gloved and ungloved hand. I had to walk away. Thank you but no thank you. Just doesn't seem sanitary to me. Again, I love Penguin's but this was a hard pass for me.

It's a $2 upcharge if you want it stuffed. The ice cream was good, but the actual snow cone was dry and didn't taste good. We tried to sit outside, there at the tables, but the ants were marching one by one with their ant families out there. So we got up quickly when we realized the ambush!! Lol. I'm gonna say this has to just be a off day because I usually love snow cones, so I'll come back and stick to my regular flavors . There's so many flavor combinations you could try. She met me there and was excited for me to taste what she's been loving--but unfortunately, it just didn't hit for me. I ordered the Watermelon Margarita--a combo of two flavors in one snowball. Right off the bat, it had way too much syrup and not enough ice. It felt more like a slushy than a snowball, and the texture just didn't give me that classic soft, fluffy shave ice vibe I was expecting. On the flip side, my friend ordered a flavor that had ice cream in the center, and she felt hers didn't have enough syrup--so it ended up being kind of dry. Between the two of us, the experience felt really inconsistent. One was too wet, one was too dry. Just not balanced. I really wanted to love this place--especially since the menu is fun and nostalgic--but for me, the flavor-to-ice ratio was off. I probably wouldn't return unless they made some adjustments. That said, staff was friendly and the colors were cute--so points for that. Just not a repeat for me

Once we were greeted (after at least 5 mins of standing in front of the window where we visibly made eye contact with workers) we placed an order for 4 snowballs. Just snowballs, nothing elaborate. We waited by making use of the hula hoops provided by the store (nice touch), interacted with others who were waiting, chatted amongst ourselves and still our snowballs were not ready. We asked what appeared to be the older of the three young ladies working if we can have a refund and were told our orders were being finished. I said but the workers are back there eating a snowball. No acknowledgement was made that the workers were not using their time well to prepare orders. About 5 more mins and the worker we spoke with poked her head inside the shop and said something to the other 2 that resulted in our snowballs being finished and handed off a few mins later. I understand summer employment jobs and having fun while at work in an environment like a snowball stand, however, in total we probably waited around 30+ minutes for 4 snowballs while we watched the workers eating a snowball, chatting with each other, and moving at a snails pace. Snowball is ice and flavor. Training is needed to make sure the workers understand how to maximize their efficiency so they can get customers out of their face and they would actually have more time to do the things that young summer workers like to do when working with their peers.

After leaving a food truck right across the street, I headed here to order a snoball which I haven't had over a year. Just like the 1st time, you head to the front to place your order. Beforehand, I took a look at all the flavors available and chose white chocolate. I also chose marshmallow fluff for the topping. Overall, the snoball was good. The white chocolate flavor was present throughout and having the marshmallow fluff as a topping and in the middle helped with each serving.
