Mystic Falls Tours in Covington is a dream for Vampire Diaries fans, as you come across countless memorabilia from the long-running, cult following CW show, AND get to see the real homes and filming locations that the disturbingly-beautiful cast stepped foot on over the years. Stop by the Mystic Grill for a nice lunch and the gift shop directly beneath the clock tower after the tour for the ending to the perfect day.

Which was really cool to see the memorabilia from various shows that were filmed in the town. They have a tram type bus that fit four to a row. (Really tight seating and probably my least favorite of the tour was the seating.). The tour guides are very knowledgeable and had personal experience with watching the filming and/or being extra's. They stop at three different spots and even stop at one home where the owners came out to talk with us. Pretty neat!

I loved the flexibility of being able to literally take my time and stop to take in all of the sights and locations. The added audio was a neat feature to the experience as well. They were extra helpful with any questions I had with booking and getting access to my tour.. I highly recommend booking with them! We finally got too hot and quit, opting to do our own self guided tour. It was Sep--so not even peak heat times for Georgia--and I could feel my skin burning from not enough sunscreen like I was a vamp without my daylight right. It didn't really give you street addresses, just GPS. It would have been much easier with both, as much as possible. Maybe all of that could have been handled with better knowledge of the GPS options and apps on my phone, but I and my two teenage kids kept thinking we each knew what we were doing better than the other two. Finally, there was a mutiny and I had to abandon my "fun, easy" tour after half an hour or so. Instead, we walked around the square and then got addresses online for the other locations we wanted to see. Maybe if we had purchased the driving tour we would have been happier, but after shelling out money for the abandoned walking tour I just couldn't see spending that much additional money. I've done the Vampire Stalkers tour years ago and next time I'll book in advance and take my daughter on that one. We live close by, so it's not a big deal.

In addition to being an art gallery and having painting classes, ghost tours are also launched from here. I was lucky enough to go on Ann's tour and it was so fun and interesting. There is SO much history here and Ann knows all of it. I loved hearing the stories at each stop. The thing with a small town is that everyone knows where the bodies are buried.....and there are plenty here in Covington. The first night of our event there was a power outage downtown. That made it the perfect setting for our group! What a great spot with or without electrify! If you have any interest in art or ghosts, this gallery is the place for you.
