I used to be a regular client. Recently, I had a horrible experience with one of the employees. No customer service what so ever! I came in with my 4moms swing. She saw I had it in the original box. The employee expected me to build it in the store while I had my one year old son. Instead of telling me from the moment I walked in the store with the box in my hand that they couldn't accept it unless it was built. She just wasted my time. The second time I went in she looked for any reason to not accept my items. I don't know if she's racist or she had something against me. Yet the Employee was not professional at all. She should wait till the client is gone before talking about them. Very disappointed with the service. I will never return and make sure to tell all of my friends and family about my experience at this store read more

I felt compelled to comment on this location. I had read the reviews and must say I was hesitant to go there, but it was the most conveinent location for me, so I went anyways. I'm glad I did. I was impressed by the staff the moment I went in. I was greeted with smiles and an offer to help me bring in my items. The staff was attentive, organized and friendly. I had a question about the terms on the form I filled out, and the team member behind the counter was more than happy to explain it for me. I left my clothes and came back a few hours later, and by then they had had a shift change, but everyone was still as friendly as the earlier shift. I was told they were tallying up the items they were buying from me, and it would be a few more minutes I was then taken to a seperate counter to be advised of what they were buying, and that went smooth as well. No negatives here, I would highly recommend this location to anyone! read more

I travel an hour away to sell my child's clothes. I brought a full box of clothes and found out that the store was only going to buy back 3 items. I asked why the other clothes were not bought. They stated that it is dis-colored. Mind you that most the clothes are brand new or it was bought from this store but never been used. The associates try to show me under the light that there are discoloration on the clothes, which there is not. Then, the associate told me that they are picky on buying girls' clothes because they have so many.. However, they are more lenient in buying boys' clothes.. I told the associates that they need to put on their website that they aren't buying girls' clothes a lot..The associates had excuses and rolled their eyes at me.. I stated to them that if they put that statement on their website, people wouldn't waste their time selling to them if they have girls' clothes This is my second time selling clothes & toys to this store and I wouldn't recommend people to sell their children's clothes here. This place is a God Send! I'm a grandparent who is caring for my infant 2 month old granddaughter for the next 3 months. It was wonderful to be able to purchase gently used swings one for my house the other for her sitter. Great selection of swings, car seats, strollers, bouncers, bumbees, clothing, large toys, etc. They'll even buy it all back when the baby goes back home! Sales people were very helpful espicially SaraJo! She tested everything and even put in my new batteries and helped me to my car! I highly recommend Once Upon a Child to everyone! read more

I wish I could give this 0 stars. Extremely disappointed with Once Upon A Child. I was an out of towner last week who stumbled upon the new location that was going to open (today) in Altamonte Springs, FL. Although the store was not open, they were allowing customers inside to sell their items, and also browse their existing stock (I was asked if I was here to pick up an order which did confuse me since they were closed). By browsing their existing stock, one would guess the items would be available on the grand opening day, correct? Well, I was proven wrong. Although the store was closed, I did ask if there was anything that could be done since I was from out of town and fell in love with a lion rocker (similar to a rocking horse, but it was a lion). Unfortunately, they couldn't- but I understood, rules are rules! I had left the manager a phone number where we could be reached if by any chance there was an early sale. We were also told we could not put any items on hold. The store was set to open up today at 9:30 and I had a family member wait in line for me since I am from a different state. She arrived at 8:30 ready to wait in line and claim the lion rocker I fell in love with. What happened once she couldn't find the rocker? An employee informed her they had sold it earlier that morning, before the store opened. How is that possible? How is it acceptable to waste the time of customer's? After I was informed of the news I called the store and the employee who answered thought I was talking about another item and told me the customer came in a few days earlier and put her name on the item so she was allowed to buy it ahead of time. This confused me since I was not allowed to put an item on hold, why was another customer allowed to do so? Once I told her she was referring to the wrong item, she connected me to the manager: Dana. Dana informed me she had allowed her employees to buy items the night before as a "pre-sale". I completely understand the hard work, dedication, and time the employees sacrificed, especially this being a new store, but what I do not understand is why would they allow potential customers come in and take a look at their existing inventory? Why would they not be told the employees have first "dibs" on items? This is important information seeing as how the customers have a right to know that the item they liked, may not be there when they arrived early opening day. Knowing that small fact would have helped in deciding whether or not to wait out in the Florida heat for an hour before the store opened and risk an item not being there because there was a pre-sale For example, here was a bug-a-boo crib that retails for $900, and this location had a price tag of $300. That's a great price! But what if there was a mother or mother to be in line for THAT stroller only to find out it was sold before the store opened? How is that acceptable? Management should have kept the doors locked until opening day, to avoid this issue. I would also like to know how some customers were allowed to place items on hold, but that privilege was not given to others? This was my first experience at this store, and definitely a last. The customers should always come first- and I am extremely disappointed with today's outcome. I will be e-mailing corporate as well. read more

They suck. I have bought broken toys from them. Clothes with stains. Their inventory sucks. Also, I brought in a nice bouncy chair, swing, floor exerciser, and bassinet and they tried very hard to come up with things they found wrong with them. We are talking about a bassinet on rollers and in really nice condition...used a hand full of times. They've lost my business and any friends of mine who have babies. read more

This is honestly the last straw for me with this store. They're always slower than expected but today I came at a much less busy time than usual to my delight. I had a basket of things to sell and two pieces of equipment. I was told 20-30 minutes for my wait so I stayed and shopped, 40 minutes came and went so I left and come back 20 minutes later and they're still not done processing my sell. They actually finished atleast one sell that came in after me. Why not have the extra person help finish up your first sell when it's going well over the estimate instead of starting a new one. This store should have dedicated staff to take care of people selling things. Not people who get distracted and work on other things in between. Or maybe just fix your time estimate system. It's clearly way off when my 20-30 minute sell takes over an hour. Not even slightly apologetic either. Huge inconvenience, not worth my time or the money I get. Won't be back. read more

Extremely disappointed with Once Upon A Child in Altamonte Springs! They have some extremely rude (Looks like high school kids) working at this location. I was in last week and that will be my last time. I brought in some newborn items to sell, now I never expect to have 100% sold to the store but I expect my items to be looked at and returned in the manner I handed them in. The girl looked over my items for 5 min just tossed them around as she talked about her life to her friends/co works. I brought my items in right out of the dryer laid out and folded in a clear bin, I was given them back all balled up and thrown in my bin (no care given at all) I was told they did not want to buy anything (would have been fine if some did not have the tags on them) I was also told some items your store did not even sell (but I originally bought them at your store my child just grew out of them too quick) I found that funny and very irritating. I asked that maybe someone take a 2nd look at my items because I was having a hard time understanding what the rules were considering the other girl was rolling her eyes at me as she was using a lint brush to clean someone else items and buy them. I was treated so poorly and insulting I felt the need to say something. Fix your staff. By the way I went to the location on 50 with the items your store passed on (never looked at), they bought 90 % of them, they were nice and retuned the other items the same way I dropped them off. I have two young kids in daycare, moms' talk, and your store is never spoken highly about. Please retrain your staff or find some professional workers. Your weekend staff is terrible!!! read more

Shopped here a few times for miscellaneous kids clothes and been pretty happy about my purchases. The store is a little cramped but they have a decent selection. Fitting room seems to be an old converted bathroom and very hot. My experience shopping has been decent but selling was horrible. I left several items for sale and was told I would be called the same day but if I didn't pick up the next day by 8 PM they would be donated. Turns out they didn't even take the time to call me until three days later but the person was so rude on the phone I informed them I would just pick up the clothes to donate. They did have a decent offer prepared for the clothing but I had already decided to collect all the items and donate instead. They said I must show an ID when I picked up but they only asked my name and never checked my identification at pick up. Overall 3 stars because I like their selection and prices but they loose a star because the store is just too cramped and the service is usually subpar. Always lots of employees working but they always seem a little too busy to help the customers that are shopping. read more

I shopped at this store a few days ago and I was very impressed. I have two daughters and they both needed shoes. I figured I would check out this place instead of buying brand new shoes that they would be out of in a few months. I was very impressed with the selection of shoes. We left there with about 6 or 7 pairs of shoes. The quality and condition of the shoes were very good and the price was even better. We did not shop for clothes, but all of the clothes were organized by size so I am sure it would be easy to find what you are looking for. We did not have time to look for clothes, but when I have more time we will definitely be back - especially for shoes! read more

I have hesitated to leave a review because I don't like to leave negative reviews, but I have given this store so many chances and they keep failing miserably. I have bought and sold from this location probably a dozen times, never fully satisfied but about the last 5 times I have tried to sell there, I couldn't believe what they refuse to buy from me. I take in high quality clothes, some of which have barely been worn before my kids outgrow them, and they hardly buy anything I bring in. They passed over a special occasion dress that my daughter wore ONCE, with no flaws. On my last two visits I decided to ask what was wrong with the clothes they passed over. This most recent visit, the woman said, "There were some stains." ONE of the 10 pairs of pants had a faint stain that I missed, but 5 of them were practically new chino pants, worn maybe twice, with no flaws. So obviously THOSE are the ones I was asking about, not the one with the stain I missed. So I said, "What about these 5 practically new ones?" She barely gave me an answer, something like, "well, we also look at how worn they are." No, they didn't. The pants looked the same as the day I bought them new, and this woman didn't want to acknowledge there was nothing wrong with them. The interaction was really awkward, actually. Yet when I go to their racks to buy for my kids, there are so many clothes that are more worn than what I bring to sell. I've bought a few things but I've passed up many items in that store that would have been great except they had more wash wear or pilling than anything I've tried to sell. Every time this happens, I say I should stop going there. This time I'm finally done. read more
