Honestly these teenagers don't know the prices of baby items/clothes. They have a lot of clothing with grease stains and shoes we won't even start talking about the shoes. I guess when you bring in clean items they don't want it since it's too clean and they would have to offer more. There excuse is always "we couldn't accept your items due to stains" why would someone bring clothes in with stains. Try Kid to kid, better experiences always. read more

If you don't already know, Once Upon A Child is a resale store for children's clothes and items such as toys, winter accessories, books, games, and shoes. It's a large space with rows upon rows of clothes for infants up to big kids. The first time I came here, there was some kind of sale, so I was able to score a bag of really nice clothes, some with tags still attached for $20!! Amazing! The next time I was here, there was not such a sale, and just a few items rang up quite a bit. I also didn't find as much that I liked for him, either. The clothes are organized by age and sometimes type of clothing and/or coloring, but occasionally they'll be scattered throughout, and often the wrong size or gender. It only bothers me when I find something I love in a certain area and find out it's the wrong size. Toys, games, books, are around the perimeter of the store. Specialty items (like Matilda Jane clothes) will be on their own rack or display. Hit or miss. I'll probably make a run out here when the seasons change or my kid's size changes quickly and I need a bunch of outfits for him. Or if I really want that designer pair of shoes available here for a lower (but not that cheap) price. But otherwise, I'm one of those people that is content with Walmart clothes or the stuff on sale at Kohl's. Kids grow so fast! read more

My favorite local kids store ! they literally have everything! The service is absolutely incredible, the store looks so organized and clean! While I was shopping with my son, I witnessed the employees going above and beyond to help customers. They were also going through and re organizing by size and color etc. the new manager is doing SO well, she is very personable and insightful! I can't say enough good things. I always look forward to my next shopping trip, I usually always find more than what I need!! read more

I came to this location looking for a stroller to replace ours that had broken. We originally had a Graco modes stroller and I was pleased to see the exact same one in front of the store. The price tag was $150 and every other stroller around this one was up for under $100. I asked if I could have the stroller for $75 since I saw that it was the average cost of the other strollers. Even brands that I KNOW are more expensive retail than this graco stroller was. The very nice sales associate went to ask her manager if they could sell that stroller for this price. the manager purposely and very loudly so that I could hear her said "WHAT?! NO! That's insane, this stroller retails for over $300, absolutely not" in a tone that was so rude as to make me feel like I was insane for asking. I know for a fact that the stroller does not cost over $300 retail. The full set cost over $300. That's a stroller, car seat, and car seat base. All she had to do is say no. I wasn't arguing or being combative, all I did was ask if I could have the discount. If the answer is no, that's all she had to say. But she went out of her way to make me feel dumb. The reason I felt confident asking for this discount was because the price tag on the stroller was so faded compared to the price tags on the other strollers, that it had clearly been sitting there for months. I thought surely they would be willing to give some sort of discount to get it out the door. In the end, I left without the stroller because they said they were firm on the price. I came back less than two weeks later to go shopping for clothes. I saw the same exact stroller in the same exact place with a brand new price tag on it. $70. I just don't see the point in being rude for no reason, especially when I clearly was right about the price. Looks like they will be holding onto it for longer. We found one on Facebook marketplace instead for $60. The two stars is for the wide selection they have. Better than other once upon a Child locations. But that's all they get from me. read more

So let's start this off with we loved this place until approximately 3 hours ago. We are not wealthy people by any means. My wife sorted through our youngest child's clothes last night. She put the clothes in a large box that we were not going to keep. The clothes were clean and had been laundered a couple of months ago before we had stored them in our bedroom closet. They did not, and do not smell like they have been in storage. They chose to pass on all of them claiming that they did. We smelled them once we got them back to the car. They did not smell like they'd been in storage. It's one thing to have high standards for the clothes you sell, but it's another to flat out snub perfectly clean clothes that are in good shape. They also chose to follow me around the store while we were shopping. I had requested a chair prior to this due to my back hurting. I have lordosis, this puts pressure on my spine and causes back pain. They declined my request for a chair citing covid. Due to the back pain I was sweating and my blood pressure was up. To be followed around like I'm a criminal because of this is just insulting. All in all our experience was less than ideal to put it mildly. Going forward, the clothes our children out grow will simply be donated to a local shelter to help out those who need it. read more

I love the new lay out of the store, I hadn't been in a long time. Definitely an improvement. I also found a lot of new Cat & Jack items for super cheap today. Super exciting. My complaint: we spent a lot of time folding clothes to bring here to sell and the ones they didn't want were just tossed back in the bucket. I wish I'd asked y'all to fold them back. Literally not one piece of the unwanted stuff was folded. For someone that can't stand wrinkles, it pissed me off. OUAC asks for clean and neat clothes but then they don't reciprocate. Do better. I came here looking for a coat for many 8 month Old. I immediately found the perfect jacket. I also found a sleeper, a couple outfits, another jacket and 10 bodysuits because they were 10 for $10. The store was clean, there were lots of options and easy to find. The staff was friendly, helpful and quick. I give it 4 stars and the only reason I don't give it 5 is because there was an outfit I would have liked to have that they separated and and prices separately and placed together on a rack (makes no sense except to get more money) and because I found a cute outfit that was brand new with original tag stating that it was bought in clearance and the store staff prices it higher than what it was bought for which I didn't agree with. They have started pricing clothes higher than what they used to. I've been buying clothes where since my first child who is now 16. Oh well. I've bought and sold here and I normally have a great experience till this last time... someone severely messed up! Bought a high chair from here a few weeks ago. Sadly on my part did not keep the receipt. Used daily and found out my child can easily climb out of said high chair...so decided to take back to once upon a child in hopes of doing another sell and buy. Come to find out they wouldn't buy the high chair because it didn't have the straps... yet you would sell it to me without straps? Needless to say I am piss! read more

4 stars for having lots of stuff! The high turnover rate of stuff here means you'll likely find new things every visit. Large inventory. Sometimes pricing on things is a little wonky. I've seen identical items priced differently. I haven't sold anything here to accurately judge that side. 1 star deducted due to some haphazard clothes organization. read more

Their prices are reasonable...some of their clothes they accept and resell are a little too worn for "good used condition" though. It is a little bit stressful to shop in the right isleways and if you have to bring your kids along forget it. There are no buggies for children to ride along in NOR are the isles even big enough for your stroller and a person. As for selling they kinda low ball you when buying. After you see some of the things that are on the sell racks and see what they don't take of yours? You just wonder what on earth they were thinking buying that! read more

I bought some last minute gifts on march 31st. All three toys were still in the sealed outer packaging. The game was used and in rough shape. The goldie blox set had no animals, book, or crank also had another childs birthday card in the box. The melissa doug loom was missing a dowel rod, needle, and all projects had been done already. My daughter was very upset at her 5th birthday party to say the least. I tried to call the store to find out they don't take calls anymore. I emailed goldie blox and they replaced the missing items. I called melissa and doug and they sent a brand new loom with all the projects included. Bottom line open all boxes to make sure they are complete even if it looks brand new it may not be. read more

Love this store! Especially with the new renovations. The store is much bigger and is extremely organized. The prices are great, I bought a ton of infant onesies as a gift. The quality of the clothes I bought were nearly new and two of the items still had the tags on! Definitely if you have kids or need a baby gift I would stop in here first. I had put off visiting this place because of mediocre reviews but finally checked it out and was pleasantly surprised! Huge selection, very organized, and very reasonable. I found exactly what I wanted for my baby girl in great shape and less than half of what I would have spent elsewhere. Lots of new stuff too, including toys. The staff and owner were attentive and friendly. Lots of sale stuff available. Much better selection and prices than Ladybug Landing and stuff like shoes were in better shape here too. I love this place because you can get some gently used clothing and shoes for a cheap price, some stuff. I have been a customer of Once Upon A Child for 14 years and I keep coming back. I try to sell but they normally don't want anything. Yesterday, I took some stuff to sell and waited for almost 6 hours for them to deny most of the stuff and offer me $5.85 for the stuff they did take. I live almost an hour away, so I had to wait that whole time which is rediculous and I watched some of the people that work there just standing around doing nothing. Also, some of the stuff I had to sell looked better than some of the stuff they have in the store. Another thing, they had a pair of booties that come from the Dollar General marked $4.50 and they clearly had the $1 price tag on them. I will continue to shop there but they need to change some stuff read more

I sold clothes and took store credit so I could get a little more bang for my buck so I spent $23 and change of the total amount ($33 and change for one buy $13 and change for the second) which left me with $18 and change in store credit well I went back a week or two later to use the rest of my credit only to be told I have no credit so luckily I kept the store credit receipt and brought it back and they were able to use the $18 in store credit I had left. I am so glad I kept the credit receipt. It was so embarrassing to get to the counter to checkout and be told I have no store credit when I knew I did. Next time I will be sure to take cash for my buy because I had to drive all the way home and come back with the slip showing I still had credit. I was told it was either a glitch in the system or info was put in incorrectly. Either way they said that I did not have to keep the slip they could look me up in the system but like I said earlier luckily I kept my receipt otherwise I would have been cheated out of my $18 while my clothes were being sold. Please fix that glitch. Still going to shop there but I should not have to go through that especially when I was told the credit could be looked up in the system. Moral of the story is keep your store credit receipt or take cash for your buy. read more

I've never sold clothes here, so I can't say anything about that experience, and this review is purely from the perspective of a buyer. Shopping here kind of stresses me out (especially if my 2 year-old is with me!), but they occasionally have good sales, which is the only time I come here. If you aren't shopping here during an event that is BOGO or better, the prices really aren't worth the hassle of shopping here. The aisles are really narrow with the racks STUFFED with items, so if you're trying to navigate it with a grabby child, it is really challenging to navigate. I've learned to avoid it entirely on weekends (the last time I went on a weekend, it literally took 40 minutes to checkout once I was in line... not cool with a young child you're trying to wrangle!!). Every time I've come here, the counter where they buy clothing has a lot of employees working, but the checkout never has more than two registers open, which seem to be staffed by teenagers that have little interest in being there and really struggle to complete transactions. For the most part, I would much rather shop at consignment sales (especially during the half price day that many offer at the end of the sale). read more
