This is one of the few places in Siegen that sells pho, and given the sometimes rainy climate of…read moreNRW, a bowl of hot, rice-noodle soup is sometimes exactly what the body needs to feel a little better. The business is owned by a nice (Vietnamese?) family, and for how small this shop is, they really accomplish much with the space they have. Some of the shop is for pan-Asian groceries like wasabi, fish sauce, rice cookers, tea sets, nori, and other ingredients typical of East Asian (and some Indian) cuisine. The other part of the store is an open kitchen and small dining room with three or four tables where customers can get some lunch. The store is small but functional, especially for selling specialty ingredients not typically found in German grocers. Just be sure to bring cash as they do not take credit or debit cards (at least since the last time I went). Overall, this place is good for a tasty lunch, ingredients for Asian cooking, and inexpensive spices.

This place used to be my quick-but-okay source of asian food. It is kind of back-alley, due to its…read morepositioning at Löhrstraße and its small size. I cannot say anything about the bubble-tea quality (urks), but the choice of the small supermarket is typically asian, and i like it. It does not have too many fresh vegetables, but the standard pan-asian (chinese?) spices and ingredients which I wouldnt no where to get in Siegen, if not there. The food form the diner is okay for a quick lunch or a cheap dinner. You can both eat in the diner, where some seats and tables are provided, but they lack any attempt to create an athmosphere. Very functional. So, for me, takeaway is the better choice. Sadly food quality really varies. Personally, I dont go there for lunch anymore, because the last time i had lunch there tasted like yesterdays oil in the wok. There are other asian restaurants around, which I would rather recommend.

The ramen was pretty good for Cologne standard. I ordered the traditional Tokyo shoyu ramen. The servers were attentive even though the restaurant was busy. It's definitely worth the wait!

Good ramen in Germany is hard to find, but Takumi makes great ramen. Not the best in my life, but…read morereally good for Germany, so it gets full stars for someone that has been stuck in Germany and hasn't been back to Japan for 2 years. You have to ask for pepper for your ramen and rice vinegar for your gyoza, but that is a bit minor. They have no raw garlic toppings and this was a disappointment for me. You have to ask for more sesame toppings if you desire. They had a tap for Kirin beer, but they told me at lunch time that they were sold out. 5 stars egg noodles 5 stars Miso soup 3 stars Chasyu, was tasty, but really thin and they gave you one slice. 0 stars No raw garlic topping 5 stars Gyoza, because they had Nira in them 0 stars No Kirin beer on tap Gute Ramen sind in Deutschland schwer zu finden, aber Takumi macht großartige Ramen.
