The actual eye test was easy and the lady explained everything she was doing, not like how I remember them from when I was a child, it was scary then. I received a phone call a couple of days later to say that my new glasses were ready, I went to collect them and the lady adjusted them so that they were as comfortable as possible. I'm really happy with the service I received, and my new glasses, and they were right, they are perfect.

The shop is actually fairly big and very brightly lit which makes looking at the glasses much easier. I found the staff attentive and helpful and I actually visited three times as I was not intending initially to have an eye test. I was due an eye test next month anyway and managed to print a voucher from the internet for a half price eye test and a 10% off voucher for a new pair of glasses. The eye test was effecient and I was seen promptly and the optician explained everything that happened. I was very impressed with the service and hopefully my glasses will be ready to be collected on Tuesday.

While I was waiting for my check-up, the customer service assistant reviewed my prescription and…read morecalled me over to the funky high-tech equipment to take photos of my eyes. Then he used the machine that blows puffs of air into them to check for diabetes and glaucoma. In the middle of this test the optician came up behind him and told him that the machines wouldn't give any results as I was wearing contacts this should've been an obvious question as my prescription is so deep that I can't see without any lenses hrmmm apparently it was 'let's play qualified optician' day for the staff. Meanwhile, I was happy with the actual service and examination from the optician that attended to me although I made sure to skip the sales pitch after the appointment, from the psudeo assistant that did my initial 'tests'. Hopefully I'll be ok with the new prescription she provided. I have strong doubts about the healthcare system in this country and today's visit to specsavers just proved my concerns.

However, I'm soooo glad I did in the end because not only was the sight test the most thorough I've ever had (and only a tenner), but I bought a pair of stunning Prada frames which were cheaper than the ones listed on other Web Outlets. The dispenser took time in advising me on colours and frame shapes - the kind of service that never existed at my old opticians! I have a complicated prescription but they made the experience painless and I was over the moon when I collected my designer glasses a week later. I managed to buy a decent pair of specs with prescription lenses for £50 which is the cheapest I have found anywhere and they are nice frames, nothing designer mind you but nothing old fashioned by any means. A lot of the other opticians Iv been to, made me feel rushed and the examination was performed far to fast, but not specsvers, they check and check again and give you time for your eyes to adapt before asking you which lense you can see clearer from. In other opticians Iv had to ask for a retest as when it comes to trying the new glasses on, as iv not been 100% happy with the prescription. but never in specsavers have I had this problem. The have always been friendly and welcoming, whichever branch I have visited have a good section of frames. They also offer you contact lenses and again these are very reasonably priced. The only negative I'v found is that they have lost my personal information on several occasions, whether its my contact lense prescription or my glasses prescription. Im not sure if its because Iv moved town a few times or since I changed my surname but they really need to sort out their filing system

They've also messed around my brother for his contact lenses so I've stayed well clear of them. The Basingstoke branch quickly sorted out all Camberley's mess in an efficient and polite manner. They're customer service here is absolutely fabulous. They offer the same services as all the Vision Express stores but their customer interface is excellent here. The shop is pristine and they often have sales on glasses frames which i guess they have to do to stay competitive with the likes of Spec Savers.
