    Island Fire Chicken Aloha Plate
    Mary Jae L.

Ono Hawaiian barbecue has been very reliable for fresh, tasty and reasonably priced food. I really enjoyed their Lava shrimp when it was offered and hope it comes back! Their Chicken Katsu continues to be a favorite of ours. The Island Fire Chicken is delicious with a medium spice level. The salad that comes with the Aloha plates is quite heavy on the red onions, and since I'm not a huge fan of red onions, I picked them out and enjoyed the salad much more without them. The portions are generous. There is self serve teriyaki and katsu sauce available too. There is ample parking and the seating indoors is clean and bright. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Today went to go to this place to pick up food for my girlfriend who loves this place. They prepared the food in a very quick manner and I was impressed. Unfortunately, they did forget the pie that I ordered but since it's something small, it's not too much of a big deal.

I do recommend this place. The food is good. I don't like shrimp however this was really good that I said to my husband I would like to eat it again. The place is ok. Needs to be more clean though. Like the tables and such. I had to ask the lady who works there to clean the table please so that my husband and I can sit there and eat. The people that works there they were nice. The service is more like McDonalds type of service. Eh. Try it out for yourself

Great quick bite place. Priced reasonably. And taste is great . It's healthier than other semi fast food places . Plenty of parking outside and staff are super friendly and helpful . It takes liger to prepare and cook the food but that's the only downside about this . Overall great ambiance for lunch or a grab and go place

I went in for lunch on Thursday. It was pretty busy and I got my food around 15-20 mins after ordering. I ordered fish & chicken plate as the entree and musubi as the side. - fish & chicken combo: delicious! The fish had crispy breading & cooked perfectly. The grilled chicken was flavorful and tender. The macaroni salad was good and delicious. The self-served teriyaki sauce complemented the chicken perfectly. The portion was generous and I was super stuffed by the end of the meal - spam musubi: delicious! Who doesn't like spam?! - beef & chicken combo: very good. Both meat was tender & cooked perfectly. They marinated the meat well and they were flavorful.

I will say that "Ono Hawaiian BBQ" has put their name on the map all throughout California and Arizona. With dozens of locations in the greater Sacramento area, Bay Area, Los Angeles, and Phoenix metropolitan area, they've been the spot for some delicious, authentic Hawaiian food on the west coast ever since 2002. The location I am focusing on is in Rancho Cordova, CA. Located in a busy strip mall at 10841 Olson Dr., this Ono Hawaiian BBQ has been in operation dating back to the summer of 2019. Since I work in the Rancho Cordova area, I came here during my lunch on the afternoon of Tuesday 5/23/2023 at around 12:15pm. Parking can be busy during lunch time since this has always been known to be a crowded area most of the time. Upon entering, many tables were occupied with patrons dining in. There are several tables that seat up to 4 guests as well as a long communal table that can comfortably seat about 8. Furthermore, they offer a self-serve fountain drink area as well as a cooler that sells Hawaiian Sun canned beverages and bottled waters. Since I was in the mood for a filling lunch, I went with their "Hawaiian BBQ Chicken" plate lunch (for $11.79). This consisted of two very generous pieces of boneless/skinless chicken that is coated and sautéed in their signature teriyaki sauce complete with two heaping scoops of steamed white rice, macaroni salad, and a bed of veggies. Total time it took for my order to go through to when I got my food was roughly 10 minutes. Keep in mind that it was quite busy so if you're a limited lunch break, I would suggest calling in your order ahead of time. After making the quick 5-minute drive back to my office, I opened up the packaging and loved how generous the portions were. The chicken was seasoned well while the rice was fairly moist. Since I have been to other locations, I kind of had an idea of how their food tastes. I also enjoyed dipping the chicken into the included sauces; teriyaki and katsu. And for the price you pay, you're getting a large enough portion that can almost cover two meals. Overall, this location has above average customer service, spacious interior, and quick ready-to-eat food. With that said and done, I am giving the Rancho Cordova "Ono Hawaiian BBQ" an above average four stars.

    Korean short rib plate. Delicious!

Ono... is oh yes!! Yes please on the good simple, delicious Island-ish themed food. Plus great pricing for the value. The counter service eatery is in Rancho Cordova and is super close off Highway 50, Zinfandel Drive exit. It's in the same shopping plaza with Target, Daiso, and a bunch of other shops. Several weeks ago, I dropped on in for dinner. I ordered the short rib plate and an order of cream cheese wontons. The short ribs are Korean style, marinated slices of beef rib cross. It's grilled and taste sooo good. Great taste from the marinade and the grilling. The plate came with a side of Hawaiian macaroni salad. I liked it. It's made true to the typical Hawaiian mac salads that I've eaten in my lifetime. For the folks that need more flavor, just doctor it up with the condiments provided which included siracha. I also bought a can of Hawaiian Sun soda. Luv that stuff. The sodas are made using sugar and not HFCS. They come in a bunch of different flavors such as mango, passion fruit, and kiwi strawberry. They even had young coconuts. I was told that they don't always have those and when they do, they tend to sell out quickly. The cashier was terrific, I can't remember his name... I think it was Ashton. He had a great attitude, knowledgeable about the menu, and expedited orders out to customers quickly. He didn't rush customers as he answered questions but also didn't dilly dally. The place was clean. Well because Ashton and crew was keeping it so. They even had a box of plastic gloves at the self serve condiment counter. They offered several different types of sauces.

6/15/23 Came in and grabbed dinner on the way home from the airport and ordered 3 plates (KALBI short ribs, chicken Katsu, island fire chicken) and a large fountain drink. Staff was friendly and since I was beating the dinner rush, I was in and out quick. It's super clean and the condiment bar is awesome and they were nice enough to give me a bag for my sauce in case of spillage. Mahalo Ono! We'll be back.

Came here for lunch after doing some shopping. They are located in the same plaza as Ross, Target, etc. Indoor seatings were available as well as take outs. They offer different types of meats. Chicken, beef, pork and seafood. They also have kids meal. I ordered the Hawaiian bbq mix. Which consists of kalbi short ribs, beef and chicken. Also added a side of the fresh mix salad. Food was ready within 5 mins. Super fast! The bbq mix was really good. The rice was a bit too mushy though. Maybe that was how it supposed to be. Salad was good. The salad was a good addition to the heavy meal. Portion for the plate was huge. Had some leftovers. Self serve soft drinks and dipping sauces station.

I like that Ono Hawaiian BBQ at this location is in a quiet area of the parking lot. I can find a parking spot much more effortless. The BBQ Mix I ordered is ready in 10 minutes. It tastes perfect. The portion is considerable. Perfect for my hungry stomach. The dining room is clean with lots of sunlight. It is a little too warm in the summer afternoon if the table is next to the window. Other than that, the dining room is comfortable. I enjoy having my meals here when I'm in the area.

My only complaint on this Sunday, June 21st, is that after the initial basket of bread (which had exactly four pieces for the 4 of us) we were told by Reece that the restaurant charges $2.00 for each extra piece of bread! I was shocked, and frankly, it's an insult in my opinion, that Rudy's is so "cheap" about the bread! For all we pay for our dinners, asking for extra bread should not be a problem nor an extra charge! That really is a shame because now I am hesitant to consider bringing friends to Rudy's. I hope management will reconsider its' position on the service of bread.

We got the "special" buy one pound get the next pound free so we did shrimp. We got shrimp, sausage, corn, potatoes, and dungeness crab with the special blend in one bag. The hook and reel special blend was honestly pretty gross it was sweet, Smokey and not very buttery or salty at all. We asked for lemon pepper and extra butter to put inside(which was an extra charge) it made it a little better but I've definitely had better elsewhere. The garlic noodles were really good they had a soy sauce flavor, garlicky and cheesy. The price was pretty expensive considering I've spent $30 less elsewhere. Here at hook & reel I spent $96 The service was good. She was very kind and helpful but also wasn't very attentive. The restaurant and the bathrooms were very clean. Overall I wouldn't come back and I recommend going to Captain crab in Elk Grove it is so much better tasting and cheaper!!

Outdoor seating is available and the restaurant is in a well maintained shopping area near a grocery store. We loved seeing the fresh made bread coming out of the oven which is served with an oil/vinegar dip; however, the bread was doughy in the middle and became inedible. The Fettucini Alfredo for $25 was meh. The pasta was gummy and the sauce needed A LOT of salt, pepper and extra parmesan to amp up the flavor. Driving from Natomas it was a bit of a drive but I'm always down to try a new spot when she is in town. The parking situation at this restaurant was pretty nice-they share a big lot with many businesses,so parking was ample. We walked in towards the end of the night, like around 830pm,only a few people in there, but it was late. They have a pretty decent-sized restaurant with lots of tables,so I would feel comfortable going there with limited wait time most days. We sat down and they have a pretty decent sized menu with lots of options, but I was pretty sure I knew what we wanted. We went with Soft Tofu Soup($19.99). We also went with two orders of Dolsot Bibimbap ($20.99) Lastly we went with an order of their YangYum Chicken Wings($25.99) They provided us with complimentary Banchan as well-almost everything they provided was standard and they were yummy-I'd say the three of us ate about 90% of it-so good. The food came out pretty fast starting with the chicken wings. Overall the wings were pretty tasty and juicy but just a tad sweet for my taste. I tend to prefer my food on the spicier side. The soup came out next and it was sizzling. I really enjoyed the awesome flavor of the broth, very tasty and would order this again without hesitation. Now my son and I both got the Bibimbap and we both came to the same conclusions. -Aesthetic-perfect-almost didn't want to eat it. -Temperature-so hot with crunchy vegetables -loving it -Ingredients-perfect mixture of rice, meat, vegetables and egg -Taste-every bite was better than the last one and had me looking forward to the next bite. Easily my favorite Bibimbap I've had so far. Overall I would say I had a wonderful visit with my son and daughter and was so very happy that my daughter visiting me from Texas got me to add another great restaurant to my Sacramento resume. The BBQ Chicken came on a sizzling platter, but initially about 20% of the chicken was undercooked and had pinkness. They took it back and re-cooked it to 109% doneness. Bulgolgi is our son's favorite and he ate most of it. The meat was sliced thicker than most other places but flavors were otherwise good and I like the level of sauce.
