They don't answer their phones or call you back. Terrible service ! Tried to call 4 locations with no luck ! Sad!

I deposited a $25,000 check into my OnPath Federal Credit Union account via online deposit on 1/13. Without alerting me prior, the deposit memo stated the funds would be held until 1/21. The check fully cleared the originating account on 1/14. To be safe, I called OnPath before 1/21 and was explicitly told by a representative that the funds would be released on 1/21. On 1/21, the funds were still unavailable. When I called again, I was told the hold had been extended until 1/26 with no prior notice or valid explanation. I explained that I had been told the funds would be released on 1/21 and that the check had already cleared, but OnPath refused to release the funds or honor their original commitment. Extending a hold after confirming a release date, especially once the check has cleared, is unacceptable and caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience. read more

Experience is unfriendly, no privacy when handling transactions, very non-personal. Personnel are extremely unfriendly. Absolutely loathe this place. Security is very non-comforting. The process is daunting. The atmosphere is very unwelcoming and unfriendly. Ended business relationship. read more

Avoid this CU at all costs, too many predatory fees, and excuses when you call them about your account. Get an online account, no $32 overdraft fees like this place, no excessive $3 atm fees like Onpath. They charge you for EVERYTHING. Also, they claim they are so big, then why are so many New Orleans atms have disappeared. Their is only one in Carrollton, and one way uptown on Prytania. The online app does not even have an on/off feature like most banks offer to protect your debit card usage. So, if your card is stolen, and used fraudulently, you won't know until you discover it, and then Onpath puts you through the hell of filing a fraud report, cancelling your card, waiting forever for a new one, and make YOU prove that it wasn't't you, all of which could be avoided by adding an on/off feature to the app. Sounds like 1970's banking, doesn't it. read more

I'm giving 5 stars to Ruth! I ordered a debit card at the beginning of the month. I was told by a few associates that it will be in this day or that day(pretty much the run around) but I never received it. Called multiple times bc now it's been almost a month that I did not receive my card. Well today (3/27/2023) I went inside and was helped by Ruth. Literally within 3 mins I was issued a new card!!! Thanks to her taking the time out to see that it had been awhile that maybe my card was lost in the mail! I really hope she see's this review to know how much that meant to me that she literally did something within 3 mins that should have been done 3 weeks ago! She was so kind, so sweet, and just all around amazing with that short amount of time! I wish I would've talked to her a few weeks ago bc I wouldn't have this happen! I find ASI Federal Credit Union to most importantly give exceptional customer service. In each visit at any branch I find the workers to be helpful and knowledgeable and willing to help you create solutions for whatever financial thing you working with or trying to save. They have a great portfolio of resources for everyone no matter their specific financial status. I definitely recommend Federal Credit Union especially for savings accounts. This specific location is the main branch and they have ample parking. If you go to this branch on a Saturday, keep in mind it may be a little crowded but the line moves rapid. read more

Other customers said it first WORSE FINANCIAL INSTITUTION EVER. Reported fraud on my account a month ago, still has not cleared or received reimbursement. In relation to this was told I needed to cancel my card and get a new one. Didn't have a problem until they said my options were either to get sent one for free or if I went into the bank I would be charged a fee. If there's fraud on my account why am I getting penalized for something that is mandated by the company? Now this first option also gets bad because even if I decided to be sent a new card it wouldn't take the normal 7-10 business days they informed that it would take 2-3 weeks to receive my card... Smh, so I asked if they could expedite my card overnight they said they could but I would be charged a $25 fee and it would still take 2-3 weeks. I'm going to let that soak in for a minute. Now someone please make it make sense. I see why all these customers have been so disappointed with this credit union read more

Their Fraud prevention is a joke, in fact it seems to be non-existent. My account was cleaned out by thieves for out of state charges that were completely out of character for my account and the thieves continued to try to charge purchases after they took everything and I got ZERO notice from OnPath. No phone call, no email, nothing. What I did get is an overdraft charge when a legitimate check bounced because the thieves took EVERYTHING. There is no customer service outside of regular business hours so I had to wait to talk to someone about submitting a fraud report (clue, you can't do this thru your online account portal - it doesn't seem like you can do much more than see transactions online. The fraud report form is buried on their website and you'd have to be told where to look. I got zero acknowledgement that they had even received the report. Four days had passed and I had to call to confirm they even had the report and then was told that I *may* get my money back if it works out that the merchant who took the fake card sees fit to refund. I will be moving my account as it's clear they have no fraud prevention in place and I have zero confidence in their ability to notify me of potential fraud much less prevent it. read more

This Credit Union has lost its vision and drive to follow their mission statement:To strengthen the financial health of underserved communities through financial services and education. I have been with ASI FCU for 24 Years and today I am closing all of my accounts with them. I have in the past: Paid off 3 car loans Paid off 2 personal loans Paid off a house loan (26 YEARS EARLY!) Had all of my financial matters at their institution. They are too big to service the LOCAL COMUNITY and MILITARY with compassion, understanding and fairly. Just recently I was charged $54 and $28 to use my own money. I am active duty military and I needed to transfer funds to cover an expense at my home in Metairie. I was told there would not be any fee and then I was hit with 2 fees. I called to talk to them and only talked to CALL Centers who were not local. My wife even worked for this bank for a few years when we lived in New Orleans area. I had no resolution on my issue and even requested to talk to ASI Federal Credit Union's CEO Mignhon Tourné and she did not even call back. I urge all Military, Reserve, Retired Military and Military Civilians to transfer to USAA and not accept this level of support from a Credit Union that says one thing but clearly does another. This is the worst credit union/bank I've ever banked with. Website always down, apps always down, customer service representatives(mainly at elmwood) are rude and have no care or concern with you as an account holder. They also don't disclose important information during loans etc. if you bank with them make sure you ask as many questions as possible to keep yourself from getting screwed. And don't expect to be able to check your account on a mobile device 90% of the time. But if you're a student there's no overdraft fees so have fun! Fcuk asi read more

If you're looking for a local financial institution, this is the place. We've kept our money here for two decades at this point. Yes, we're old! Anyway, they are a full service bank, and it's a Louisiana business. They know who we are; we've taken out auto loans, held several money market accounts, and have two business accounts with them. They have fantastic service, very minimal charges of any type, and it's a credit union, so you're not lining some Wall St. execs pocket. What more could you want? Keep it local! read more

This is by far the worst credit union that you can possibly use. I banked with them individually when I first moved back to New Orleans. They were pitiful then, and I ended up closing the account. Well, I am a nurse at ochsner and I was a member of their credit union and somehow, ochsner credit union was liquidated, and all accounts were transferred to asi. So I had to go back to dealing with them. The transition was less than smooth, my husband's name was not added to the account even though it was a joint account, unable to sign in on their online banking, and then when I did call customer service, a message was played saying that it would be 3.00 to talk to someone for routine information! So if you wish to speak to a live person about YOUR money there is a fee? Ok. The wait time was 20 minutes with 15 callers ahead of me. It was 10:15 am. When I finally did get ahold of someone I was told that in order for my husband to be added to the account, he would have to come in and APPLY and sign a signature card, regardless of the fact that this was a joint account. She had zero interest in helping me, and also told me that I owed them money in the process of the accounts being changed because a recurring charge came thru that I might add they did not honor. First of all, let's talk about location. Seriously, there needs to be something between Harahan and Uptown or the Westbank. It is the least conveniently located bank ever. Then there are the "mobile" banking options, which is basically just the website and basically limited to checking your balance and transferring funds from savings to checking. Only, the site doesn't work on iPhones. Then there's the fact that they all of a sudden started holding every check I deposit hostage. I've been with the credit union for over 10 years and never had this issue until recently. Now, I have to wait 2 days - a week for funds to be available. Then, my debit card was declined when I traveled out of state....three times....despite my calling ahead to let them know of the pending unusual activity. Finally, there's the fact that they "lost" checks I put in the night drop...three times over the course of about 6 months. I'm done and currently shopping banks to refi my existing ASI car loan. read more
