Great sushi spot for family dinners. We all ordered bento boxes for lunch and green tea. The tea came in huge dragonfly mugs and after a standard amount of time the boxes came out. The tempura was crisp and delicious and the teriyaki beef was juicy! My salad didn't have any dressing, so it was bland, but it's just lettuce. My wife wanted sushi for an early Valentine lunch (two days before the 14th) and Yelp told me Ooi was located in our vicinity -- it was a good recommendation. We ordered the Sushi Special and the Combo Tempura and enjoyed both very much! They served fresh fish and a good variety of tempura items. This time around we ordered our sushi for pick up and when I arrived, I still had to wait about 10 minutes for it to be ready. Honestly, I'm totally fine with that. I'd rather know the sushi literally just left the chef knife rather than it's sitting around. I'm pretty basic when it comes to sushi. I ordered a caterpillar roll and the El Dorado roll. The caterpillar roll is crab meat, rolled in rice and topped with avocado and unagi sauce. Super basic, but delicious. I've never had the El Dorado roll before, but I loved it. This roll is huge and filled with soft shell crab, avocado, spicy minced tuna, and topped with ahi tuna on top. The ahi tuna had a firm texture and tasted very fresh. This was my favorite roll of the evening. This place is pretty tiny so if you plan to dine in, make sure to get here early for prime seating. Either in the dining room or at the sushi bar. Just belly up, sip a beer, and watch the chefs do their magic. read more

Ooi is our go to sushi place for Clovis! We're treated like family when we come and are always greeted warmly. The sushi rolls are huge with large portions of fish which makes it nice because you pay the same amount for a roll as some other sushi restaurants that are half the size, so the value seems great! They will also make special rolls for you if you have something in particular in mind, although their menu is extensive! My favorites are Lucky Dice, Hot Mama, Titanic, and Fresno. read more

This place has never disappointed me for sushi. But, just know, that the service isn't always the greatest. Today when I went, me and seven other people sit outside for 15 minutes waiting for the restaurant to open. The restaurant didn't open until we called and asked them to please open the door. Today my guests and I ordered the white dragon roll, and the avocado bomb. The white tiger roll had some perfectly cooked shrimp tempura on the inside and it's a generous size roll. The sauces are just OK here. Nothing really that special, but the sweet teriyaki sauce is always nice on top of a good roll. We also got the avocado bomb. Artificial crab, mayo, tempura crunchies, and avocado. It was incredibly delicious. There was no rice, so it was the perfect accompaniment to a sushi roll. All in all, this is one of my favorite places to go and grab some sushi. Price isn't that bad for the large portions. And every time I've visited the fish has always been fresh. read more

First time & last... The salmon was very "fishy" tasting. The salads were wilted from the other hot food in the containers. The pot stickers come in the combo but are packed in a separate container. They should put the pot stickers in the main container with the other hot food and pack the salad in the other container. Took 40 mins to get delivered once it was picked up, which only made it worse (cold food), yet we only live 8-10 minutes away. Same old fried rice that you'd get at a cheap Chinese restaurant. The pot stickers & orange chicken were decent. The food was mediocre at best. Usually, you'd get more when it's mediocre, but not here. BTW.... you're asking for people to post pics of the food and receive a $3 credit for each pic used. I was planning on taking you up on this offer, but once I opened the containers. I was embarrassed to take pics of what I saw. Rent and food cost are high now, so i hope that you take something from this and make some changes to prosper. read more

We ordered our dinner through DoorDash and overall I was impressed with the quality of the soup in our ramen and udon. The beef ramen came with half medium soft egg. Just the way I like it. The noodles were topped with slices of carrots, onions, and napa cabbage. The noodles were a little softer than I typically like, because they were sitting in the broth during transport. I think if they packaged it separately, it would have been 10/10. The beef broth had a slight kick to it and was delicious! The tofu ramen was prepared the same and the broth was super tasty as well. The california rolls were on point and the steak teriyaki dinner plate hit the spot! No fatty pieces. Just good ol' lean steak with a sweet savory sauce. Last item we ordered was the egg fried rice.
