Service was great, staff is very friendly and helpful. Sushi was okay I wish they cut my roll long ways into 6-8 pieces rather than 5 huge pieces.. I couldn't finish it and most of the filling ended up in my plate .. my daughter loved her kids meal. Everything was served well. Will go back again but won't be my first choice in sushi spots.

We're regulars at this place. Wednesday date night! The sushi is one of the best in clovis. Fresh! If you're in clovis you must try it. I've ran into people here that are trying it for the first time and say they will definitely come back. Turning newbies into regulars! =)

I love this place! My mom and I are regulars and we always get treated like family. The servers are awesome they remember our order every single time! They are attentive and always have a smile on their face. Caesar is also great and such a sweetheart. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The food is always on point and the vibe is very chill.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They play different kinds of music which I don't mind at all.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is our favorite sushi spot and we will continue to come here!!

I think I ordered the Central Valley Roll--definitely a bit on the pricier side, but wow, it was absolutely worth it! And can we talk about how beautifully it was presented, even in a takeout box?! Hopefully I have the opportunity to try some of their other rolls!

We came into Ooi on a whim during a craving for sushi. A must try is the crispy soft shell crab! We loved it so much we got a second order. The spicy miso soup paired perfectly with my jalapeno bomb appetizer. Sushi rolls were also delicious, my husband inhaled the lucky dice roll. Staff was friendly and prompt and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the restaurant was nice and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Five out five recommend Ooi

    Orange Blossom Roll.

Excellent service and excellent sushi, and we are picky! Prices were very fair. This roll tasted every bit as good as it looked! We loved our experience and can't wait to go back!

It's been years and this is still my go to sushi spot. I always know I am going to get solid, fresh and large portions. The staff are friendly and efficient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They've recent cleaned/changed decor and updated menus.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's not the fanciest place but that doesn't matter to me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I recommend Ooi to everyone!

The sushi here is decent, plus the location is amazing... It's literally across the street from my neighborhood! This time around we ordered our sushi for pick up and when I arrived, I still had to wait about 10 minutes for it to be ready. Honestly, I'm totally fine with that. I'd rather know the sushi literally just left the chef knife rather than it's sitting around. I'm pretty basic when it comes to sushi. I ordered a caterpillar roll and the El Dorado roll. The caterpillar roll is crab meat, rolled in rice and topped with avocado and unagi sauce. Super basic, but delicious. I've never had the El Dorado roll before, but I loved it. This roll is huge and filled with soft shell crab, avocado, spicy minced tuna, and topped with ahi tuna on top. The ahi tuna had a firm texture and tasted very fresh. This was my favorite roll of the evening. This place is pretty tiny so if you plan to dine in, make sure to get here early for prime seating. Either in the dining room or at the sushi bar. Just belly up, sip a beer, and watch the chefs do their magic.

Pictured here is the Caesar Roll. It's excellent!

I've been going to Ooi for years. I've enjoyed the sushi and the lunch combos very much. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you're look for great food, a friendly staff with an inviting atmosphere then look no further than Ooi Japanese cuisine.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Ooi is our go to sushi place for Clovis! We're treated like family when we come and are always greeted warmly. The sushi rolls are huge with large portions of fish which makes it nice because you pay the same amount for a roll as some other sushi restaurants that are half the size, so the value seems great! They will also make special rolls for you if you have something in particular in mind, although their menu is extensive! My favorites are Lucky Dice, Hot Mama, Titanic, and Fresno.

This place has never disappointed me for sushi. But, just know, that the service isn't always the greatest. Today when I went, me and seven other people sit outside for 15 minutes waiting for the restaurant to open. The restaurant didn't open until we called and asked them to please open the door. Today my guests and I ordered the white dragon roll, and the avocado bomb. The white tiger roll had some perfectly cooked shrimp tempura on the inside and it's a generous size roll. The sauces are just OK here. Nothing really that special, but the sweet teriyaki sauce is always nice on top of a good roll. We also got the avocado bomb. Artificial crab, mayo, tempura crunchies, and avocado. It was incredibly delicious. There was no rice, so it was the perfect accompaniment to a sushi roll. All in all, this is one of my favorite places to go and grab some sushi. Price isn't that bad for the large portions. And every time I've visited the fish has always been fresh.

    Lunch Box #2 Teriyaki Beef

Had the Lunch Box #2 Beef Teriyaki, it's absolutely delicious! Beef is soooo tender and teriyaki sauce is flavorful. Side salad and rice on point! And so is the tempura combo! Definitely recommend!

I got the f-23 orange blossom roll but theres so many rolls

One word of advice: if you're planning to join the waitlist, I recommend calling ahead for a more accurate wait time. The website initially showed no one ahead of us, but after joining the waitlist it indicated several parties were waiting. When we arrived, we were told the wait would be about 45 minutes, which wasn't ideal with a couple of hungry kids. Thankfully, we were seated within about 10 minutes. Our server, Patrick, was fantastic! He provided excellent customer service, took the time to explain the sushi rolls, helped us navigate the kids' menu, and was attentive throughout our meal. Patrick, thank you for helping make my mom's birthday dinner so memorable. Khasey was our chef, and the food was absolutely delicious. He made sure we had every sauce we asked for. The teppanyaki experience for the children was engaging and fun. To top it off, the staff brought out a cute birthday dessert and sang a birthday tune for my mom, which made the celebration even more special. The location is another huge plus. It's situated in a great area near Fresno State with plenty to do before or after dinner, including ice cream shops, boba spots, VR gaming, and movie theaters. Overall, we had a great experience and can't wait to come back!

Great tasting ramen!…read more My family and I made this place a pit-stop for dinner on a Sacramento to Los Angeles trip. Our original target was the Fresno location, but due to a GPS entry error, we ended up at their Clovis location! It was a little longer drive than usual, but still well-worth the drive. And besides, we were on a family long weekend break so who cares about distance... Our orders were quickly taken on the counter and we were off to find our table. A lot of places to choose from inside and outside seating was also available. And the place was nicely decorated and well-lit! Feels comfortable to dine inside! The menu was quite expansive. And you even have the choice of minor changes to the regular menu. I ordered an Oxtail Ramen...a first of this kind for me, so I just had to have it. And it passed with flying colors! Weird ingredient...but absolutely tasty! And at a really affordable price range! You just have to try our this place when you're in the area! You will love it!

Good amount of tables and seats. Simple, minimal decor and it was clean, from what I can remember. He got the Shoyu Ramen (#2) and I got the Spicy Miso Ramen (#4). We both agreed the broth wasn't as hot as we'd like and could use just a touch more flavor. Both were okay, but I preferred my broth more. I wish I paid attention to the fact that mine came with THIN noods though... I feel like I would've enjoyed my dish way more with thick noodles. To be honest, I should have done the build-your-own Ramen and selected everything I wanted myself... now I know. You live and you learn. The Wontons were good but we didn't eat much of it, as it came out the same time as the ramen. Once the ramen was served, our main focus was on that and that filled us up! Packed the rest to go. For this being our first time, it wasn't bad but it didn't wow us. If I'm being honest, so far-- the best Ramen we've ever had was in a small little shop we found while in Thailand back in March (yup, Thailand!). Unfair to this rating maybe? But-- every ramen I try will be compared to that now (sorry, it was THAT good). Until next time, which there will be a next time (just unsure how soon that will be)... they get a middle placement.

Service/ ambiance: Came here on a Thursday around 8 to be greeted by a 45min. Wait--we stuck around. The place was super packed, and because the windows had the blinds down with art work; it felt a bit claustrophobic and overwhelming. We got an alert that our table was ready and checked-in. The hostess then left us, and waved us down to signal where we were sitting (they could've told us to follow them lol) The waitress was nice, but seemed a bit scattered. Automatically asked what we wanted, but we had never been here before, so wasn't sure how it all worked (they never explained). The walls of our booth were littered with scrape marks and chipped paint. The booth had no cushion whatsoever, making it extremely difficult to get comfortable (ok...there's a cushion, but it's flat). The table was the most annoying part. No matter if you scoot it more towards you or the other side there still so much space. I'm basically sitting at the edge of my seat trying to eat because of the distance--if you're a bit heftier on the stomach--it's perfect. (Random observation: the bathroom looks nice, but not well kept. There's graffiti and cravings all over, which makes me think I'm in the bathroom of a dive bar) Food: As I mentioned I was craving sushi--their selection was lack luster. Almost everything had the same ingredients. The salmon sashimi looked pale and had no color. There were some pieces that were sliced so thin you could basically see through it. I ordered two rolls for my daughter (crazy roll & snow mountain)--both were lacking flavor. The presentation for them was as if they didn't care or even try? Every time I picked one up it would fall apart. The Hibachi steak was cold and dry. Shot ribs were just lathered in sauce (not my preference), and mostly came with little meat and all bone. I'd only come back if the majority of people I'm with want to go, but I wouldn't suggest it myself. The service felt rushed. Food could have been presented/ prepared better. Space could've opened easily by letting us see out the windows and not feel so packed like a can of sardines, and could definitely use some touch up paint and better cushions. It could've been an off night, but this is what I experienced.

Whether you're craving sushi, teriyaki, or ramen, they really have something for everyone. The 14-piece sashimi platter with a couple of rolls was more than enough for two people, and everything was excellent quality. The ramen is also fantastic, but fair warning: the bowls are HUGE, so definitely come hungry. Their garlic edamame is absolutely addictive, and we really enjoyed the poke in the seaweed poke salad, though the dish does lean very heavily on the seaweed, so just keep that in mind before ordering. So when my son asked us to meet him, his lovely wife and our 3 granddaughters for dinner on a recent visit I didn't have my hopes up. I was immediate greeted by the two Sushi chefs behind the counter as I walked in. Not long after, the host greeted me and handed me a menu for me to select my order to go. I considered a poke bowl, however, their sauces were pretty standard. So instead I opted for their seaweed salad that came with a number of protein including tuna, edamame, shrimp, avocado, and masago. It was $19, so it wasn't necessarily inexpensive, however I figured a poke bowl with a couple proteins would run me right about there as well. The sushi chef got right away to work preparing my meal and I was in and out within 5 minutes. When I got home, I opened up my box and was a little underwhelmed with the presentation. The protein is cut up into small pieces and mixed in with the seaweed salad. In addition it is not pure seaweed as it is also mixed in with a bunch of other greens such as sprouts. So while the presentation was not what I was expecting, I was pleasantly surprised that I really enjoyed the flavors and textures. I will definitely order this again.
