I hired this company to inspect a home that I purchased for my elderly grandmother. The report was…read morerather generic, essentially telling me to hire a certified repairman for everything. What's the point of paying over $500 for an inspection, if I need to hire other individuals to let me know if something is defective. Long story short, the inspector didn't even check to see if the water heater was operable, or even if the water in the house got hot. My grandmother moved in and the water heater didn't work at all. We immediately had to purchase a water heater for a home that we had just purchased. It's clear to me, once I received photos of the water heater, that's it was in disrepair. He was very responsive when we reached out, but it's a matter of finger pointing. There are real estate professionals for a reason and it's so the consumer is safeguarded from things like this.
