Breathtakingly beautiful it feels majestic with its chandeliers, wooden paneling and array of paintings on the walls. Should not be missed! I believe it's a venue which can be hired for special occasions, events and weddings. Queen's itself has beautiful Tudor Gothic architecture that is lovely to walk around. Home to the Naughton Gallery and Queen's Film Theatre and right beside beautiful Botanic Gardens. Visitor tours can be arranged which provide a history of the university - well worth a visit.

I know that Jordanstown students regularly used this library in exam times which shows the superior quality of this library! The facilities here are top notch. The book collection is extensive for every subject, with friendly and helpful staff being able to assist you in ordering any journals or documents you need. Set over four floors, there are ample computers and seating facilities for students and associate members. People see this as a place only for students, but that i not the case, and a membership here for older members would be very worthwhile. The library is totally clean and with a lot of open spaces it is a very inspiring place to learn. Unfortunately the open spaces are a hindrance when it comes to exam time as things can get very noisy when the library is brimming with people, so I advice getting in early to get a good place and brining earphones to help drown out any noise! The library has a cafe and eating area attached so there is ample opportunity for getting your food fix here! The library is fantastic, so don't listen to anyone who tells you that the facilities here are nothing less than the best around. I feel I should sign off with some useful information. To use the wifi here you need to download a program to your library off the QUB site, ask assistants if you can't find it! Also if you want phone reception head to the third floor, as the rest is a no go zone for phone signal!

Astonished that as an English student I never quite managed to write a review on this place…read more Though my love-affair with one of the most stunning libraries in this country has been as temperamental as a hormonal teenage girl who has just been told she has to go visit her Great-Aunt while all of her friends go to a VIP gig with Tine Tempah. It started off with a WOW! LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THIS BUILDING! THERE'S BOOKS AND TOILETS AND LIFTS AND EVERYTHING! It then fell apart slightly when I actually tried to do some work. There seemed to be a herd of cattle that ran through the library whenever you wanted some peace and quiet, thus my love affair began to wane. I couldn't seem to get some quiet time that wasn't at half 8 in the morning or 9 o'clock at night. But then I discovered the Narnia room which changed everything because it was so quiet! But then so did everyone else, so Brian became so angry he wrote in the third person, so he did. There are quite a lot of things going for this library, but unlike the Old Library Tower which I used to frequent, you never have enough time to sit and do some work. You could be typing away in peace and quiet and then in the space of two minutes, some hammered wee tramp from Antrim comes in with her American friend and have the loudest chat that even Chaka Kahn turned up to the maximum on my generic MP3 player couldn't drown out. I then discovered another part of Queen's which doesn't have too many tramps or loud people for which this review will not mention, just for my own sanity. Like I said, it is a stunning building and as far as something to look at goes, it sure is impressive. But as far as somewhere that is supposed to operate as a library, it doesn't quite fulfil all of its requirements.

It's full of beautiful gothic arches and is bright and filled with light. Lots of student meeting rooms and computers with comfy chairs. It's a breathtakingly beautiful building - makes me wish I was a student again!

For a few months I came here to attend a cookery course. It's surprising to think that there are…read moresubstantial and well equipped kitchens turning out good food high up in this 60s block, but there are, along with excellent staff. Other courses run here include languages, TEFL, business studies and marketing etc. The Brunswick site is a good central location accessible to people travelling in from all directions but it will all change next year when all the courses are transferred to a new building in the Titanic Quarter. The new campus promises to be state of the art but thanks to educational cuts the number of places may be limited so if you are interested in studying it's advisable to apply early to ensure you get your slot.

This building is part of BMC (formerly BIFHE) and was known, many moons ago, as The College of Business Studies a.k.a. the college of biz.This building would have all the GNVQ and Higher National Diploma courses in business, many of which can serve as a bridge to the second year of a degree in the University of Ulster, as well as being a qualification in their own right. There's a whole range of courses on offer here, and they have a lot of catering courses as well. They also do a lot of part-time courses and Saturday courses, from web design courses to language courses, and photography to cake decorating. Most of the part-time courses are relatively inexpensive, with some as low as around £40. Check out their website and prospectus for upcoming courses

I know it more as a venue to see shows in (in thier performance space) and also to attend training days in connection with work. The room they gave us was spacious, bright and well ventilated, especially considering it was a very muggy day, and there was an abundance of coffee and tea available, as well as some nice biscuits - the lunch in the refectory was lovely actually - quite surprising. There was a choice of roast chicken or lasagne, with lots of side dishes and salad extras, and a selection of apple pie and custard or chocolate mousse for desert - all paid for by those running the course - so we were happy campers.

Girls sports is maybe not the strongest in the older years though it appears to be improving. Principals here are always pretentious and often refer to the pupils as 'the cream of Belfast'. the 6th form centre is crampt but the school is currently being rebuilt so hopefully this will be greatly improved. the completion date is still unknownsupposedly it was 'meant' to be finished this year but really building has only just started and is a pain for pupils trying to concentrate as its quite noisy in classrooms close to the construction site. The majority of teachers are excellent and teach to a very high standard, and as much as I dislike the upcoming system and changes to education I would recommend this school to prospective students.

The Open University is a wonderful worldwide institution and I am a massive fan of all types of…read moreeducation. I just graduated in May from The Open University with a first class honours degree in Psychology - I had an absolutely wonderful experience and was able to fit in my job with my studies. I think I attended 3 classes and the rest I did at home - if you are self motivated and driven this could be the type of course for you. Three years of hard work on my part and immense resources and back up if I needed it. I was incredibly proud to collect my degree back in May and to be a representative of the massive OU community. The Belfast branch have been particularly supportive both during my studies and since I have graduated.

Things have changed though and now distance learning is slowly what universities are increasingly moving towards. I really don't have an issue with it, most of my degree as with many academic subjects are done by the student, facilitated by Power Point slides and a whack of PDFs too. The Open Uni has a wide range of courses ranging from law orientated to languages right through to fully accredited masters courses. It's the sort of thing I would probably do down the line if I wanted further education.
