I never thought I'd be in a position to need assistance from anyone but I found myself without a job unexpectedly. I had no idea of what to do or where to turn. Being a veteran, it was suggested that I call Sacred Trust, and I'm glad that I did. I was greeted by most amazing individuals that made my problems seem to disappear. From the receptionist, the director, and of course my caseworker Megan (who's simply and angel). Sacred Trust helped me to solve my immediate problems, that relieved stress. I am sure others are very happy with the services they have received from this organization but , when it comes to me , a dog would have received better......My sad tale began when I became homeless due to the son of a woman I had been living with for 10 years who moved in with us and refused to move out. One day the situation became volatile and to avoid any big problems, I moved out and seemed shelter at the Salvation Army. While there, on or around July 2014, one of their case managers introduced me to Sacred trust for what I believed was going to be a blessing.....C O L (crying out loud) . On August 25th 2014, I moved in Apt 502 inside a building called Amistad (friendship) located at 571 SW 9th St, Miami, Fl. It was a very nice Apt and I was happy. In the meantime, mother and son started having difficulties and against the advice of a good friend , I gave in and accepted her request to allow her to move in. We had always gotten along very well before the 30 year old SOB came into the picture.Her name was added to the lease and all was going well until the male manager of the building made a sexual advance towards me and I turned him down. I did not realize how serious things were about to change until it was too late. Somewhere around Sept, my wife's attitude started to change in a way I just could not figure out and we seemed to do nothing but argue all the time. She left the house on a Monday morning to go to work and never came back home.She worked as a house cleaner for a rich woman, Tracy Torano in North Miami and sometimes she would spend the night over there.The next day, I kept calling her but she never replied.I finally received a call on Wednesday when she advised me that she had suffered a small stroke on the bus on Monday on her way to work and she would be home soon.I offered to go pick her up but she refused so I continued on with my daily routine. My calls once more went unanswered all day Thursday and Friday.While in the kitchen Friday evening around 8 pm about to prepare some food, I heard a knock on the door. Thinking that it was someone from management who had brought up some papers, I ignored the knock thinking that whoever it was would slide them under the door. Never did I expect to see two police officers come charging at me with their guns drawn and my wife standing behind them with a big smile on her face.With the guidance of the building manager, a high profile woman from Sacred trust whose name I can't remember, Tracy Torano and others she had gone to the police department and said that I had physically assaulted her and had me arrested.At trial,the police officers admitted to never having taken any pictures nor having observed any bruises.Yet, I was thrown in jail where I languished for 4 days. Through a little miracle, I was released alive early Tuesday morning at N W 12th Ave across the street from Jackson Memorial. Since it was around 2 am, I had to walk what seemed like an eternity to the location on S W 9th St. When I finally arrived, I tried my key on the lobby door and it would not work.As my heart was sinking down to my stomach, the security guard came over to let me know that I had gotten evicted while I was in jail......There is not enough space in here to list all the different hells I went through in order to get to where I am today. I'll only note that the wife never got to keep the Apt. They tricked her into doing what they wanted her to do and kicked her out in less than a week after me. Now, it's almost 6 years later and I am facing another housing crisis. Hoping that after six years the woman who was my main persecutor was no longer working there, I went back to Sacred trust on June 24th of this year to get my feelings hurt once more.All communications have taken place over the phone due to the pandemic. Every time, I start to think that everything is about to come together and all the papers that I have faxed over have been received, the person I was in touch with just falls off the face of the earth and I am left wondering why a Veteran of the military is being discriminated against by people who have taken a Sacred oath to never do that. No matter how many times, I have explained the injustice I suffered in 2015, nobody wants to listen except for Farrah. She truly wants to help me but is being told not to by her manager. Every time I threaten to take some action, they would give her permission to call me with another false promise of help only to disappear again the next day. The only document she is missing to complete my file is the letter from Social security verifying my income. Today is Tuesday and the last time she answered one of my emails was last Thursday. The only thing I can think of that makes sense is that although that mean old lady is no longer working for the company, someone else from 2014 is still there and communicating with her that I am trying to get help again. read more
