This is favorite club in Denver. I was told by many friends that I must check this club out. So, I was in town for Slick Rick and a band that does cover music for Grateful Dead. The building has a cool back story and it's very well decorated. I love the back wall of old radios and Walkmans! I saw a yellow Walkman that I once owned. The owner, Matt is pretty dope, and does a real good job in running the club. The restaurant has delicious bites, the Waygu burger is my favorite, and their Flatbread pizza. I wish i was in town to see Judith Hill and Mahalia. If only Denver was just a hop skip n jump for me, I would be here in a heartbeat. I will come back for their brunch. If your looking for a nice club, check this one our. Check out their page for upcoming events, :D

My sister and I love to take people here when they are in town visiting! The atmosphere is incredible, however a bit loud especially when a live band is playing but SO worth it for the vibes. The service has always been great and the waiters know the menu well. The food is delicious!!

Food: I was throughly impressed with the quality and care of each item we got. Everything was packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and perfectly seasoned. (1) Plantains: to say these were packed with flavor is an understatement. The plantains themselves were sweet and perfectly ripe. Tpphe sauces and fixings around it made this dish 10/10 (2) Cheese curds / fried pickles: Um why is this combo not required at all times? My two favorite loves! The pickles are, rightfully, chip pickles. The cheese curbs have cheddar in them. Bursting with flavor and deliciousness. Exactly how you want both items to be delivered. (3) Wagyu Smashburger: In my opinion, the toppings are perfection. Not too much, just the right stuff. The sautéed onions were drool worthy and the smashed patties couldn't get any more smashed. 10/10! We also subbed the fries for the brussels sprouts and wow are we glad we did! Bursting with flavor my partner said, "I think these are the best brussels sprouts I've ever had". Some shishito peppers snuck in (beautiful match btw) and the sauce and fixing on these made it pop. All the drinks were delicious too. Perfectly balanced but also different. Really impressive! Service: Pretty good. I would have liked a bit more attention but it worked out just fine. Ambience: Can you beat sitting on the banister of a concert venue? This place is so fun and hip. Such a cool vibe even if live music isn't playing at that time.

The themed weekend brunches at Ophelia's are simply unbeatable, and the live DJ adds so much energy! I just attended the "Is There Brunch On Mars? The Bowie Brunch" and WOW - it was incredible! The vibe, the amazing tunes, the lively atmosphere, the delicious food, and the creative cocktails completely blew me away. If you haven't been yet, check out their calendar and pick a date--you won't regret it! Here's what I indulged in: Food Highlights Brunch Monty: Maple French Toast, Blueberry Jelly, Shaved Ham, Pepper Jack Cheese, Bacon, Powdered Sugar, and an Over Easy Egg. The perfect fusion of sweet and savory! Hangover Fries: Wavy Potatoes with Queso, Buttermilk Chicken, Red Onion, Scallions, and BBQ Sauce--loaded fries heaven! Benedict Pizza (MY FAVORITE!): Shaved Ham, Poached Egg, Mozzarella, Hollandaise, Garlic Chili Oil, Scallions--Hollandaise on pizza is genius! Denver Skillet: Ham, Potatoes, Green Chile, Onion, Cheddar, Eggs Your Way, Scallions--a Mile High City classic. Drink Highlights Classic & Blood Orange Mimosa Espresso Martini: A perfect blend of TFJ Vodka, Kamora, Espresso, and Cinnamon--highly recommend! Lady in Red: A stunning mix of Hibiscus-Infused Rum, Campari, Passionfruit Honey, Citrus, and Cinnamon--a newly added favorite! If you're in Denver, Ophelia's is THE place to be for a one-of-a-kind brunch experience. Can't wait to go back and see what other themes they have in store!

We went for their "champagne problems" Taylor swift themed brunch. While I was disappointed in their effort on that part - they had a DJ who looked like he didn't want to be there, nothing interactive for the crowd, her movie playing on the big screen and her music blaring through the place, I reallllly enjoyed the food so that's why it's getting 4 stars. The service was subpar - the waiter remedy like he gave minimal effort despite it not being packed. My friends got the avocado toast, the brunchwtap supreme and I got the breakfast pizza. The crust was amazing and delicious and the combination of prosciutto egg and cheese/hollandaise was fantastic! i really enjoyed it!! both my friends said their dishes were delicious as well. We each had one cocktail. we were sat on the bottom floor which had plenty of open space for dancing or more tables. had the DJ been doing ANYTHING interactive, i would have gotten up and danced. seemed like a half baked idea to get people in the door.

While in Denver, we had Sunday brunch at Ophelia's. Great service from start to finish, and upbeat music playing along to a video screen showing old MTV music video's. How fun!! For brunch, my husband had the breakfast pizza and I had the chicken biscuit smothered in a delicious gravy. We always try to find unique places to dine when we visit other towns and Ophelia's checked that box for us.

My wife and I attended a great concert there last night. "Mia X Alley" and we loved it. The concert was fabulous and the venue was first rate. Aside from being in the heart of Lodo, a place I despise and avoid whenever possible, it all worked out well. Parking was easy enough with a dozen paid parking garages and lots within easy walking distance. The venue itself is easy to find, clean and set up quite well. The door staff were nice and bartenders were friendly and easy to deal with. The drinks were reasonably priced and not watered down. This is a great place to watch a concert from several different levels. We would not hesitate to watch another concert here.

Steakhouse - Creamed Kale, Green Beans, Bison and Green Chile Cornbread
    Annie L.

Ordered Ophelia's Steakhouse. Bison was cooked well but a little too salty. Meat was very lean! Green beans okay and creamed kale good, but also a bit tangy. Chimichurri has great lime flavor. The corn bread was good with the butter but not the jelly. Weird taste and better without the jelly. Had seating at the counters and service was terrible!! Extremely slow!! Took 1 hour from seating to get the food.

God this place is awesome....and I had no idea. My kids took me out for HH here and it was so much fun and the food and drinks so great. First off huge shout out to Chris and DD our amazing bartenders. We arrived right after happy hour ended ( like one minute) and Chris let us order off the HH menu....that was so huge and kind. Many thanks. So if you don't have tickets ( like we did not) you can sit at the bar. The night we went it was Burlesque ( the performer was stunning coming into the venue...just saying). The bar was great and we ordered a ton of appetizers and cocktails. There was not a single bad dish or cocktail. Loved the Waygu sliders, fun-guy flatbread. Amazing and creative desserts. My only small quibble was the plastic tumblers the libations were served in. I love glass man....and I promise not to throw it at any one....pinky swear. Seriously just go. You will have an amazing time....and if you dont I'll pay for your bill ( yeah right). Amazing place that we will be back for sure.

Ophelia's is a great spot to catch a concert. The small venue allows you to be up close with the performers, yet big enough to give a concert feeling. We saw the Dresden dolls and shelled out the extra money for table seats. The seats are on the second level but still have a good view of the stage, and they do pair you with other people to fill the venue. (In our case our booth held 6) They do offer food, but we did not eat. They do have some creative cocktails though. Which are very fairly priced. The service could have been better with long wait times between check in's my drink went dry a couple of times. Though our server was very friendly. TL:DR - Great intimate venue to watch your favorite band

    Brothel Burger

I love going to unique restaurants and this is one of them. From the layout of the restaurant to the decor, it's different. My group ordered the Brussel sprouts, brothel burger, mushroom pizza, and picnic platter. Each dish was wonderful - full of flavor and a joy to eat. We came during happy hour and the drinks were strong and affordable. All of my friends enjoyed all the drinks on the happy hour menu. The service was amazing. We came here around 5PM reservation. It was not busy but it is recommended to make reservations. Even though it was not busy, there was already a 7PM reservation on the list that would be seated at our table after us. The host told us if we wanted to stay when the next reservation arrive, they would find us a different spot at another table or bar. I loved the open communication. I suggest street parking around the area. It's cheaper. The lot next to the restaurant have a history of giving people tickets if they leave one minute after their parking ticket expired. I researched the parking lot on google and the reviews were horrible. Just a heads up! This restaurant is also located to next to a hostel :)

Crispy Togarishi Brussels Sprouts and The Classic Benedict Pizza

The pizza in this pic is so good that I found myself oscillating between Gate Keeping and Telling the World, finally settling on *PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW*. Ophelia's has awesome food. Everyone knows this. The whole damn LOVER restaurant group smacks, so yeah, I'm not breaking any news here. But ayeeeee, this Classic Benedict Pizza on their brunch menu is next fcking level. The dough is apparently from 200yr old sourdough starter, and the combination of toppings (jammy egg, mozz cheese, hollandaise aioli)--- chef's kiss. Soooo yeah, *run don't walk *to Ophelia's for brunch, you will NOT be disappointed.

I had no idea what to expect when my boyfriend told me about this restaurant. He explained it pretty well but still, I think one cannot truly understand until you get there. Like every other time I visit a new restaurant I scoped out the menu prior to visiting to make sure I had an idea of what I wanted to eat. My indecisiveness fully shines when menus are expansive and they all seem great. The wonderful thing about their food menu is that they seem to focus on a handful of items which makes me feel that they must be great dishes. What made brunch even better is my bestie Amy, from all the way back home in Hawai'i, was visiting her college bestie Elyse in Denver the same time we were visiting Colorado, so we invited them to join us for brunch! I love that it worked out AND we may not have found this place if it wasn't for my boyfriend having visited this restaurant years ago. We each studied the menu and had an idea of what we wanted when the waiter came over. I ordered the plantains foster french toast skillet, which came sizzling and delicious of course. I also had a side of over easy eggs and bacon. My boyfriend had the Ropa Vieja Hash and we also ordered the Crispy Togarashi Brussels Sprouts. Everything was delicious. The music was great as well. I loved that the seating of the restaurant was as if you're in an auditorium, because you are watching a show while you're eating. A great concept and fun too! We truly enjoyed ourselves, chatting, eating, and enjoying great music and food. I can't even remember what the band's name was that was playing but they sounded great. I look forward to coming back here for another show sometime in the future.

Ophelia's Electric Soapbox Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Ophelia's Electric Soapbox

Should we go for brunch or late night on a Sunday?

My experience was brunch and it was FABULOUS! I'd recommend brunch since that was our thing last time. You will not be disappointed. ♥️

How is 80s night? Are people dancing or just sitting/eating/listening?

Some are dancing where they stand. And some sitting and listening. I think some danced on floor but it's a small space.

When do the shows typically start?

Whatever is posted, just count on it being 2 hours later. Of course, we were there on Halloween, so not sure if that had any bearing.

How loud is it before a show? Want to have a conversation over drinks and apps and not sure what the atmosphere will be like tonight preShow.

It is bar loud, but not concert loud. You can hear your conversations in your party if you are actively listening.

Is there always live music playing?

No. Those are scheduled. But, there is always music playing.

Can we bring our baby in at brunch, or is it 21+ only?

    Of course you can!!

We loved the ambiance, feeling like we'd really discovered a gem off the beaten track, pun intended. The lights were still on, so we didn't realize our mistake, until they'd already invited us in to exchange our monthly growler with such warmth. Super nice people, reflecting the vibe we always felt on our other visits. The staff echoes that disposition, always friendly and knowledgeable. Though the winery isn't on-site, I've always been impressed with their tasting experience. I've now been a member for over 5 years, going in at least once a month, and they still suggest trying seasonal options and have broadened my palette... It's illegal to vape in public places, but they don't seem to care. They had signs on the door saying THC products had to be taken to a grassy area across the parking lot, but it wasn't enforced, and that would still be illegal because it is illegal to use smoke or vape THC in any public or open space. The second hand vape was as bad or worse than any second hand smoke I have experienced. I left with a headache, sore throat, and feeling poorly. The jam session was also disappointing. The house band played from 7 to 8:10, took a break, and then came back and played another song. It was 8:25 before anyone was invited to join. The jam was advertised to go to 9 so it wasn't much of a jam opportunity. Also, the they decided to squeeze the band into a little spot in the walkway that was in the middle of all the vaping. People walking by had to be careful not to bump the horn players, and the horn players had to move to avoid being hit by them as they were playing. This was unnecessary because they have a big room with chairs, guitars on the wall, etc available in the back of the place that appeared to be setup for the jam. It made no sense and created a terrible jam environment.

The few things that I think could use improvement are the tacos. I've had Taco Tuesday there maybe 4 times and unfortunately realized that the tacos are pretty oily and unless getting a non-sauce inclusive taco it's going to likely be oily. The fusion of Filipino into the tacos is a nice gesture but honestly did not do it that much for me, I ultimately like their classic types of tacos and not really the fancy/unique ones they sell. My friend also got a burrito at one point and it was dripping oil. The drinks also tend to be on the weak side and after having three cocktails there over a single meal I didn't really feel much of anything. The service and ambiance of the place is great and the owner really cares about the customers but the parking lot sucks lol, I'll continue to visit this spot for the items that I feel are good but haven't really been out for Taco Tuesday in a while.

Not a big deal, I was just thinking not everyone wants a whole and if someone is extra hungry they can take two halves. Just thought it would make things a tad easier. They tell me no. They can't/won't cut in half. Ok, whatever. I don't understand what the big deal is, they obviously posses knives... just cut them instead of saying "no". So stupid. 20ish Minutes after waiting, the person who took my order said it would be 30 minutes to make. Which was weird cause what was going on for the last 20 minutes? 30 minutes to wait is fine, if you don't waste the 20 mins prior resulting in about an hour wait. So, I declined as now we are talking an hour to get 20 simple breakfast burritos. I needed to get to work and I wasn't wanting to wait an entire hour and they just wasted 20 minutes of my time not prepping anything, so I decided not to go with the burritos. Someone came to refund my sale and then preceded to kind of scold me for not ordering in advance. He said something about for an order like 20 burritos they want 2 days heads up. GTF outta here. It's freaking burritos. You don't need 2 days to make 20 burritos. And here's the thing, I'm not here for a lecture because I attempted to give YOU business. And I won't be back, either. When you get a customer to purchase your goods, be happy. Provide them the goods. Make it as soon as you can. Don't say no for no reason. Don't make anyone feel bad for trying to give you business. It would have been SOOOOO simple to make the burritos and quick run the knife through them. But, no, the choice was to do nothing for almost a half hour, to refuse to run a knife through them as asked, and then lecture a customer for coming in to order 20 items. It's not like I asked for 100. What if 10 customers came in and each ordered 2? Can you do that? Do they get lectured, too, or...? See ya.

The temperature was absolutely arctic. Multiple groups had to ask for their coats from coat check before one of the waitstaff said he looked at the heating. He made adjustments, which did increase the temperature of the room from arctic to chilly--but it remained unacceptably cold. Pacing of courses was oddly timed. The waitstaff couldn't seem to strike a good balance between casual and fine dining--it was a little awkward at times. The Bad: Despite placing our wine flight orders twice, with two different waitstaff, they forgot to give us our drinks until we asked. By then, we'd missed two of the pairings. They did offer to serve us the remaining pairings at no cost, which was a nice gesture. But, it's wild that something like this happened in a place with 16 seats and 4 waitstaff--they missed out on $400 in alcohol sales because of this error. The meal was explained to our group as a "ten course" experience. We only received nine courses: 1. The venison "hamburger" 2. Cappuccino 3. Roasted apple 4. Crudo/sashimi 5. Scallop 6. Lobster 7. Venison skewer 8. Duck leg 9. Dessert This feels like an egregious oversight. And, based on what we overheard from the table next to us--almost felt deliberately misleading. The wine pairing is plainly described in the menu as "five pairings." As dessert was brought out, the table next to us inquired about the remaining pairings, as they'd only received 4 pairings up to that point. The waitstaff tried blaming it on the fact that "dessert wine is polarizing" and "we over poured the other pairings," but those are weak excuses. If you're not going to offer the full 5 pairing flight as advertised, that needs to be communicated ahead of time. Overall: With a price point, including wine flight (had that worked out), per person of nearly $325--The Guest had too many substantial misses. While the food may be ready for prime time, the service is leagues behind.

The Guest, located inside The Regular, is a full dining experience rather than a traditional…read morerestaurant, and it's a strong addition to the Denver food scene. This is a timed, coursed dinner where the entire room sits and eats together, so arriving on time is essential. The format creates a restaurant wide dinner party feel, which sets the tone for the night. Everything feels intentional, from the pacing to the service to the design of the space. The menu changes often and is never repeated, which makes the experience feel special and creative rather than formulaic. Standout dishes for me included the duck doughnut, the wood ear French toast, the venison burger, and the leek cappuccino. The kanpachi crudo and scallop with tamarind were also beautifully balanced, and desserts like Cash's Apple and The Sphere were thoughtful finishes rather than an afterthought. One of the more memorable details was the menu book at the end of the night, featuring the chef's original sketches of the dishes. It's a small touch that really reinforces how personal and considered the experience is. If you're looking for a unique, chef driven tasting experience that feels cohesive and well executed, this is absolutely worth a reservation.
