Gave my eyes a good thorough examination and found out that I have some tearing at my retina, now going to refer me to a specialist possibly for laser surgery to hopefully repair and prevent any future damage. very good opticians, lots of frames to choose from and accurate fitting. For me, being somewhat contrary and choosy, big and obvious isn't usually my first choice but this time the task on hand was to arrange for my daughter to get contact lenses ASAP and going to Mackeys seemed to be the easiest way of getting the job done. In the event an appointment was arranged quite quickly, almost within a week. This was commendable because I often find that that getting an appointment with an optician can involve a long wait. As it turned out the lenses were fitted easily without any fuss. A pair of contact lenses was provided on trial to see if they were suitable and once that was ok everything was quickly sorted out. Since then I've been a perfectly satisfied customer of Mackeys. I haven't used them for getting glasses yet but they seem to have a good a range as anywhere so I wouldn't hesitate to do so if the need arises.

He didn't bat an eyelid when my other child moaned incessantly during the older one's eye test in that brain piercing manner that only small kids can do. Halls have a great range of glasses for kids - nothing like the horrors I remember from my school days and you can get styles which are fully paid for by the NHS or splash out a few pounds extra on a designer pair. Who knew a six year old could get Timberland glasses. I managed to scan the adults frames too and was totally impressed by the sunglasses. Is it rude to actually drool over a pair of Cavallis? The only way to solve this debate is a good old fashioned shoot out: Optomise is a well established family business with a lot of experience. Sure you may say that Specsavers for instance employ experience staff but do they greet you by your first name when you walk into the shop? Optomise have further enhanced their services by introducing house calls to elderly and vulnerable people to their list of attributes. They offer a good choice of frames and a competitive price depending your prescription. They will also work around the customers schedule and make an appointment that is convenient for you rather than the big brand policy of fitting you in when it suits them. So there we have it, after an intriguing match up between big brand opticians and Optomise, it appears that Optomise have come out on top with a resounding 5 star to nil victory. Optomise are sure to stay top of the optician league for a long time to come. I know what your thinking, and no the refree does not need glasses.

She is a staunch wearer of contacts as she feels self conscious with glasses on, but I wanted her to feel good with some on so she could have some when her eyes get sore! Well not only did she end up with one pair, but two! The store has permanent great value offers like BOGOF and buys 2 pairs for a certain price. The staff are very helpful at picking out different glasses to suit different face shapes and hair colours, and were really good with my girlfriend. The glasses here are very competitively priced and there is an excellent range of products for all ages. They also offer good after care here so eye ex-spec-t you to get your retinas well looked after here!

They told me my glasses should do me for another 2 years which also made me glad. I can trust them to be honest and not just try to get me to update my glasses for no good reason. I called in on one of their late night openings to get my glasses repaired. To my surprise they did this free of charge as they had a spare spring. Specsavers staff are friendly and very helpful

Maybe you have to wait a while to be served, but that's true of most city centre places, right? The opticians are always super helpful, most recently when I've been having trouble with dry eyes. They were able to diagnose me pretty quickly and get me sorted out with a solution. I don't know that I'd ever be brave enough to buy my glasses online, so as long as Specsavers remain the cheapest on the high street, that's where I'll be going!
