Brian Pullen and his team did a fantastic job replacing the tile in my family's kitchen and bathroom. We had called them in to assess some cracking we were observing in the tiles and they were able to help diagnose the issues. While performing demolition for the replacement tiles, they found more problems than we expected. Both our bathroom and kitchen had water damage issues lurking under the tile, and a tricky foundation that was not up to code. What I really appreciated about the Opulent House team was their honesty and directness when communicating the bad news and their willingness to go above and beyond in fixing these problems. It is quite uncommon to find a team who is this genuine. It felt like their service wasn't just about the money - it felt like it was about meeting our needs. They also helped investigate a few other issues related to foundation issues and external pipe insulation problems, they did not have to do this - it wasn't in the original estimate, but they empathized with our situation and were able to fix these problems as well. They even helped us install some wainscoting into our bathroom during the repairs, which was also not part of the original estimate, but was a nice addition they were willing to provide for us. Their work ethic was excellent, they were flexible with the work that was done, the price was very reasonable for the amount of extra work that ended up being done, and they were very respectful towards myself and my family throughout the whole process. This is not the first time Opulent House has done work for us either. We've had them do a smaller water damage repair job in another room in our house a couple of years prior to this larger job that has held up very well. This was the reason we called the team for this job, because we knew they were reliable - and they've proven us right again, this time with a much larger challenge. My vision was a backyard makeover with a new hot tub. Hot Springs Spas of Music City in Lebanon referred me to Brian as a trusted partner to help me with my hot tub install. From my first call with Brian I can truly say he's in the top 1% in his trade. He and his team are a rare find these days: Professional, punctual, responsive, consultative, high quality, creative, collaborative, trustworthy, and friendly. He sourced a terrific company who helped me design and pour huge stamped concreate patio; the electrician who wired the new hot tub and extra plugs; and consulted on a privacy fence for the hot tub. He oversaw every step of his contractors' work and kept me informed (even when he was on vacation for a week out of the country!) every week with progress calls and photos. The capstone of the project was a custom-built privacy fence made from beautiful multi-colored eastern cedar wood he found at his local lumber supplier. He and his craftsman took an idea I presented and handcrafted a 15-foot wood privacy screen that is the centerpiece of the whole yard. A one-of-a-kind piece of art that exceeded my expectations. We cannot put into words just how much we trust and appreciate Opulent House when it comes to renovation and unique projects. From the first phone contact to the final handshake at the end of the completed job- Brian and his team are top notch in talent, communication, and professionalism. I am confident in saying that our 100+ year old Playhouse renovation was probably a first for these guys - and the final results were simply amazing. My playhouse was built in the early 1900s and has been relocated from the Highland Park church area to Mount Pleasant and then back to Columbia. It has been special to generations of little girls and actually some really cool little boys also. There was a period of time that it also served as a drive up filling station just like Walter's Locke's Sinclair on South Main. Jim, my husband, knew that you can't put a price tag on memories, so when it was time to make the decision as to restoration or demolition he quickly approved Brian's quote. We needed a handful of projects done on our house, both inside and outside and called Brian at Opulent House after hearing about his company on Facebook. He came out within a day or two of me calling and was able to get me an estimate a few days after that, which was faster than any other company I spoke with. He was responsive and quick but also very detail oriented, asking about and checking on things that no other company even noticed. He and his partner Chris were fantastic to work with. Brian kept us informed of what was going on with each project. Any issues they came across, Brain and Chris were great at letting us know and helping us make the best decision for the project and our budget. They treated our house as if it was their own, which meant high quality work and respect for our home. Wow! I have had my fair share of disappointing service providers for my house, but even so, Brian and Opulent House have blown me away. The first thing that impressed me was the communication and the detail in that communication. He texted when he was on the way for our estimate and arrived right on time. Then I was emailed an estimate detailing all costs and services. And guess what? His prices were so reasonable! It is easy for contractors and handymen to take advantage and charge you crazy prices, but having so many years working in the industry on the customer service end, Brian knows how to treat his customers fairly.
