This business has been around for a very long time. It has a gallant history of being one of the finest in the south land. There's a big difference between chain store auto parts and the independent. The main reputation the Indy has over the chain is the QUALITY of the parts they sell. You can go to Autozone and get a lifetime warranty on the parts you buy, or you can get your parts from an Indy that has quality parts that won't break to begin with. If I replace a part, I don't want to have to replace it again. That goes especially for marine parts you see because you are not going to exercise that warranty when you are adrift out on a cold rainy night with gale warnings in effect. Car or boat, always purchase from an Indy because their parts generally are better. The chain stores parts are almost always Chinese and are OEM replacements. That does not mean they are OEM quality equivalent. Personally, any vehicle I repair, if the customer supplies a substandard Chinese part (which sometimes don't even have good fitment), I can't guarantee my work because I know the part will not last. That is why I get my parts at Orange Engine. I am an ASE Master Automotive Technician for over 40 years. You can have your car or boat "fixed" with chain store Chinese parts, OR you can use correct quality parts from an independent, and consider the work in good repair using the parts you should be using. Its up to you and how much time you want to enjoying your vehicle or vessel verses how much time you want to be working on it. I'm not saying that an independent does not carry parts imported from China. What I am saying is that those parts that are imported, are not high volume and low quality like the chain stores carry which are made by children. These guys are THE BEST. Many years ago when I was working on my 95 Wrangler, they were very helpful and knowledgeable in helping me get past the "sticky" parts. As I upgraded to newer vehicles, they always helped with the little things like replacing windshield wipers and checking my battery. I'm now back to working on my own car again, and the service hasn't changed. They won't sell you more than what you need, and it you need to return a quart of oil because you bought one too many, they'll gladly take it back. Being that I'm a woman and working on my own vehicles, it's nice to see some place that won't take advantage of a customer just because of their gender. Keep up the good work, guys. I moved out to Orange County about a year ago and I normally go to the "BIG" name auto parts stores for my needs. 1st time coming in and I was impressed! I was in need of a headlight bulb for one of my oldies and they had it in stock and they offer better prices than the "Big" name stores. I was in need for a battery for my car and called several shops around mission viejo, they quoted me at 200 for the battery and installation and some other shop quoted me at 177, which was still too high. Honestly, I have so many bad things to say I don't know where to start. My dad and I fortunately know just about everybody in the car world in Dana Point/ San Juan. Having grown up here and being super involved with cars/ working at car company's in san juan and every. single. person i've spoken to has something horrible to say about this place. Whether that be horrible customer service, mistakes, wrong parts being sold to customers, refunds not being given for wrong parts being sold, and just all around bad business. I own a small business, and work in retail and am pretty comfortable saying I know how things should be done. This store sold my boyfriend the wrong part, he gave them the ford factory info and they didn't ask him for ANY OTHER INFO, looked it up, told him this was his part and sold it to him. He then installed the rotors on his truck, and ran into tons of issues, only to take them off and go to auto zone snd find out this store had sold him the wrong part. He goes back thinking that it's a small business and they will gladly refund for their mistake. no. The guy basically said it was his fault for lifting it (lift had NOTHING to do with the issues), and then after just being an all around ass the entire conversation, ignoring him when he's trying to make polite conversation, etc. The guy tells him that it HAS to be a manufacture error, so I asked him, is the part number on the box different from the part number on the part? He says no, so I say, "then YOU made a mistake and you need to give him a refund", he says he will only give a refund if his manufacturer refunds him. Mind you this is after my boyfriend went there in person and got this answer, I called them after because I understand how small businesses run and though I would have better luck. Nope. He interrupted me the entire call every time I spoke would speak over me, and straight up told me several times he wasn't going to deal with me and wasn't going to speak to me and it would be 2-3 weeks before we would find out if we can get a refund because he wasn't going to just send the part back now, he had to wait till he had other things to send back. Overall a horrible horrible experience. They made a mistake and won't admit that, won't give my boyfriend back his money unless their manufacturer gives them theirs back. My boyfriend shouldn't have to pay for mistakes made by them or their manufacturer. I called my dad after this call who told me that everybody in the car industry down in san juan has had a bad experience with them, been sold the wrong parts, and refused refunds. They have a horrible business model, horrible customer service, and are honestly just rude. I plan to call back tomorrow as I received more info tonight on the mistakes they made/ have made in the past and it's very clear THEY are the ones that keep messing up and forcing customers to pay for their mistakes. Go literally ANYWHERE else, auto zone, orielly, or just the dealership, but you'll get treated like crap here and probably be sold the wrong part and told its your fault, because you didn't "check it". Luckily we know about cars, but I can't imagine how many people who have no car knowledge have gone here and trusted what they told them only to end up with extensive/ expensive repairs because they were sold the wrong thing. Mind you, this is all over $120... so stupid. read more

My mom had gotten a new car recently, so for Valentine's Day I bought her some crystal license plate covers to dress it up! Unfortunately I wasn't aware of the fact that the screws that came with the anti theft covers might not fit/ be long enough to thread through the plate covers and the plates, let alone reach the car! The original KIA motors plate covers had some screws of the same thickness, but the heads on them wouldn't fit into the anti theft caps! We walked in in hopes of grabbing some of the same thickness that were long enough, but we soon found out that there isn't such a thing. (They're an M6 metric) Alex was quickly to the rescue after exhausting all of the other options he could; he custom fit the screw tops to fit the anti theft caps and even put them on for us, making sure they were secure! We had asked him about possibly needing to replace some headlights on my car at home and Alex was more than happy to answer all our questions and recommended that I bring my car by when I'm ready! We will definitely be back by for anything we need, the customer service and overall vibe from Alex was more than enough to win us over! Thank you so much Alex! read more
