What a great place (even though the name doesn't do it justice)! The produce is fresh and well-priced, but the real draw is the international groceries. Lots of teas and packaged items from the middle east and eastern Europe. Olives from Turkey are my new favorite thing. Love this place! Fresh produce for a good price. You will find me here to get the ingredients for my juicer. They also have other products available and I like just walking around and see if I can find something to take home and try. This place reminds me of home-the Netherlands-where these Turkish grocery stores are found everywhere. It's a little tight in here, but that doesn't take away from the great experience you will have. I like to buy vegetables here but the people at the registers always make this kind of mistakes. This is the second time this is happened to me. I get charged twice for an item on my car. Even though it's nothing to make a big deal out of it, but it would be nice to just pay for what you get and not to be worried about checking every single item on your receipt cause you are constantly getting charged extra money. Small but nifty market hidden in a strip mall behind Savers. They have a different selection of unusual produce than the two Indian markets nearby, as well as different brands of Turkish Delight. Focus is on the produce, though there's a decent-sized can/jar/box section for Middle Eastern foods. For variety, you can get locally made Italian-American cheeses. A great find if you like farmers markets. Living in Connecticut is not like living in the south where they get Flea Markets with farmers who sell their vegetables year round. This find to me was absolute gold. I am used to farmers markets only in the summer when local farmers are growing, but this is an actual farmers market store, so they have every vegetable and fruit you could think of. I have seen them on Facebook, but living somewhat of a lengthy drive away from them, I never got to visit. After some doctors appointments, I decided to and I wasn't disappointed one bit. I got all of the vegetables and fruits I needed for under 10 dollars. The grapes are so good! Usually whenever I get grapes they are so sour and I can barely eat them. These are sweet and delicious. Whenever I visit orange I will visit this market Please be aware that it is tucked away on a side street, but it is a easy find once you know the location!! read more

This is a small little fruit/vegetable market. It seems to be owned and operated by a Turkish family. They seem very nice and genuinely interested in helping you. I've only been in once so far, as a friend of mine had told me about it. So I was in the area, with a few minutes to spare and decided to see if they'd had any cilantro..Yes they did. They also had a variety of apples, eggplant, oranges, green beans, cranberry beans (I think they were called), and quite a few of other Eastern European and Caribbean items. The prices were reasonable. The fruits/veggies we're in the middle of the store, while the perimeter was stocked with various Goya, Scalfini, and varieties of Eastern European boxed/canned/packaged goods. They did have a section of refrigerated items also...Cheese's in "cans" milk, Nesquik, Various "tortillas"(from different countries), Spanish queso, and some other things. The customers all seem to be from the various locations their products originate from, so that should tell you something...If you're looking for authentic..You might have found the place to get it. read more

Stay away from fruits....even if they look good. Took us a while to learn this lesson. We've bought peaches and nectarines only to throw them away, because they've tasted like water or they were rotten inside. Don't be fooled by the cheaper prices and the look of the produce. They sell poor quality fruits. The fact that this store only gives you 24 hours to return fruits, speaks volumes about their quality and customer service. read more

I used to love to shop there. I loved it even when the strawberries that I bought went bad the day after (which happened at least 3 times). For me, the merchandise was cheap and had a variety of fruits and vegetables so it was worth the 15 minute drive there. This weekend however, I experienced harassment from one of the employees there. She accused me of damaging a fruit on purpose when I tried to exchange it. She went on and on about how the fruit wasn't like that until I grabbed it so I told her to take a hike. She then went behind the cashier to complain about me. I later demanded to know her name because the way I was treated was unacceptable Adding to my frustration, no cashier seemed to understand English so I had to search on google for the owner's name and number. Needles to say, I am never going back there. read more

First, just to clarify - despite the name of the place, and the Yelp category it's listed under, this is not a "farmers market", it's a standard retail store. Now the review... Good selection of fruits and vegetables in terms of variety. Pretty good prices. However, the quality, particularly of the fruit, leaves much to be desired. Fruit is older, and of lesser quality. As such, not the bargain it appears to be. Also, two other things I have to mention: one trip there was a bunch of egg cartons there that had no date stamped on them. I looked them over numerous times but couldn't find the date. Very suspicious. Another time, was charged more on my credit card than what the register totaled, as the cashier has to punch in the amount on the credit card machine. Was a matter of 70 cents, and I'm almost certain it was an honest mistake, but still bothersome. Will be coming here less often going forward, and probably just for vegetables. read more

This is a very small storefront. They require that you wear a mask but there is absolutely no social distancing. The store is so crowded that you cannot shop safely. I would rather shop in my local grocery store where I can shop safely. read more

I've been coming here for years. If anyone remembers M&M Market in Milford, this is comparable. Very large selection of fruits & vegetables. Prices are up everywhere but this place still has best prices & value in the area. They expanded with other groceries like grains, juices, coffee, canned goods, etc. Really have everything I need except for meat. They even sell bread, bagels & naan. Check out the tables in front of the registers for clearance items. Those are usually a good deal, maybe just a day old, nothing wrong with it though. Its definitely worth it to try, I think you'd find it a gem. read more

I want to give this place 5 million stars. It has the best produce at the best prices anywhere in town. We get all of our produce here. Everything is in bulk bins so you can choose what you want and use your own produce bags. EVERYTHING here is cheaper than at other stores, but some things are less than half the price of other places. Five limes for ONE dollar?? A GALLON of good olive oil for $20!! I don't think we've ever managed to spend more than $60 in a trip, and that included enough food for two for the week, fresh local fruit, a dinner party for 12, and the aforementioned olive oil. I'm pretty sure our food budget would triple if we had to shop anywhere else. read more

It's not an actual farmer's market, no, and I can see why people would be confused. Maybe they should change the name/category listing. BUT, I love shopping here. The prices are pretty good, and they have a lot of exotic/hard-to-find fruits and veggies. Most of the time the prices are better than local supermarkets. There are occasionally wilty greens or bruised fruit in with the good stuff, but not any more so than normal that I've noticed despite what other reviewers here say, and I've been a regular customer there for about 2 years. They have some Turkish groceries available too, but I can't say how it compares to other sources of such items in the area. Staff has always been very friendly and nice to me. I found about this store from the Clipper Magazine. I expected this store to be similar to the one that was in Milford (M&M Market - which is sadly closed now). The prices are pretty decent compared to the supermarket. Quality is low, very low!!! Most of the fruit was rotten or had been sitting on the shelves for a while and I went on a Sunday afternoon. So, by the time you bring your stuff home, likely it will go bad pretty quickly as it did for me. Some of the fruit started going bad within a day. I will not return as you can get much better quality for 20-30 cents more at the supermarket or other ethnic stores and you can acutally use it before it goes rotten. read more

As someone pointed out below, this is NOT a true farmers market but rather a store that sells items at prices you might expect from a farmer. I've been on a honeycrisp apple kick lately and most other supermarkets have them for $2.40/lb. OFM had them for $1.29. Very plentiful supply of fruits and veg with bins to filter your own. Cuc's - 2/$1, Lemons 10/$10, most apples were 99cents/lb. 6 bagels for $1.49 (a bit old, yes). Quick sale table, $1/bag (past prime, but usable), for fruit or veggies. It's a bit of a drive for me, but I will be going there more whenever I am heading to that side of West Haven. You will save money here. read more

At Stop and Shop or Shoprite I pay $3.99 a pound for Poblano Peppers. At Orange Famer's Market $1.99 a pound and they are great. I would say yes, you need to use your produce rather quickly but I think it's worth it. You can find many things there that you would not find in a regular grocery store. read more
