Convenient location. I've been coming here for a year now. I've tried others but this is my fav for 'do it yourself'. Vacuums and cleaning brushes are powerful, costs are great considering location. Safe, quarter machine always stocked. Only had prob once with vacuum, someone jammed fake coins in the money insert. However there just happened to be an awesome friendly attendant who gave me my money back plus enough for free vacuuming. The only improvements I can think of would be a bug pre soak for the drive-thru and a brushed tire cleaner for the drive-thru. But that would probably make it more expensive which to me wouldn't be worth it. No bathrooms but it's downtown so even if there were... ummmm.... yuck! & normally no attendance but very safe. read more

I really needed my car washed and I literally live 2 blocks down from this place, but I never thought to take my car here. Little did I know, it was a great experience! I went through the hand wash express (since I'm too lazy to wash it myself lol) and they had a deal. If you check into Orbit Wash on Facebook, they give you an upgrade for free! I paid $12.95 for a $15.95 wash. Since it's actual human beings who prep your car for a wash and then human beings who dry your car after the car wash, it wasn't too shabby! I liked the customer service and they were excellent! I also thought that the mirror up top to see what they're doing behind your car was a great idea! Definitely made me less scared of what they were doing to my car. I will most likely be coming back since it's right by my place. It's convenient and so worth it! We tipped our dryer guy $5 (although he didn't dry every single spot), but I'm just that type of person who's way too detailed lol If you get the chance, come on by! Try it out. :) read more

I went to this place because of how good the yelp reviews were, and full disclosure, I've never gotten the inside of my car done before. So for all I know, this could be how all full service car washes are... When I got there no one was working the part where you drive in, so I pulled up and waited for about 2 minutes. I made eye contact with the guy who was wiping down a car, so I figured he would help me... But He just kept wiping. So then I thought "maybe I'll pull in a little more to get things started"... So I pulled in to the little garage part where the car wash thing is.... Sat in there for a few minutes... Nothing. So I backed out! Then I decided to get out of the car and go in the office, which I don't think is a real thing because no one was in there and it's just a desk with an old timey phone in it. So I kind of walked in front while making eye contact again with the same guy... Then I asked him "what do I do to get this thing started?" Then he said to just wait in the car, so I did and then after about 10 minutes of waiting It was finally time for them to wash my car! I think one reason why it took so long for them to get to me, was that there was only two guys working... By the time they got to my car, the line was at least 5 cars long. Anyway, the final product was a lot less than what I had hoped for. There were several dusty spots on the inside of the car and they didn't get in my cup holders (it was hella dusty in there). Over all: I would give the outside wash an 8 out of 10 and the inside a 6 out of 10. I might go back some time I guess... The self wash actually looked pretty legit. read more

SUCKS!!!! The vacuums here actually suck like $500 shop vacs!! How any other self-serve car washes within 5-miles of Orbit even stay in business I don't know. Those I once used are almost all dingy, unkept relics of the 1980s compared to the state-of-the-art cleaning Orbit cleaning stations. And the spray on "wax" at Orbit leaves my wife's car looking like I spent an afternoon on it! Thank you Orbit Owners for gracing Sacramento with such an excellent facility. read more

I am going to go ahead and give this little self serve/drive through car wash a 5 b/c they offer a wonderful drive through wash that actually cleans your car, an area to vacuum and wipe down, and a self serve wash as well. The reason I'm giving 5 stars is b/c the price is right and there are hardly any places like this in midtown. In addition, I do not understand why car washes are so damn expensive up here. In LA full service washes are $10-$15 while in Sacramento they are $25-$50! So this place is now my go-to b/c I will not pay that ridiculous amt of money to have someone else put my car through a washer and run a rag over my interior. read more

Yay! They fixed the blow dryer situation. Those air guns now have firepower again blew all the dust and debris out of my sports cars and washed and drive them beautifully.! Attending to the issue. I guess if you don't let them know I'll fight you having an issue they can't address it, I just kind of figured somebody else would have done it by now or they would have noticed. So my bad. Really confusing set up if it's your first time. There are only instructions on their website for using their auto pay so my wash timed out without even washing my car (the lights kept telling me to pull forward and then back up but I wasn't really sure where exactly I was supposed to stop). There was no one in the office or anywhere on site at 5PM to ask for help so I went to the self wash bay. I used 4 tokens for 5 minutes which wasn't enough time to wash my car so I swiped my card (which charged me $10 for less than 5 minutes of wash) for more time. I attempted to dry my car after but the dryer was nowhere near powerful enough to drive my car in a cost efficient way, so I just drove away with an absolutely soaked car. I thoroughly recommend driving to West Sac to visit Quick Quack wash, because $25 for a poor wash job is not worth it. read more

If you want fast, cheap and good enough drive through car wash then this is the place to go. The machines don't exactly do a deep clean and get everything out but it does make a super dirty car noticeably cleaner. For $12 or less depending on which wash you choose, you get what you pay for. read more

I stopped by Orbit on Sunday morning after the Farmer's Market cause the beast was in bad shape. Dust, mixed with the tiny rain last week created a moving dirt-clod. This was my first time going to Orbit but I've always been a fan of the self-wash - I don't have to pay as much as full service or deal with the missed spots from the drive-thru car wash. So, after finding a spot, I took a minute to figure out the cash-to-token system. If you have bills, you put them through the changer and it gives you $1 tokens - important to note that if you don't use all your tokens, say from a $20 bill, you're stuck with them until the next time. My advice, bring some smaller denominations. I ended up spending $7 on this carwash, which seems a tad high for self-serve, but like I said, my car was FILTHY. But after a few minutes of brusha, brusha, brusha, it ended up shining like a new penny :) Overall, this car wash is nicer than your average, do-it-yourself situation. There are attendants on duty if you need help, there are a couple of vacuums available for interior work, and everything looked very clean and tidy. I'll definitely be back! read more

The $2 promo code from Yelp hasn't worked the last two times I was there. A timer for the air dryer would be nice so you'll know how fast or slow you need to drive. I paid $12 for a wash and because the guy in front of me took too long to get out of the way resulted in me not able to get to the right spot on time. No attendant in site. I'm not sure if the stalls here are too small or if I'm just too big but I felt like I should be singing "fat guy in a little car wash" when I pulled the work chariot into one of the stalls here recently. It's a really nice facility with new features and convenient amenities to enhance your experience but on this visit, it just didn't start well right out of the gates. I pull into the self-wash stall around 7:30 or eight o' clock and notice that I don't have much room between my little pick-up and the sides of the stall. This made it a bit difficult to maneuver around that sprayer hose or what ever it's called that's connected to that swivel arm thing at the top of the stall. You know what I'm talking about, the one that goes in circles around your car when you're washing it. They also accept ATM/plastic at the pay machine in the wash-stall which, I gotta say is quite convenient because I hate spending thirteen minutes dropping ninety seven quarters into a machine to wash my car for four minutes. But, be careful folks, this is where Orbit duped me! I paid for my seven minutes of wash time but it only gave me six and a half. Uh oh. You're right, that is pretty cheap and insignificant to bitch about but that's where I start losing trust in your credibility if you're pulling shadiness like that. So here I was, fat guy in a little car wash stall, waxing on and waxing off until my time ran out but in the end, I had a clean little work chariot that absolutely glistened on the ride into work. Overall, it's a real clean car wash and they even offer self-wash stalls inside for your furry friend if you don't like doing it at home. It's also very well lit at night in case you get that itch to wash your rig or your pet at night. I may come back, but maybe during regular business hours so I can let someone know if it doesn't give me all of my time again. read more

This is the first DIY car wash I've been to that takes credit cards. The place is open late, so when you head downtown for dinner and the birds destroy your car, you can take care of that ASAP. It's brightly lit, and doesn't feel unsafe at night. If a perp approaches you, use the power rinse setting. read more

Came to use the automatic car wash this afternoon and got in line behind two cars. After several minutes of no movement and more cars lining up behind me, the driver of the first car came out to tell everyone that the wash wasn't functioning. He and the car in front of me had already paid. We tried calling the number posted on a sign that read "if you have problems please call...". No answer! No one was in the office, no staff present, period. Quite a show with a line of cars having to reverse and get out. I just read the other reviews and tips on this place, it seems to be a common occurrence. I was excited to have found a car wash in my neighborhood but now have no desire to waste my time or money here. read more

I have been to this car wash before and the full service area was 5 star. They are no longer offering hand wash or dry service only the automatic car wash and a blow dryer. I had the worse car wash experience of my life today. The attendant sprayed a bug remover on the car before the wash started (no pre-scrub). The machine started with the soap which smelled ok. When the machine started dumping water, the car filled with a very strong odor that smelled like raw sewage. I was trapped in the car and had to endure this smell throughout the entire wash. The cycle finished off with a 100+ second blow dryer. When I inspected the car there were still bugs on the grill, dirty/sap on the roof and blue residue left over from the soap. I talked to the attendant about the smell and she told me there was something wrong with the sewer under the machine, but the car was washed in clean water. Maybe the smell issue was a one-time thing because of the sewer problem, but if they are no longer offering hand wash and towel dry you are better off getting a car wash at a gas station. read more

I used to love Orbit Wash....however they recently put in a new machine wash system so they no longer do hand washes (which was the best part about them). The only reason I started going to Orbit Wash is because they did hand/touch free washes. Now they have gone to the started machine wash system and it's really not that great of a deal. They have those "blow dryers" at the end which do absolutely nothing, had to get out and hand dry my car afterwards as 2 employees watched. They also have a bunch of "unwritten" rules for their DIY wash bays that the workers will kinda scold you for doing once you start to break them. Won't allow you to use a bucket and your own soap and the vacuums almost never work (seriously like once every 5 times). Also unless you get a DIY bay on the outsides it is really hard to maneuver around your car (unless it's super small). Staff are usually pretty friendly but in my opinion it's taken a turn for the worst, will probably be going somewhere else now....shame because I love supporting local midtown businesses. read more

I love cars, saving cash and have been to Orbit Wash at least a dozen times since it opened. Pro tip: If you use the coin op bays, wait for one of the stations on the ends. Don't use the two in the middle because they are cramped and very difficult to maneuver. The credit card machines take Visa but not MasterCard for some reason. The Good: The full service wash is actually quite good. No complaints here. If you are in need of a full service wash and don't want to do it yourself, it's not a bad price for what you get in midtown. The Bad: Don't expect the self service vacuums to actually work. I will say that when they do work, they work well. But on at least half of my visits, the vacuums really suck--or if you are a literalist, don't suck--in that they are often jammed and are horrible to operate. Summary: Go here for a full service wash. If you are looking to DIY, don't bother, the bays are cramped and the vacuums are clogged most of the time. read more

I thought this place was a cheap place. First time I go there I was ripped off. Went through the automatic car wash and after I paid I got a message on screen saying that the service was unavailable. I email the guy in charge. The next I day I get an email back saying that I can meet up with him and get a refund. So today I go meet up with him at the car wash and he gives me a full refund. I asked to show him my receipt and he told me no need for that. He even offered me a free 10 dollar car wash. I tried really hard to deny that offer because a refund was all that I needed. He still insisted on giving me that so he did. He told me he at least wanted me to try out the place. So I will definitely be going back to this place to try it out and hopefully it won't be a disappointment like my first visit. Safe to say, I'm still a happy customer. read more

I pulled right into an empty stall, instructions posted were very clear. Trash cans were recently emptied and the option to use a debit card was awesome and not something a lot of other car washes have. The screen also adds up your total amount as time passes which was nice. The high pressure worked great and I got an awesome car wash for half the price of that damn duck carwash lol read more

Four stalls for self washes, with credit card panels so that you don't have to go digging around for quarters, or take your $5 bill up to change machine and see that it's been bashed in and emptied (sorry, bad memories from other washes). My car desperately needed a quick wash after driving through the Central Valley. I discovered this little place and I thought it was really great. You have two options - either wash your own car or they wash it for you. I got out, paid and got back in my car. The two gentlemen handling the operation were super friendly. One washed and one dried. Easy enough! And, they also let me use their vacuum for free instead of paying $7.00 to have them do it. I will be back with dirty car in tow! read more

Not a fan, just on principle alone. Clean facility, well equipped, and easy to use. However, not ideal if you go with more than one vehicle and you need to park one while you wash the other. There is one designated parking spot on the premises, but when we parked one vehicle there while washing the other, the owner/manager told us not to park there saying "we don't like people parking there because its too close to the tunnel wash." The problem? I'm disabled, my disability is neuromuscular and causes 85% of my challenges in/with my legs. Instead of allowing me to use this space, I had to drive around the block looking for a spot and walk. Even after I asked about what they do for those that are disabled, he just said, "Oh, uuhm..." I'm pretty sure city ordinance and/or building codes require this business to have at least one parking spot for its customers which is why they don't block it off or post a "no parking" sign. Instead, they remain "compliant" in appearance but hinder and harass their customers about parking - in a perfectly good and legal spot. read more

This is a great place to wash/detail your car! Not only do you have the option to do a self-service wash, but there is also an automatic car wash. During my first visit, I was short on time and decided to drive my car through the automatic wash. I checked in on Yelp and received a code for $2 off the Universal Wash, which is the most expensive wash. The code was easy to enter and had no issue making a payment. I loved the fact that there was a pre-wash spray and brush to help get out all the splattered bugs and bird poop from my car before it actually went through the wash. The wash was great and cleaned every inch of my car. I usually get my car hand washed to avoid this issue. After running through the wash, I was able to completely dry the outside and detail the inside on my own. The only complaint I had is that the vacuum I used had low suction and didn't pick up a lot of the dirt in my car. read more
