Stayed here for two nights during an anniversary trip. Beds were comfy and the fireplace added great ambience (and put out a lot of heat!). Rooms were clean although maybe in need of a touch of updating. No noise from neighbors. Didn't access the back patio bc of uncooperative weather, but seems like would be a nice place to hang out in warmer/drier seasons. The lodge serves lunch and dinner and we noticed live music on Thursday nite -- and a happy hour that starts at 9pm. Free breakfast buffet (with a gorgeous view and friendly waitstaff) and access to the Oregon Garden were great bonuses! Really not too far away from downtown Silverton and a nice spot for peace and quiet and quality time with your hunny bunny. read more

Very nice place ! We came up for an early Valentine celebration ! The grounds are very nice , there is a Frank Lloyd Wright house in the same area that you can visit for free , Also there is the famous Oregon Garden that you can also visit for free as a guest on this hotel ! The rooms are very nice and situated in quad plexs for every 4 rooms and done very well ! Most of the rooms have fireplaces and if you like flowers and the sweet smell of them , this place abounds with that aroma ! I knew my wife would love it and she did ! The restaurant was nice and we both had the Ribeye steaks last night and they were exceptional ! Appetizer we shared were coconut prawns. We then each had a slice of warm pie to round out our dinner ! Mmm,mmm good ... Our bellies were smiling ! :-) This morning we both booked appointments at their moonstone spa and both had superb massages ahhh! We highly recommend this true resort without question ! read more

We really enjoyed our stay at the Oregon Gardens Resort! There are a few things that could be better but overall, it was a lovely experience! The few things that weren't as great were that our room had just a few issues. First our room had some ants.. however, it certainly wasn't infested. But we did notice consistent ant presence on the floor mainly. Next, our coffee maker in our room didn't work at first. We finally got it to work but the coffee was pretty gross. However, they have free coffee in the Lobby. Otherwise, our room was adorable. We were in the K building and really liked being close to all of the holiday events! At first we were worried being close to the action may cause it to be loud. But that didn't end up being an issue at all. Our cottage was quiet and comfy when we wanted to take a break. Overall we had such a lovely time! We'll definitely be back! I highly recommend booking a stay at this lovely resort! read more

The room was very nice, and so quiet! The breakfast buffet is definitely a notch above the usual hotel breakfast, and in a really pretty space. The gardens are also gorgeous, and you get free entrance to them when to stay here. If we're in the general Salem area again, we'll choose this over Best Western for sure. read more

I got a deal to stay at the garden and do their tulip package to get tickets to the Woodburn Tulip Festival and it was an amazing experience. Not only do you get free admission to their garden, you got admission to the nearby tulip festival with a complimentary glass of wine. They also partner with a lot of nearby wineries to do free and discounted wine tastings with proof of your stay. They have complimentary breakfast that overlooks tbe gardens and an on-site lounge that does entertainment and happy hour specials. The room we got was in a cabin that jad 4 different rooms to a building and it was so spacious, large bathroom, a fireplace, a little backyard area amd a table inside. We also did the dog package add on bag included bags, a bowl and a toy. The only thing with that was the toy was a lot smaller than what it looked like in the photo so kind of small for any dog bigger than a terrier. Everything else was great though and I would definitely stay again with another package deal. read more

A very nice, relaxing oasis to slow down life just a little bit. Nice that we were able to check in a bit earlier than the normal 3 PM check in time. Desk staff was quite friendly and helpful. Their online pre-check-in process is arguably a bit invasive, but speeds up the check in process dramatically. I am rating this place 4 stars for the decent, quiet room and lovely gardens. The furnishings were somewhat dated but very clean. Such a peaceful place surrounded by beautiful plantings, we loved it and will go back again. That being said, we ate at the on-site restaurant and it was abysmal. The service was incredibly slow. We got our salads after an extended wait, but they forgot the bread. The waitress said she would be right back with it but that did not happen. When we got our dinner, the "medium well" rib eye steaks we ordered were RARE. I mean red, blood on the plate RARE. So I sent mine back, my friend chose to keep his the way it was. The baked potatoes were not even warm enough to melt the butter. Mine was sent back along with the steak. After about 20 minutes the waitress replaced my potato with another barely warm one. Also at this point, we FINALLY got our drinks which were ordered as soon as arrived at our table, approximately 45 minutes later. I waited another half hour after I got the replacement potato for my replacement steak which did finally arrive cooked to medium well. I had told my friend to eat his meal while I waited, so his wouldnt get cold, and he finished his whole meal and I hadn't even had any of mine except the salad. By then I was disgusted with the horrible service, cold potatoes and the fact that the cook didn't know how to cook a steak to a customer's specification. When my steak arrived, I asked for a box for my steak to go. I am rating the restaurant ONE star. If you stay here I would suggest going into the charming town of Silverton for dinner instead. read more

We stayed here for one night for the Christmas market. Everyone was friendly from checking in to the resort for our one night stay to checking out the next day. Our room was steps away from the entrance for the Christmas market. It was so nice to see all the lights while sipping on some warm mulled wine. We didn't care much for the bratwurst's the bread was cold. Would have been better heated up. You could tell with one of the breads they just took it apart with fingers instead of cutting it with a knife. That's how cold the bread was. My bread was falling apart and couldn't eat it properly with the sausage. Maybe next time we will just eat at the lodge vs the little markets. read more

We recently booked the dinner, two night package and were particularly impressed with the meal served. It came with a bottle of wine and the was salmon was perfect. In addition we would like to give credit to Destiny ( who helped us with booking the stay) and to Tony who took care of extra needs we had. This hotel continues to be a favorite due to location, comfortable rooms with fireplace, frig, microwave and coffee maker, breakfast. It was a treat to have access to,the gardens again. We came here for the German Holiday Market event that happens annually during this time of year. The front desk guy "Tony" told us about it during our last visit and it sounded like a unique holiday experience. Tony was not wrong *WOW*!! I'm pretty sure we had one of the best rooms in the house for the Christmas Lights!!! Our private balcony had an elevated view of the Xmas Light path that leads to the Holiday Market. The light display covers the entire area and are on until 10pm. It definitely gave us cozy Christmas vibes. I don't think that any photos could possibly do this event justice. We came during the week to avoid the crowds and I could not be more pleased with our experience. This event is unique and festive. The light displays alone are worth the trip and stay. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable. The gas fireplace provides both heat and ambiance. We didn't hear any noise from neighboring rooms which is really nice. There were tons of staff who were all very helpful, and so friendly . The whole campus was very well organized , lots of signs around and there were a lot of staff around to help you find your way . A friend and I took advantage of a special being offered for ladies and their besties! First we each had a spa treatment, me a facial and my friend a massage. The spa is a delight for the senses, from the moment we entered the area. Next, we checked into our room and we were not disappointed. There were two queen sized beds, a fireplace and a roomy bathroom. After a brief nap we went to the restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious dinner including a bottle of wine. The Oregon Garden Resort is pretty average as far as hotels go. There are many different buildings, each with several rooms, and you'll be provided with a map at check-in showing you which building is yours, and how to drive there. The signage on the buildings is TERRIBLE, though, and almost impossible to read after dark (it's far easier during daylight). The building number signs are metal that are offset from the building, and are backlit. This is less than optimal. The rooms themselves are adequate, reasonable clean, and in a reasonable state of repair. The furniture and fixtures look pretty dated. Each room has a gas fireplace, with no apparent controls. Mine was off all night, and spontaneously turned on at about 4:00 AM. The shower in my room had a few long black hairs stuck to the side, which was pretty off-putting. Ice machines are outdoors, as are vending machines. There is a bar / restaurant on-site, which is passable, but definitely not a destination. Each room has its own private patio, which is thoughtful, but takes on a "horror movie" sort of atmosphere at night. The Oregon Garden Resort is one of very few hotels in the area, so there's not a lot of competition, and it shows. read more

So the stay was okay. Everyone seemed really nice. Cute restaurant and good breakfast. When we first arrived I noticed a a couple ants here and there in the room. I thought nothing of it as we are out in the wilderness but the morning we woke up to check out we found ants covering the bed! On myself, my fiancée and my 6 month old baby! We packed up asap (6 hours earlier then planned) and went to the front desk where a Garrick didn't apologize just said since we booked through a third party they wouldn't do anything. So I contact hotels.com and they tell me they have to contact the hotel and when they did would only refund $20. If I could give 6 stars I would. excellent value..$165 for a room overlooking the wedding garden, clean, spacious. The checkin was fast, the clerks pleasant. The resort grounds beautiful, manicured and clean with foliage and flowers galore. The plus is it is right in the Oregon Garden, free to get in as a guest. A must see but suggest you take the tram(stops at 3:30, makes no sense if you check in at 4:00), then walk it. The restaurant for dinner I would give 4 stars for quality( all are window seats to the garden). Ribeye steak was so so, heard a waitress suggest the beef medallions. The salmon was very flavorful with citrus sauces but a little tough, not as flaky as it shouldn't be. Attentive waitresses. We will definitely return. read more

Housekeeping walked in one morning without a knock or warning. She apologized then said our room wasn't on her list as occupied. Informed the front desk when checking out, and they confirmed our room showed as occupied and they would alert management. The front desk didn't ask if everything was OK, just took the keys and said bye. Had to ask for her attention to bring the issue with housekeeping up. Found a couple stink bugs hanging out on the lampshades when we first entered the room. Double queen beds were OK. Mine felt lumpy but was able to sleep. Serious wear is apparent on the carpet, creaking floor boards, stained bench at the foot of the bed, bathroom walls and floors. 1 bar of hotel soap in the bath but there were dispensers for soap, shampoo and conditioner in the shower. The pumps had to be pushed down four or five times to get any soap out of them. Room had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker which we didn't use. Also had a mini blow dryer. Has a large flatscreen TV and the cable reception was great. Gas fireplace was really nice. The light festival was small and a letdown. We walked through the lights which were cool but small, with a few displays having lights that weren't on. There were only 6 vendors and they were selling jewelry or jars of stuff we weren't interested in with 1 food/drink booth open. Advertised carolers but never saw any. The separate singing entertainment thought that singing "Desperado" during a Christmas light festival was appropriate. We had what they called VIP parking as we stayed the night. Property is VERY dark at night and the road going to it is windy. It is hard to see. read more

Once a premier destination due to reciprocity with the botanical gardens next door, the Oregon Garden Resort has fallen into a sad state of disrepair following a change of ownership. Gates between the garden and resort have been erected, and hotel guests no longer enjoy unfettered access to the beautiful garden grounds. Garden enthusiasts be warned, a private residence or local inn might be better suited for those seeking quality accommodations. In full disclosure, I booked several nights at the hotel mid-summer for their garden concert series. The concert was amazing, the food vendor offerings were delicious, and I had a great time at the event. Check in was a breeze, the breakfast buffet had bountiful offerings, and the sprawling dining room offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The hotel management appears to apply the bulk of their time and resources in maintaining the main building that encompasses the registration area, pool, restaurant and concert garden. The rest of the resort, including all of the guest quarters and grounds, has devolved into a dystopian nightmare. Trees and shrubs are dying from lack of water, blackberry vines are taking over patios, and weeds are growing through cracks in sidewalks. My late July visit revealed a dry, brown and dying mess that almost brought tears to my eyes. The beautiful garden resort is a shadow of its former self. My room was spacious with high ceilings and excellent air conditioning, but I was unimpressed otherwise. The bed wasn't anchored, awkwardly sliding across the floor with the slightest movement. The gas fireplace was non-functioning, the patio was disturbingly overgrown with weeds and vines, and the baseboards in the bathroom showed signs of water damage; swollen, discolored and in need of repair. The musty smell clung to me as I left my room each morning. I struggle with writing a negative review about the Oregon Garden Resort because I don't want to deter folks from enjoying easy access to the garden, or the fantastic special events that occur at the resort. But it's important resort management realizes they can't coast on the stellar reputation the facility once had. Yes, I understand Covid-induced staffing issues are a reality, but management must prioritize caring for the grounds. I am hopeful this period of transition is but a minor glitch in the life of this once grand estate. read more

Delicious dinner for all four of us. Our waitress Kate was wonderful. The guys had salmon over zoodles, which they enjoyed. I had the salmon with Marionberry compote with veggies and a baked potato -all delicious (I was surprised at how large a piece of salmon I received. Our fourth person had a soup whic she enjoyed. My friends and I had a very comfortable stay at Oregon Garden Resort. We chose Silverton because it was conveniently located to Silver Falls State Park. Our room was clean and comfortable with a cute patio. The front desk staff was very kind and helpful and the breakfast is wonderful! They had scrambled eggs each day, as well as a couple of muffin options, yogurt, toast, and breakfast sausage. One day they had a bread pudding and the next day they had potatoes. In the evenings, there is live music in their restaurant area. The grounds are lovely as well. We glimpsed some alpacas, there are gardens to walk around, and most unique of all, a Frank Lloyd Wright house! The house is only open limited hours but it was still nice to walk around the outside. The hotel is also a five minute drive from downtown Silverton. Highly recommend staying at Oregon Garden Resort if you're in the area! read more

A solid 3.5 stars. Expensive for the lights you get. Social distancing is NOT possible, if you feel like you need that, because there are a LOT of people on the light path. The lights are pretty, and well done. There weren't many vendors at all for the "Christmas Market" portion of this event, but they were cute. We had absolutely NO line for Santa because the Market was so empty for people interested in the vendors. The tubing was okay but it was less than 30 seconds for the experience. However I will say that the kids all loved it. I'm glad we went and had the experience but for $18/adult PLUS kids and the tubing experience it was more cost than it was worthwhile. Wow, another fabulous Christmas meal at the Resort....service was great, the view of the many many trees/bushes/etc/covered in lights was spectacular and the meal was so delicious....just like last year. This year however, they had decorated all the lodges and a road-route you could take around part of the property and the dining/bar lodge was very nicely decorated, too....really added to our experience. Thanks so much for a fantastic experience.....PS If you go between now and Dec 31st all the lights will still be up/drive thru the lodges to the end and back around and you'll pass many of the displays walking people pay to go through daily....PS I had the Salmon & my wife had the Ravioli, plus we had a Shrimp/Prawn appetizer....Delicious. We used to stay here a lot and it was great but due to medical challenges and indoor/outdoor animals we're trying to take care of we've quit going out....this was a very special treat.....A less expensive option is the H 99 in Brooks. read more

I can't really find a reason to give less than five stars. The room is spacious and clean. The beds are soft yet firm enough to not get stuck in it. The heat is controlled by an actual gas fireplace monitored and regulated by a thermostat and a ceiling fan to move the warm air down. The rooms are in bungalows. All rooms are ground floor and have a back door to a private patio. The bathrooms are well maintained and clean. There is a hair dryer available and the shower head is actually up high enough to where you don't have to do the 'limbo' just to wash your hair. Furnishings include dressers to unpack your suitcase and a couple of small tables and chairs for the working traveler. In room coffee is available as well as an iron and board. It only took us an hour and 20 minutes to get here, but I would gladly stay again. We came for the Silverton Christmas Market and didn't want to have to drive back at midnight. I travel through Oregon a lot when visiting family in Washington State, and I try as often as I can to stay here. I discovered this place back during the total eclipse in 2017 and have since been back in Silverton each year since. It is so relaxing here, the grounds are beautiful. I love all the plants and flowers. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and quiet!! I bring my dogs, they have dog-friendly rooms with little patio backyards that are nice to sit in. Close to charming downtown Silverton and make sure to go to beautiful Silver Falls. And of course the resort is located adjacent to Oregon Garden, which is spectacular. If you like to walk and get exercise in a beautiful place, come here! Nice pool and restaurant too! read more

I wanted to like this place more than I did. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, which is why I have three stars. The rooms are comfortable but they need some maintenance and repair or a complete redo. When you look at the pictures you'll see a very nice room but once you get inside you'll notice some issues. The dirty carpet, dust and cob webs in the corners of the room, the bathroom caulking and old damaged furniture. The bed was very comfortable and the fireplace is a nice touch. There is a small patio with chairs and table, but the AC of the adjoining room Is there too, so it's loud. The worse part is that the gardens are no longer accessible to the hotel. The food on the restaurant was pretty good and breakfast was well done and delicious. The lounge is super cool with a singer every night. I hope they renovate this place to bring back its glory. read more

PROS * We stayed in one of the "cottages". It was spacious enough for two people. Large bed, 4 lamps, 3 chairs, good TV, clean and well appointed. * The fireplace would not light. I called the front desk and someone showed up in less than 10 minutes to get it going. CONS Unfortunately the cons outweighed the pros. We did not eat any meals there as we read enough reviews to persuade us to go to town. We stayed here only because we were attending a wedding nearby. * Although built in 2008, the property has the feeling of being around since the 1960s. The building colors give the appearance of being painted with recycled paint. The place feels old, and not in a good way. * The grounds are nice in some places but trashy in many others. Why does the management expose all the "behind the scenes" maintenance material to the guests? * This was really bad. We read that other guests had the same issue. It was a cool evening so we opened the windows at night for fresh air. 22' feet away, another unit's air conditioner was running, making loud humming and metallic noises. We were forced to close our windows. * We did not study the whole area, but there are some obvious architectural mistakes. (1) The outdoor patio is more reminiscent of a dog kennel area then a place one would want to sit. No view, ugly building colors, terrible landscaping. (2) Even though they are called cottages, they really are four units that are accessed by a dark, covered, concrete hallway. (3) The large maintenance and junk collection area should be screened from view. Had I taken the time I believe I could find many other obvious flaws. Our stay was a one off. We attended the wedding and vowed never to return. read more

NOT IMPRESSED! They have a sign on the lobby counter that asks you to be patient while their staff is learning the new reservation system. They fail to mention that they are impatient with you when THEY get the reservation WRONG. After we had the cleaning staff walk into our room while we were sleeping, we learned our second night (booked directly through the resort) had not gone through. When I called the front desk they said that I didn't have a reservation for the second night and that they were fully booked. I got dressed and walked to the reception, where a teenager told me the manager would get back to me...still waiting. I've now been inconvenienced, privacy violated, and the charm of the place is lost. read more

Made reservations for a birthday celebration weekend. We brought our two small dogs, so we reserved a king bed pet-friendly room. The rooms are set up in small cottages with outdoor patios. I believe each cottage has four seperate rooms. I'm not 100% sure how the pet-friendly rooms are decided, but ours was pretty nice considering. The bed was comfortable. The pillows were a bit hard, but it's all about preference. The room was clean and included A/C, microwave, coffee maker and mini-fridge. There was also a back door that opened to the patio with bistro table and two chairs. With each room reservation, you get unlimited access to the gardens, and a free hot breakfast. The breakfast is served from 7-10am, and includes scrambled eggs, sausage, yogurt with various toppings, oatmeal, bread for toast, marionberry compote, juices, muffins and coffee. Pretty decent variety for a free breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay here and are already planning our return. Would highly recommend! read more

First off, the check in process was painless, and the gal nice... However, the rooms are in dire need of updating, as well as the bathrooms. The siding, as you walk into the room, was dirty with some sort of something got splashed on it. If housekeeping would of just took a damp towel to this, it would of made such an improvement. The welcome mat was tattered and should of been thrown away. Leaves all over the cement outside our door. I really don't think there is any clean up, or maintenance at all to the outside of the building. As we look out our window, we see the decks above us all look unsafe, like they have rotted away,,Covered in mold, as well. I sure hope nobody falls when one of these gives way.. Sorry to give such a bad review, but it is just sad to pay 240.00 a nite, and have such poor and unkept accommodations. read more

The room air conditioners are loud! We were looking forward to our patio but couldn't use it due to the noise from our neighbors air conditioner. The air for the next door room was mounted in our patio area and was very loud. As a result, not only could we not use the patio but had to keep our windows closed all night long while there was cool air outside. As a result we had to run our air conditioner and it was loud inside our room. The room was very nice otherwise. If you were visiting in cooler weather I suppose this would not be an issue. When we told staff at the front desk they said this was a common complaint - end of story. read more

This is our second year coming for 4th of July. We enjoy the pool, restaurant and grounds. The fireworks display was excellent so we are looking forward to it again tonight! No traffic to deal with- just walk to your spot and enjoy the event which was very high quality last year. Highly recommend! I'm over all the crowds, parking etc. this is how we will do the 4th from now on. They do the show on the 3rd so we get home safe and sound for the 4th, kids love it. They have a great happy hour to save on the cost of food- kids menu is great! My son had pasta and shrimp for 11 bucks. We appreciated being able to bring our dog to for a reasonable fee. The rooms are ok- they are getting worn down and could use an upgrade but all in all it's fine. The free breakfast is excellent quality! This was a celebration trip for my sister, her dog and I. We haven't done much due to Covid but now we are fully vaccinated and ready to get out! The good-the staff in the bar were very nice and the happy hour food was terrific and fresh! The hotel has pet friendly rooms. Microwave and refrigerator and bath tub. The BAD-room smelled like urine. Very stuffy as well. I understand it's a pet friendly room, so get rid of the carpets. Steam clean the floors. They were very dirty. The fireplace went out-but the front desk did have someone come fix it quickly. Due to covid we could not be in the room. That's fine. Big stains on bedding. White bedding needs to be replaced when huge stains are present. My allergies were so bad in the room. I let the from desk know but she was neither apologetic and could not offer another room. Bummer. Went and bought more allergy meds. Are people vacationing with cats? Hairs everywhere.. Hair in shower. Hair on the floors. Hair on night shades. Small TV and the volume kept turning off randomly. Out on the patio was dirty. Light was dirty. Bird crap on the side of the building needs to be pressure washed off. "Free breakfast" was pitiful if you order the pastry and fruit. It was two small banana muffins and a banana, lol. Hope you like bananas I guess. There is a gas fireplace in the room but no carbon monoxide detectors. I should've just left when I realized this but it was late at night. I didn't sleep very well. Please offer your guests passes to the garden again. Or offer a discount for guests. Seriously, how hard is it to make a deal with the gardens?? This is the big reason we drive over here. To see the gardens! If you are understaffed, pay your employees more. In my opinion I would've gotten them back months ago and done a deep clean of the rooms before folks started wanting to travel again. Would've been perfect timing while it was slow! It was a decent stay but this property needs to do better. read more

Everything was excellent! The beds and pillows were so comfortable. The room was private with a patio, it was very clean. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful and served in the dining room ; it was not pack and go! The staff was friendly and accommodating. The views were beautiful and the Oregon Garden was next door to stroll through. Not one complaint. read more

Absolutely disgusting. See photos. So bad, we had to change rooms. - Lack of dignity/respect for people in wheelchairs - Broken phone in room, - Grime on the walls - Food spills and residue on the tables (during Covid) - Tables chipped and bubbling up from liquid damage - Ants, chipped furniture - Remote control broken with back missing, held together with masking tape - Spills on the lampshade The worst part? Our first room was for people in ADA, American Disabilities Act, category. So if you're handicapped, you get a disgusting room that's so extremely unclean and with the oldest, most broken down furniture. Rubbish, essentially. That's how they treat people with disabilities. Our second room was a godsend compared to the first and was still gross, with stains, grime, chipped and old furniture that you can't give away, chips in the walls, etc. They simply don't care. Do not go here. Environmental issues: - Each room is heated with a natural gas fireplace. This is small, but it's also a natural resource that we frack for. If they really care about the environment, they wouldn't waste natural gas in every single room, in multiple buildings. Christmas display: Wonderful!
