Oriental Café sits directly on East West Connector near the Powder Springs Road/EW Connector intersection. It is located in a small plaza, Austell Promenade, that also houses Firehouse Subs, Pizza Hut and a few other local eateries and shops...all of which sits directly in front of the movie theater/24 hour gym and next to Casa Grande. Oriental Café is a Chinese eatery that also features a full sushi bar. So you will see all the classic Chinese dishes you are used to from local spots alongside a hefty list of sushi, sashimi and appetizers alike. I came here in search of sushi and they had just what I was after! I called my order in and was quoted 15 minutes. I happened to arrive about 5 minutes early as I was already nearby and my rolls were already waiting for me! I usually try to go one classic role and one house roll, so today I scooped up a classic Shrimp Tempura Roll and then a Yumi Yumi Roll, which was a house roll. Between both rolls and an added side of eel sauce, I spent around $19.00...so definitely not bad on sushi roll prices! The tempura roll featured 8 pieces and the house included 10, so plenty to eat between both rolls! Both rolls were well packed and tightly rolled. They were not mind-blowingly excellent, but for the price you pay and the amount you get, the rolls were worth every penny! They are still a 100% take out or delivery place, as the inside is still closed for dine-in. They have their system inside with the front counter then a few tables for online orders, call-ins and Uber Eats pick-ups. Service, while limited due to it being take out, was spot on. The phone call was easy and pick up was just as easy, with both interactions with both folks being friendly. Overall, Oriental Café seems like a solid place for either Chinese cuisine or a few sushi rolls! While I have only sampled the sushi so far, I would certainly come back for a repeat order of sushi or a Sesame Chicken dinner! read more

I order food through UBER EATS! What was delivered was totally disgusting! the egg rolls looked to be days old and cold! The sesame chicken was so hard I couldn't even chew it! the sauce was so dry it turned into a gel....... no way to put that on rice! The Mongolian beef dried out and hard! I'm super bummed out about my latest experience with Oriental Cafe. I have been a big supporter and fan for a long time, until a couple of nights ago. I have noticed that instead of placing the order in DoorDash directly, it's less expensive to call them and then they call DoorDash for you for delivery. I leave a tip in advance for no-contact (mainly so I don't have to listen to my dogs so nuts). The order total was $62.13, I asked to please leave a $10 tip, charge total being $73.13...which it was. I then noticed on the DoorDash receipt it said $2 tip added...huh?! It bothered me bad enough that I met the driver at their car with questions when they got here. I guess it's better then $2 on the app, they only tipped them $4.00!!! I paid a $10 tip for a driver that is busting their a$$ in the dang 95 degree heat with gas prices at record highs, and it's being kept?? Apparently it happens often. On New Year's Eve we wanted Chinese food to end the 2020 year because this was our favorite chinese restaurant in the area. Well, I need to update my 5 star review to a 2 star. I'd give a 1 star but my parents liked it. We did not enjoy the food at all! We ordered three different dishes. 1.) Mongolian Beef 2.) Spicy Basil Chicken, and 3.) Teriyaki Chicken. Both my husband and I shared the dishes with my parents. All three dishes tasted the same and they were all three covered with onions!! I mean, every bite was onions! Have taken out from this restaurant thrice during covid and have found this restaurant has gone downhill. In fact the last order I had to throw out the food. DO NOT order shrimp from here, they are mealy and stinky. It made my cashew shrimp dish disgusting. The hot and sour soup was very cornstarchy and had a gross film of spicy oil just skimming the top layer. Ordered take out through the yelp app. Ordered the dinner special B- Hunan beef, white rice, egg drop soup. Added two spring rolls. Order was ready when I got there- and carefully packaged in a brown paper sack with cardboard dividing the various containers. The paper sack was then placed in a plastic bag. Food was hot upon pick up and even with almost a half hour between pick up and finally beginning to eat- the order was still at a good temp! Spring rolls were crispy- at a good temp to eat without buring your mouth and not greasy! Added bonus- sent a generous portion of sweet and sour dipping sauce as well as hot mustard! And these were NOT the ubiquitous packets that suck- hoping this was house made! The only commercial sauce packets was the soy sauce. Rice was moist and tender- generous portion without being overwhelming. The entre was also of a generous portion- enough to share certainly and flavorful with just the right amout of spice heat- an amazing variety of veggies along with the beef- bell pepper- baby corn- onion, carrot, and broccoli! Would order from here again. Egg drop soup also a decent portion but not overwhelming- pretty standard as to flavor- no extra ingredients (aka tofu- tomato) that I've seen elsewhere. read more

I order the General tso chicken, it said it was spicy and it was zero spicy to it. Barley any vegetables in it ( came with onions and green peppers) I also ordered the appetizer sampler, everything was dried out and hard like it was all pre cooked just sitting to be served. I also ordered California roll and avocado roll. Something about it just didn't taste good. Maybe the rice or the avocado. They were super thick pieces as well. This used to be our go to for Chinese food. We looked at their website which tells everyone that they have inside dining. After driving from our house to the place they informed us that they don't have inside dining. Then one of the waitress argued that wasn't on the website, after I opened the site I was told she would try to find out why their site wasn't updated that she would find out why it was wrong. Ordered delivery for lunch for the first time from Oriental Cafe. Used the Beyond Menu application and it was so easy to order and pay. My order showed up to my doorstep in about 45 minutes all boxed up. I ordered a variety of different food so my husband and I could try and have enough Chinese food to munch on for a couple of days. Each lunch special includes your choice of soup between Egg Drop, Hot and Sour, and Wonton. It also includes a spring roll, your choice of white rice, fried rice, or brown rice ( 50¢ extra) and a fountain drink. Here's what we ordered: General Tso's chicken -medium spice Sweet and Sour Shrimp Beef and Broccoli Beef Lo Mein Pork Fried Rice Crab Rangoon Chicken Eggrolls The lunch portions are pretty dang good for the price! We got all this food, 5 spring rolls, 5 soups, and 5 drinks plus tax, delivery, and a tip for $50. You really can't beat that. As far as the food.... It was typical Americanized Chinese fare. It was nothing special. It was everything that you would expect. The only thing that I might not order again was the Pork Fried Rice. It was a little dry and overcooked. A casual cafe that serves Chinese and Japanese food with a sushi bar. It's in a strip mall that also houses Regal 22 in Austell. What I like best about this place is it's well lit and clean unlike many other Chinese restaurants that are, for some reason, dimply lit. Servers are polite and service is fast. Fresh coffee beside tea is served as well. Their tag line is "Gourmet Chinese Cuisine", I may not go that far but service and food is far superior than many other Chinese restaurants. Sushi items are very fresh. Frequented this place with different people, tasted different items and would recommend all of those - Spicy Basil Trio (spicy), Steak and Scallop in Sizzling Plate, Mongolian Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken and more. While dinner is served in a little more elegant plating and quantity is more, lunch is more casual with smaller portion that is just the right size. This has been our favorite Chinese restaurant for years and drove all the way from Hiram for takeout. This is our third time ordering since they reopened and the quality has just really gone downhill. Sushi is not edible and the taste of the chicken dishes we ordered were bland, overcooked chicken and just not good at all. We took a few bites and threw it all away. Even the hit and sour soup didn't taste right. We were heading home from seeing a movie and as we past Oriental Cafe, my wife asked if I wanted to give the place a try. I said sure. The place is very unassuming from the exterior. The interior is also unassuming. But the food, the food is very good, very flavorful. The service was quick and efficient. My wife had an American favorite, General Tso Chicken. I had jumbo shrimp lo mein. Each lunch entree includes soup, a drink, and a spring roll for under $7.00, a great value. We both had the hot and sour soup. Two thumbs up! I usually don't write reviews but this I needed to get out. I ordered delivery to an address not 5 mins away from the location. After 30 mins after being quoted my time. I called to find out about the driver. The lady mentioned "he should be there". I said okay. 1 hour later (1 hr and a half later). I called, they put me on hold and mentioned. "He should be there any second" I canceled because of the late service and without closing my transaction the guy hung up on me. I called back 15 mins later and canceled AGAIN. The food still didn't show up. They even lied and said he was in route AGAIN. I will not be ordering from them anymore. The worst part about this is I ordered from them 3 times over the past couple of months (partly because I don't feel like cooking sometimes). The first was sub par quality Chinese food-Fine thats okay. The second time-Terrible Quality, Egg Drop Soup was nasty and thick like chucky applesauce. Noodles tasted like yesterday's food somebody didn't eat that they scrapped together. This is the third and last time. RESTAURATEURS IN ATLANTA, Austell is a great opportunity to open a delivery place. We have to settle for only a few and this one is terrible. We've ordered from the Oriental Cafe for over seven years and last night's meal was the worst we've had, although the meal in December was not great either. We always order two Sesame chicken meals and the chicken was incredible stringy, almost like gristle from a steak. The rice tasted as though it had been sitting in the pan for several days, not fresh and fluffy like normal. The Crab Rangoons were soft and not crispy at all. To spend that amount of money on subpar food is a disappointment and to have kids notice the quality was poor says a lot about the meal we had. HIGHLY dissatisfied! read more
