My wife had ordered the DD roll and I had ordered the Beef Yakisoba. Our food was enjoyable. My Yakisoba bowl, while lacking a little in flavor, was light and healthy. My wife enjoyed the DD roll and thought it was fresh and filling. The portions were good sized and the price is a bit higher but still a good range. I got the DD roll here, and it was only 5 pieces with some toppings on it. It was $13 and while the ingredients were nice, it didn't fill me up the way a regular sushi roll would. Don't do it! The shrimp "lomein" was horrid and it was also spaghetti. The Mongolian beef was tiny pieces of beef (like what's left at the bottom of pan after the good stuff is gone) and it was burnt. They were out of Dr Pepper, practically a sin for this southern girl! This place helps to fill a long needed void in Warrensburg cuisine. Came in at 9pm on Fri and the place had a decent crowd, a good sign. The menu isn't huge, but it delivers what it promises. A selection of Japanese and Korean dishes. I had the Bulgogi (stir-fried) and my friend had Bibimbap. We both chose beef. While we both chose medium we have above average heat tolerance so even while my dish looked spicier neither was hot enough, but they had no problem bringing some peppers to spice it up. In fact they the waitress volunteered to bring some out when we were questioning the spice levels when ordering. My meal was good, came out on a sizzling plate with beef and onions with rice on the side. The Bibimbap came in a big bowl, a larger portioned meal in comparison, and notably had a fried egg on top and had cucumber kim-chi inside with the other ingredients. I added a side of kim-chi myself, the cabbage variant which hit the spot. Right amount of heat. What knocks down a star is a combination of service and our drink glasses. The waitress missed the normal first quick check to make sure the food is fine and we had to flag her down. Seemed a tad impatient when ordering appetizers. I attribute it to her being just old enough to be doing this young. She was helpful in choosing dishes and wouldn't mind as a server again. It looked like they might need to put some vinegar in the dishwasher and run it for a cycle. Oriental Cuisine might just make it in Warrensburg. After all, it has a proven record of success in neighboring Knob Noster- but it's also the only Korean food/sushi available within 40 miles. The spicy tuna roll is great- reasonably priced for such a large roll. I suggest going with some sort of spice- they usually ask you if you'd like your dish mild, medium or hot- the mild seems a bit bland but the medium is usually right on pointe. They have great cream cheese wontons and egg rolls- haven't tried much else on the way of appetizers. Yakisoba and Bebimbob are great choices for your entree if you don't go the sushi route. I've also had the dumpling soup, which was huge and very filling. They've recently expanded their sushi menu and it is fabulous! If you want sushi and don't want to drive to the "big city" try them out. read more

PROS: A lot of variety, amazing sushi rolls, great quality fish, friendly owner that talks to customers, and pretty much the only sushi restaurant in Warrensburg (King Chef is blah). CONS: Food preparation is extremely slow for a place that is hardly busy. My boyfriend and I were the only ones in the restaurant and had to wait 20 minutes for just 3 specialty rolls. Even being from Hawaii where we live on fresh fish, I do recommend this place. My favorite rolls are the Double Dragon, Dollie, and DD. read more

Highly disappointed. We got carry out, I got the sesame chicken, my husband got pork yakisoba. We also got the fried calamari & vegetables appetizer. The calamari was severely overcooked, it was bitter and like chewing on rubber. The vegetables were decent, but greasy. My sesame chicken was dry and chewy with barely any sauce. The sauce that was there was really sweet and salty. The white rice was overcooked and hard. The yakisoba was decent, but you get barely anything and for $13, definitely not worth it. I stopped tonight in Warrensburg while traveling through for a business trip. Since I am a huge Korean food nut and this place was right next to my hotel, it was an easy choice. Three cute, but somewhat confused-looking young waitresses greeted me when I entered, one tried to seat me at a table while the other directed me to the bar because I wanted takeout. The delightful, savory smell of sesame oil hung heavy in the air. I ordered the Haemul Bokkeum and a kimchi combination to go, I didn't bother looking at their Japanese stuff. They informed me that they were out of squid and asked if they could just add extra shrimp and scallops to my meal. Today was Mother's Day so perhaps that explains why they ran out. Service was very quick, I waited at the bar probably less than 10 minutes before I received my order. The cabbage kimchi was very perfectly fermented, not overly sweet or sour, just right, but nowhere near as spicy as I expected that it should be. The cucumber kimchi was very sweet, and tasted it as though it wasn't fermented at all, perhaps it had been made fresh made that day. Some people might view that as a positive, but I like at least a little fermentation in my kimchi. The radish kimchi admittedly isn't exactly my favorite variant as far as kimchi in general is concerned, and the stuff I had was no exception, so I can't give an honest up or down assessment on this one. My main entree, the haemul bokkeum (seafood stirfry), had all the vegetables and seafood you'd expect in such a Korean dish and came with a side of rice. It was good, but the sauce was very different from any other Korean bokkeum I've had. Usually the contents of a Korean bokkeum are stir-fried in a thick, red, spicy sauce, but this sauce was yellowish and quite watery. It tasted like it had garlic, sesame, and oddly enough... perhaps a little butter in it. The sauce was by no means bad tasting, quite the contrary, but it reminded me more of something that you might find in a westernized Chinese buffet than an authentic Korean restaurant.
