Three words: it's kinda spicy! I love Thai food and the restaurant has many options to choose from including some that I've never heard of like pumpkin curry which is what I got, and mango curry which I want to try next time. The thing is, they use a red curry paste which is slightly spicy. Scratch that, not super spicy unbearable but very close. I couldn't help but cough at times because of the burn. Regardless, it was still delicious and I'd recommend it to people who love sweet and savory and spice. The inside of the restaurant is quaint and nice, and my favorite thing was the cute local artist's mural. So so cute and it just completes the shop. Maybe I misread it but I think the owner or one of the workers got a little upset when I accidentally spilled my friend's drink. It made me feel bad which I shouldn't because these things happen. I was going to offer to pay for a new one for her, but I think the owner thought I was asking for a brand new drink for free so she seemed hesitant to help me so my friend just insisted no we don't need one and we left. Amazing food! I ordered the yellow curry fried rice with chicken and bell peppers because many of the reviews I read raves about it. They weren't wrong. My dad had the Pad See Wen and loved it, as well. I love all the foliage and natural light. It's quiet but not to the point of being uncomfortably so. Small , hole-in-the-wall establishment near the University of North Texas campus was a great find for lunch. It doesn't look like much from the road but a Thai restaurant amongst dozens of bars, pizza and burger joints, barbecue and Mexican restaurants does seem like the odd duck. The atmosphere of the place was peaceful, and we could easily have a quiet conversation. The servers were attentive, and the wait wasn't long for the food and the food was delicious - the perfect amount of spicy. I'd gladly return to try other dishes. read more

I got the tofu and vegetable pad see eew which was well seasoned and flavorful. It wasn't too salty nor was it too spicy. I also ordered vegetable spring rolls with peanut sauce which I would not order again. They were fresh but the rice paper was thick and difficult to bite through. The food is spectacular, rich and flavorful, the diverse menu offers scores of items. I consider myself the king of all things noodles and or that food, so the fact that it took me so long to come here was a real shame. Nevertheless, I finally made my way to OG during lunch on a weekday. I'm happy to say that it was well worth the wait. I've heard so much about this place, and I was shocked that I've never actually passed by it. That's because it's quite hidden on a side street by the university. It's quite small, with limited parking. Lucky for me I managed to grab the last spot in front, and also landed a table for one! I was low on cash this day because of an issue with my bank, so I opted for a smaller, cheaper dishes. I went with my stand by, Tom Kha, an order of fresh rolls, and one side of noodles to put inside my Tom Kha. Everything came out of the kitchen rather quick despite the full dining room. The Tom Kha was a touch on the sweet side, but I was able to get a spice rack and adjust the heat levels! Something I found very interesting was that they actually keep sugar on the spice rack. This is something that is very common in Thailand, as they put it on top of most noodles. This is the first time I've seen a place in the states do it, and it's one of my favorite toppings. I get a side eye at other Thai restaurants when I do this, so that's how you know OG is legit. The fresh rolls were a touch heavy on the mint, but I enjoyed them. In the future I would probably try a different appetizer. The service was very nice, and they only had two gentleman working the front for lunch. They seemed to share all the tables, and managed to work the register as well. Kudos to them for managing a busy lunch rush, I never felt like a waited long for anything at all. It was a fantastic visit overall, and I really want to resolve to coming here more. The location makes it a little difficult, but I'm more than willing to figure it out for this food! read more

First off let me say that I REALLY appreciate when restaurants clearly mark things vegetarian/vegan as this one does. The restaurant is very homey. Simple decor and comfortable ambiance, but time to take down the Christmas ornaments off the lights and the wreaths, haha. Had the vegetable soup- DELISH!! Egg fried rice- very good, just needed a little more soy sauce to meet my liking. Vegetable egg rolls were good too, although I didn't care for the dipping sauce. Service was excellent. Don't let the exteriors stop you, once you enter indoor, they have a very clean and relaxing atmosphere, nice soft New Age music in background and friendly sweet staffs. Food was great, flavorful and large portions for the price, and most importantly not greasy ;) Some reviewer said it was pretty spicy, as a relatively your tolerance level, for instance, I ordered mine on level 4 hotness and to me it tasted like a level 2. I've had Khao soi in many restaurants. I've had Khao soi bites the best in Dallas in an actual competition. I've had Khao soi that a Thai expat tearfully called the most authentic this side of Chang Mai province. This isn't authentic Khao soi. If you haven't had authentic Khao soi and your not looking for authentic Khao soi, you'll probably like this fine. It's perfectly pleasant t. But for starters, the noodles are completely wrong. Khao soi noodles are wider, flatter egg noodles. These are thin, round-- similar to maifun. The crispy noodles freshly fried long wonton noodles, crispy and light. These look and taste almost like chow mein noodles. And then there's the broth. Khao soi has a marvelous depth. This has no depth, and an odd sweetness. Again, if you've never had authentic Khao soi, you may like this fine. But if you've had the real thing, you'll probably be disappointed. I would try one of the other delicious sounding entrees on the menu. read more

I have eaten at this restaurant about eight times this fall, and the BBQ Pork Fried Rice has always been great. Last night I ordered take out, and about 1/4 of the way through my meal I found two long, black hairs in my BBQ Pork Fried Rice. My appetite was gone at that point and I threw my meal in the garbage. It's a cute Thai food joint. I love their decor. I have been there couple of times since I love Thai food and I am a big fan of curry fried rice , so I ordered a yellow curry fried rice during one of my visit. However it didn't meet my expectation since I have had much tastier ones. My favourites here are their Pad Thai, Khao soi chiang - Mai noodle soup and Tom Yum. Came here on Friday with a few yelpers and I really enjoyed the experience. The first thing I noticed is that the restaurant was very clean, open and the staff was very patient and welcoming. This was the first time that many of us had met in person which can be a bit akward at first, but the atmosphere (and BYOB bottle of wine) made it more comfortable. Each of us had our own perference on food choice, but we did get a chance to share appetizers, which was great because it allowed me to try new things that I wouldn't have necessarily ordered on my own. I even tried tofu fries. This is major because after trying many years ago, I vowed to never try it again, but theirs was actually good. It was nice and firm and even had a nice flavor unlike the soft, bland tofu that has haunted my taste buds from years ago. I ordered the corn patties-Excellent! Also had another chicken, potato appetizer (I forgot the name) but it was really good as well. For entree, I really wanted to venture out, but I am a rice lover and ultimately decided to get the crispy chicken fried rice. So glad I decided to get this. It was sooo good and flavorful with HUGE portions. I had enough left overs for 2 more meals and I shared. Everyone else equally enjoyed their meals. What I like the most about the restaurant is the quality of the food and affordable prices. Service was great, staff was friendly. There was a bit of confusion at the end, but it was quickly resolved without an issue.I look forward to returning again soon. read more

A yelp friend hosted a get together dinner here, and I've been wanting to try their food after reading the reviews on yelp and browsing through the menu and pictures. I noticed that they recently switched owners and changed their interior and menu (base on other yelp reviews). Since we came as a group, we all shared appetizers, I tried the fried tofu with sweet and sour sauce, and Roti Mataba. Both were delicious. The fried tofu were bite size and triangular shaped, so i thought that was cute. The Roti Mataba tasted like a samosa, because of the chicken, potato, carrots, green peas, and curry filling wrapped inside. For my entree, I ordered the Chicken Pineapple Curry. The rice came in a upside down cone shape, and I was amused by that. The pineapple was sweet, and went well with the not too spicy curry. Overall, I like this place. The interior decor was nice, everything goes well together. The staff was friendly and patient with us. The food was also delicious. The pricing is inexpensive, which I liked. I'll be coming back, and maybe bring my boyfriend next time, because he likes curry that aren't spicy. And maybe try the mango curry next time, since he likes mangoes and curry. read more

Probably the best Thai food in Denton! I have loved everything that I have tried here and the restaurant itself is super nice and just feels almost fancy without being fancy, if that makes sense. They are great for pickup or eating in. Last time we ordered the Kra-Prao, spring rolls, and Tom Kha soup. The Kra-prao blew me away. It has so many Thai flavors all working together that it just made me smile. The soup is always perfect! The spring rolls were fried perfectly and stuffed full.
