Camarones a la Diabla Burrito Chile Verde
Heather A.

It was my first time trying this place out. The food was delicious! The waitress was attentive even with a problem occurring. She handled it well and still checked on us. The restaurant was quiet with light chatter, a little tense after. Although with the altercation, I would definitely come back. The food is worth a try if you've been thinking of trying this place out!

Such a classic Mexican style restaurant to try when in Bakersfield. This place has been here at least 50 years and the furniture is no much younger than that. But seriously, we were greeted promptly when we entered the building. We sat down for an early evening dinner and was met with a nice bowl of chips and salsa. The salsa had a nice kick to it and I found myself pouring it out onto my entree. For my meal I went for the rolled taco's trio because I had never seen that before. I am glad I did because the dish was very filling and delicious. It was delivered just as described, meat rolled into a soft flour tortilla, and stuffed with choice of chicken, asada, or veggie. I went for two steak and one chicken, accompanied with rice, beans, sour cream and guac. I ate half at the restaurant and the other half for a late night snack. I cant wait to go back and try this dish again. Great location, right off Highway 178 and Buck Owens Blvd and a short walk from the Crystal Palace.

Food was delicious authentic mexican food. My grandson had the supreme fajitas, and I had a combo plate with the chile relleno. Yummy chile relleno! Service wasn't that great. They were friendly, but you didn't see them very often. Cozy family setting comfortable booths. We will go back. They were probably short staffed that day. I'm guessing. You could tell they had a lot of loyal customers there that have been coming for years. That's always a good sign.

Another splendid meal at the Hacienda Grill on Buck Owens. This place is a little hard to find. The parking lot is set up kinda weird, but the food is delicious. The service is friendly and efficient. The food is good. Our Chicken Enchiladas were plenty to satisfy us.

This place has quickly became one of my favorite places for breakfast! The food is so authentic and delicious. I taste like my moms home cooking. Really, really GOOD food. The waitress makes you feel right at home. Very friendly staff and she is an amazing waitress! Every dish I've tried has been so satisfyingly delicious. Definitely a must try if you've never been! The place is not too big and it's always busy but it's clean and the service is fast. Great ambiance.

Walked over here in the later part of afternoon to have an early dinner and cocktail after a long day at the show. We were immediately greeted and given the option to select our desired place to dine. Our hostess just happened to be our server too. Or maybe our server just happened to be playing hostess when we walked in. Either way, she's super sweet, very personable, and right on top of offering recommendations of the most tasty entrees on the menu. We ordered cocktails which were clearly free poured, hand blended, and not filled with excessive s&s mix. Just a nice mix and I'm ready to order another and my first one isn't even half finished. My dining companion apparently gives the thumbs up to the tortilla chips because I glance over and the basket is almost empty. Speaking of chips, the salsa is quite nice with its finishing bite. So far, nothing I anticipated. I ordered the short ribs because I've never seen them on the menu of a Mexican food restaurant and I really do like short ribs. I was forewarned that they were spicy but I give them two thumbs for the nice balance of spice. The Fajitas came with lots of steak and chicken, nice balance of flavor, and perfectly charred veggies -neither overcooked or underdone. Corn tortillas ordered with Fajitas were burn your fingers HOT. Only thing that could've made it better would be the addition of some cheese on the side. Highly recommend. Wonderful service, tasty drinks, delicious meals, and someone quaint, small restaurant with a good size patio that had space heaters.

First time trying Hacienda grill! Cozy little restaurant with an old school Mexican restaurant vibe, which I love!! Location is kinda weird but that's not their fault! Restaurant seemed clean and they have a cozy little bar with TVs for sports at the entrance! Pretty large menu but I knew what I wanted before I stepped foot inside! I ordered the usual 3 item combo with chilie relleno, enchilada and crunchy taco and wife ordered menudo and an enchilada! They gave us complimentary chips and salsa and the chips were warm and crispy and the salsa was good like 7/10 good! Our food came out surprisingly fast- not sure if that's a good or a bad thing?! My chili verde enchilada was delicious, the crunchy taco was good like 6/10 good, the chili relleno was also good like 6/10 good! Rice and beans were very good as well! My wife said the menudo was good and she liked her enchilada plate as well! They were on the way to a 5 star review but a bathroom trip before leaving knocked the last star off, wife said the bathroom was really dirty!! We gotta do better those kinda things can keep people like us from coming back and were actually not sure if we would based on that as well! Service was ok nothing great but not bad either! Overall a solid place to eat with pretty fair prices as well.

2 items Combination with chile relleno and mini chicken chimi and taco roll combo WAS SO GOOD around 40$ total.

I guess because it's a sports bar restaurant, and it's in Bakersfield. I got the shock of my life. It turned out, this was the best barbecue food I ever had. Not only that, but it's very affordable. I would say a bargain. I didn't have to spend 100+ dollars for 2 persons, like a lot of so called high quality barbecue restaurants. The briskets and ribs were amazing. Delicious, flavorful, and melts in your mouth. Sides were also delicious. The service was good too. You just go up and get your order. It took a little time, but the staff is helpful and friendly. I'll be back here again, the next time I'm in Bakersfield. Maybe I'll visit the Buck Owen's museum. Bakersfield is truly the Texas of California, although I've only been to El Paso, Texas.

I really enjoy my ribs they were tender and in my opinion they didn't need the sauce. I enjoyed how spacious the place is and the giants fan they have keep the place cool during this hot weather. Was just passing by for a dinner meal, and I was very happy. If I could give one recommendation maybe smoke those ribs a bit more to be a bit more tender. Definitely will be back for that tri tip.

One of the few restaurants that has the volume level of music just right. There's a lot to choose from on their menu. Don't be like me, if you live in Bakersfield, you have to try Jake's Tex-Mex.

We were headed to a hockey game and didn't have a lot of time. I got the tri-tip salad light and my husband got a chicken sandwich and of course, a piece of cake. There is no table servers so the only interaction you have with staff is them putting your meal together when you first come in. I guess they seem friendly enough. I feel like every time we come the plates are getting smaller. Not saying we'll never be back as it seems like eventually, we always do. I'm just saying it's definitely not on our frequent or even common places to eat.

After a long day on the road, a good steak sounded perfect, so we decided to try Hungry Hunter. They told us it would be a 10-15 minute wait, so I grabbed a drink at the bar and some water for my girlfriend. By the time I walked back--maybe five minutes--they were already ready to seat us. Great start. We ordered steaks with asparagus, and the food absolutely hit the spot. Tender, flavorful, cooked exactly right. But what really made the night memorable was our server, Angelis. She was an absolute pleasure--warm, upbeat, and genuinely positive in a way that lifted the whole experience. After a long day of driving, her energy made dinner feel like a treat instead of just a pit stop. Great food, great service, and a huge thank‑you to Angelis for making our night fabulous.

The vibes in the new space are absolutely immaculate. There is so much more energy here, and the decorations are incredibly cute. It's the perfect backdrop for a killer meal. The Main Event: This time around, I went with the En Fuego Burger. This beast is loaded with a chile-spiced beef patty, pepperjack, sharp cheddar, thick-cut bacon, chipotle mayo, pepper relish, pickled jalapeños, and a mountain of fried jalapeños + onion strings. The Flavor Profile: This burger delivers on every level, but those fried onion strings were to die for. For the side, I got the sweet potato fries, which are served as big, thick-cut wedges. They come paired with a duo of spicy ketchup and a marshmallow dipping sauce. Switching between the two was amazing, the marshmallow sauce actually makes the fries feel like a dessert. The Drink: To wash it all down, I ordered the basil lemonade, and omg, I need to figure out how to recreate this at home. It's exactly what it sounds like, crisp, refreshing lemonade with a perfect herbal basil finish. The Verdict: If you loved their old spot, the new location takes everything to the next level. Between the upgraded atmosphere, the dessert-like fries, and that refreshing lemonade, I will absolutely be coming back here again and again.

I immediately noticed that my favorite dish, the shakshuka eggs, was no longer on the menu. Thinking it might just be a seasonal change, I decided to try something different. I ordered the carrot ginger soup, beet and goat cheese salad, and my usual favorite cocktail, the Pear Necessities. The cocktail was the first disappointment. It tasted completely different from what I've come to enjoy, none of the smoky mezcal flavor and none of the sweetness from the pear liquor that made it a favorite. I figured it might just be a new bartender and tried to brush it off. The carrot ginger soup was just okay. I found myself searching for both the carrot and ginger flavors, neither of which really stood out. The beet and goat cheese salad was fine, but it's hard to get too excited about a salad. Overall, the food felt subpar compared to what I've come to expect from Moo Creamery. The restaurant itself was also surprisingly loud, making conversation difficult and adding to the overall frustration. It was hard to get our waitress's attention throughout the meal, and service felt disjointed. The most disappointing moment came when we noticed my son's chicken strips and fries sitting on the counter for 13 minutes before they were finally brought to our table. By then, it was difficult not to question whether the food was still as fresh and hot as it should have been. We came in excited to experience the new location, but between the noisy atmosphere, inattentive service, and food that didn't live up to Moo Creamery's usual standards, we left feeling disappointed. Sadly, I probably won't be returning. It's hard to justify giving it another try when there are so many other restaurants in town that consistently deliver quality food, service, and a better overall dining experience.
