Food Ordered - Samoa Pancakes - These pancakes were a special the restaurant had for the month and they tasted identical to a delicious Samoa Girl Scout cookie. The fluffy pancakes came with a generous serving of coconut flakes and mini chocolate chips on the top which paired excellent with the pancakes. - California Omelette - The California Omelette comes with avocado, bacon, tomato's, and sour cream. I asked for no sour cream) The omelette was HUGE, definitely great for sharing. The omelette was fluffy and filled with the perfect amount of bacon. It's been a while since we came to original pancake house, but I was craving a Dutch baby and remembered the delicious Dutch baby. I had years back here so we came back. My son really enjoyed his chicken sausage, egg and cheese sandwich with whole fried potatoes and a short snack of chocolate chip pancakes. I enjoyed my baby of course along with it. I ordered the huevos rancheros that were labeled that spicy, but it was not spicy at all. it really needed more beans and the dish overall was just lacking flavor. It was more refreshing than savory or warm. We both got fresh juices. Both were delicious and the service was great attentive welcoming, and we were seated within half an hour of waiting in line after 10:30 AM on a Saturday. We may have been seated earlier, but I don't recall exactly when we started waiting in line. If you are a party bigger than two they have a separate line which may be a longer wait but it's more of a waitlist line. Whereas the other line is you waiting in line when you get seated as tables become available for parties of one or two people. Ambience is pretty laid-back and relaxed. I love this restaurant and the food generally speaking is always delicious. The oven baked omelettes are huge, fresh, and delicious. The corned beef hash is made in house and is meat as it should be. Tasty and tender and fresh. Today though I had my first disappointing dish - the oven baked Dutch baby that comes with the lemon butter sauce. We poured the sauce over expecting lemon butter. But upon tasting it, we realized it wasn't lemon juice. Or fresh lemon flavor. It tasted like liquified lemon curd - like a melted down center of a bad diner lemon meringue pie. You know that flavor. It was spot on that. And so it was cloying fake and sweet mixed with butter and overall kinda gross. I can't recommend that one. Is there a better way to spend a snow day than to pack your friends into a four wheel drive truck and have a big breakfast! We got two kinds of baked omelettes, a Dutch baby (and one to go), a side of corned beef hash, and a huevos rancheros. I enjoyed them all other than the lemon sauce that comes with the Dutch baby. Was craving some breakfast food so came here on a Sunday morning. Walk in only and it can get quite busy - we waited a little over 30 minutes for a group of 4 (which they did say it would be). Once our turn was up, we were seated and overall the waitress was friendly and addressed all our requests. For the four of us we got several different plates and all were quite good. Especially considering the price, the portions were pretty good - particularly the omelette which holy moly was gigantic. Ambiance is exactly in line with their other locations; casual and relaxed. Heard that the portions were on the larger side so decided to share among friends. Ordered the vegetarian omelette and it was indeed stuffed with mushrooms, broccoli, onions and Swiss cheese. It's baked and looked like a fat egg calzone. I think I would have liked it more without the cheese. It filled me up quickly and I feel I would have eaten more without the cheese. We also ordered the fresh fruit crepes. The topping was strawberries, blueberries and bananas. It comes with a side of mini pancakes. If you're a breakfast person you can't go wrong with the food here. It's got all you need from breakfast platters to the fluffy minipancakes to wraps/sandwiches. We were absolutely stuffed. I thought the pancakes were the best part of the meal and so tasty. When we went on a weekend there was still ample seating. The parking and driving through Edgewater can be a bit of a pain. The pancake is softer than your usual diner pancake and thinner, soaking up the maple syrup. The omelet was too dry, I was hoping for more silky feel. I was talking to a friend and I mentioned another pancake place in the area and they told me that I needed to check out this place. They said that the pancakes are, definitely on point. I ordered some pancakes and eggs and they satisfied my craving. The pancakes were not super huge, but a perfect size. They were light and fluffy. Definitely not super thick. Which was fine with me. Great flavor. They were just perfect. And the eggs were scrambled perfectly. They were not burnt, which is what I don't like. They were just perfectly scrambled. I did want some toast with my meal at the same time, but they must have missed that request. so the toast came out a bit late. By that time I had finished my pancakes and eggs. Besides that everything was great. Service was on point. The venue itself was beautifully decorated with florals. Very nice dining area. it was average. A bunch of patrons and enjoying themselves, conversing. So if you're looking for some really good pancakes, I definitely suggest that you visit the original pancake house. Came here for brunch on a Sunday and ended up waiting around 30 minutes to get seated (party of 2). I got the apple pancake, which was so large and came out warm. You could tell it came straight out of the oven. The pancake was covered in this sweet and delicious glaze. I absolutely loved this dish and would come back just for this. The lemon butter glaze that came on the side I found didn't really do much besides make the food more fatty with the butter. The strawberry did enough to add the sweetness. The only thing I would say could improve upon is the service. I had ordered coffee and trying to get someone to refill my coffee was a bit of a struggle. i'm have been coming to this location for more than three years, and this is almost every weekend it has consistently been good . today we were seated close to the open kitchen. I noticed a prep person making whipped cream fresh from heavy cream and a large mixer. I observed him cutting fresh mushrooms, and other vegetables by hand I saw stacks of potatoes I saw large stacks of egg crates and this just confirmed that everything that I was eating and being served could not be any fresh er and nothing was frozen or prepackaged. My only comment otherwise would be that there Canadian bacon and regular thick, sliced bacon we're a little too salty from my taste.
